First of all, I was very happy with how fast this item was delivered. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxYR69rUVDfF56JHQRldV2uJeXaPA9LTZW It came a day before the listed delivery date, which was super great! I was able to assemble it myself with no difficult and I am not an engineer or a put-it-together expert. The chair is super comfortable, I play video games for roughly 3-4 hours at a time and it does not make my back hurt or neck hurt. The Reclining function actually surprised me because it goes very low, you could fall asleep on it ( and in fact i have while laying on it with a foot rest for my legs). The red is a bold choice and I usually stay away but I love how the red and black contrast looks on this type of material. The wheels on this chair are very very quiet, I have wood vinyl in my apartment and there is absolutely no noise. OVERALL, I WOULD RECOMMEND or BUY IT AGAIN !
Uh.....that is an absolutely hopeless goal. Watching a tech reviewer will never make you a tech expert. Only one thing will, Years apon Years os Research.
"Hello?! ASUS?! My hardware is TOO HIGH OF QUALITY--- I NEEEED you to send me 3 kick@ss monitors that are a tiny-bit crappier so I can make a video! *STAT*! Purchase?! Im fn LTT b!tch!"
I love racing sims. The number one thing that stops me from playing them is the chore of mounting the wheel and pedals on my workstation PC. Cockpit is a perfect thing and a must for every racing sim enthusiast. I hope of setting a dedicated racing setup with a cockpit that I can jump into in an instant when I want to do some racing.
The UA-cam sub box problem is non-existent for me. Not because UA-cam tells me when there are new videos out, it doesn't, but because I physically check the channels of the UA-camrs I like most to see if there are any new uploads. I don't get why more people don't do this, it is a much more efficient process.
If my mail man doesn't deliver I don't go to the post office because it's more efficient, I issue a complaint. The end user is entitled to have his product/service work as intended, the burden should not be shift unto him when the company screws up.
"better" depends on the goal. If the goal is to get notifications from all the channels whose subscribe buttons you press, then it's broken. If your goal is to have Google treat that like a suggestion then it's working perfectly :)
LinusTechTips The suggestion method works way better in my opinion. I have no idea why subscribed to BuzzFeed since I rarely saw any of their videos and well I don't get annoyed by them anymore. But yeah it kinda sucks I sometimes miss some of the videos from my favorite channels but I think that's because they don't upload many videos, Vsauce for example uploads every 2-3 weeks and I missed the videos a lot because of that
King-junior Nkosi I guarantee you that I can afford it but I don't play as much as I used to so I don't see a reason to do so, instead I'm using my money to travel and other things, gaming is still a big thing in my life but not my priority.
Hi Linus, i'm an italian pc builder and i want to tell u one thing.. u are now living my dream, and I admire u a lot, i hope to have an half of your's hardware
"If you are one of those racer or flight enthusiast gamers with a couple grand to burn then I've got 2 things to say to you. Can I be your friend" lolz best quote ever.
Your review was fairly accurate of the rig. 0butt0's are some of the best ones on the market IMHO. I sit in mine usually all day except to eat & sleep and I never get tired of it. I'm retired and don't or can't do much else except race and play games. A Great rig for "Simer's" to race in.
Yeah thats true. I wish I had two 980TI's just laying around like that tho. Hell, I wish I had another 970 laying around. Thats got to be a nice feeling. "Oh! Im all out of TitanXP's laying around the inventory of sick sh!t so I guess we will just have to "suffer" w/ these 980ti's that have collected dust since the release of the 1080".
I have never seen anybody say dislike it if you disliked it. Everybody wants likes and they don't want honest feedback. I like it very much among other things.
what i would really looove to see from you Linus, is a walk through how to get started with star citizen, i know it's not your "Segment" but i would love to see it and a deep explanation on how and when ETC. btw great videos i watch them every day, and watch them when they are released. have good one ! one love Denmark
Cool and all, 1 solution: VIRTUAL REALITY. THE BIGGEST SCREEN EVER, seriously i could be playing ETS2 on a IMAX or be inside the truck with a real steering wheel in front of me, what more i can ask for? OH guess what, 1 - You don't need to rob a bank 2 - You don't need to "borrow" nasa's rendering core. 3 - YOU'RE ACTUALLY INSIDE THE THING!
Cool. Can't wait for x-55 review as I am in process of deciding on a HOTAS setup for Elite and Star citizen when it comes out. It would be nice if you can do maybe a-10 hotas review or the Black Widow joystick review etc. Keep it up guys.
The center console should have a push in type pin lock as they have on modern crutches. Then you could set it up and take it off easily, by then there is the wiring... they can make quick disconnects for that.
I'm really looking forward to the X-55 review, since I'm planning on getting one in the next week or so to replace my Logitech 3d pro for E:D and WarThunder.
Would love to see more sim setup content for 2019:) I'm starting to get tired of switching my desk between g29+joystick and keyboard/mouse between farming simulator online sessions...
If you still have this thing around for testing, you should try to get hold of a Track IR 5 and test it out with your flight sim gear. Head movement actually being bound to your head movement in real life just adds so much immersion and truly enhances the way you play a game. Warning: it may take 2 weeks to fully get used to it for like 80% of users. Took me about 10 days but I had help. Warning: after playing with it for a while you will be disappointed when a game does not support it and the wife will think you are an idiot when you turn your head.
the term joystick comes from WW2 pilots. Originally I believe it was called a control stick, but since most of the pilots were men and the stick was located between the legs, the pilots got creative with it's name. A similar thing happened to the word "Jazz" anyway, just an interesting point.
phenomenal review after i bashed for no including a wheel in part 1. as an owner of almost the same setup, garage and coat it man makes it feel environmentally real lol, thats where mine is cuz of the wife,so start giving away those cases to people willing to pay shipping
Beautiful set up, but you would need the Thrustmaster Warthog to complete it! The X55 is a nice stick, I recently did a review on it and the Warthog. One of them is on my desk right now!
Can't wait for the Saitek X55 review! Maybe it will make it easier to decide whether or not to hold out for the official Star Citizen joystick from [REDACTED].
I see you reach your waist for the telepromter to go on, might be a good idea to have some kind of a button where your foot is, this way no one can see it! Great video btw
With a little bit of knowledge, that "station" can be emproved. Use "butterfly" bolts and cut slides in metal instead of the drilled holes. In this way you should just loose 2 bolts and slide, then tight bolts. Much faster then half an hour.(excuse my english...i don't know technical terms)
Dat Obutto... I REALLY want one of those for my house, though I'm pretty certain my fiance would take it over as her daily driver desk space due to the adjustable surfaces she could use for the sake of ergonomics and having all dem monitors mounted in front of her. ... plus it'd be easier for the cat to jump into her lap...
I have the same gaming hardware but will be building my own cockpit. The X-55 is awesome. I also found the G25 not as good for my standards that's why I will be upgrading soon.
Damn linus, fiks the bezzels next time! Especially in racing games.. In iRacing you have some neat settings where you can insert the degree ofset of the monitors, which makes the racing experience a whole lot better!
linus you are becoming what elric is, pure nvidia fan boy, on that res use amd for the love of God and try fx8350 they seem to do miracles on super high res
I think it's a good thing I can't afford those monitors and the Obutto. I would never stop. G27 with the ROG Swift on a desk is already heaps of fun, and I set it up once a week or so to do a couple hours of driving. But yeah like Linus said, it's a big difference when you get into a proper driving position with the shifter in a more natural place and all that...
That tape is M3, they only make high quality products. They also happen to produce the best vinyl wrap for cars and such, so I'm pretty sure they know their glue's very well. :p
I do see the nice points of this setup, but has anybody else used a beamer with a playseat in front of the canvas/screen? (not sure what to call it, english is not my first language...) I'm doing this for about a year now for racing games (Assetto Corsa, Grid Autosport), and just plainly LOVE it. Yes, it does have a distinct resolution disadvantage compared to a multi monitor setup, but for myself I tend to get lost in the action and don't notice it after starting a race. The overall quality of the effects (lighting, shadows, sky...) does far more for me than seeing no pixels! It really fills my field of view, in AC e.g. I can set the field of view AND seating position to really feel like in a real car. My head is about 50cm away from the screen... Also really excited about VR for racing games, I had an Oculus DK2 for a while and using it with AC was just phenomenal!! Resold it eventually because I felt it wasn't quite there yet, but really looking forward to new versions! (Interestingly the resolution bugged me far more in the oculus than on screen from the beamer) Again the question, does anybody else use a setup like mine? --Crosspost from the forum to see where there is more response ;)
Has the most beast driving setup ever -> plays driving games in chase cam.
I can not facepalm hard enough.
This guy gets it
The most beast driving setup would be with an oculus rift. But yes, you are right :D
LOL
So true.
Tobias L. who the hell drives like that though. Don't the cockpit actually covers what you see when you drive.
$5000+ cockpit set up....drives in third person.
He's more into ITs than racing.
5000$ qith mx980 cards?
Oh 7 years ago lmfao
I'm getting more and more pissed seeing him reviewing this cockpit while driving arcade games in 3rd Person. ^^" :P
to be fair he was also crashing on iracing
Javier Correa
True enough ^^
That got on my nerves so much xD
DarkGuy1001 What's worse is the fact he called elite dangerous, SC and Wing Commander flight sims.
SuperCellProductions To be fair, they /do/ simulate flight.
The socks and sandals are ferocious.
I was looking to see if anyone was going to comment about that.
i dont get it how the fuck is he still wearing this and why is his wife alowing him to have that crap on his feet!
***** I dont get why you care
***** IDGAF game is strong.
Atleast it's not crocs.
Linus is rockin' them socks n sandals
+MizuiroNo So much that LG gave him a lifetime supply of socks (seriously not kidding)

I watch you because I think if I watch enough I will be an expert of all things electronics.
Uh.....that is an absolutely hopeless goal. Watching a tech reviewer will never make you a tech expert. Only one thing will, Years apon Years os Research.
Don't ruin my dreams, man.
GamingRisen who told you that? His afap series is extremely helpful for learning
Gabriel Wildman So many haters man, believe in yourself!
its a good reference but if you really want to learn you should do some more research and not entirely rely on linus
Linus I wonder why you find the center mount for your joystick more," natural"?
I expect it's because aircraft always have the joystick in the middle.
Depends on the aircraft. Quite a few run with side sticks or central yokes.
Yeah true... It must feel weird though, flying an aircraft with a side sticks
hehehehehehe
Some people dont get the joke...
LUUUUKE THE SERVER IS ON FIRE AGAIN!

I'm impressed at the rate of videos being produced. Good content, good company, good work. Loved the scrapyard series- Keep it up!
"Oh no, my monitors are too good. Asus send me more plz" -Linus
Poor guy, had to wait for Asus to *send* him monitors.
Really hate when that happens.
I've been waiting for about 15 years and they still never sent me a thing. Damn you, ASUS!
"Hello?! ASUS?! My hardware is TOO HIGH OF QUALITY--- I NEEEED you to send me 3 kick@ss monitors that are a tiny-bit crappier so I can make a video! *STAT*! Purchase?! Im fn LTT b!tch!"
He never said he didn't pay for it, did he? I got sent graphics card from sapphire for example.
Prefer having your stick in the middle?
It had to be said.

The Guy of Awesome Agreed.

It's non-existent for me too, because I receive all mine in my sub box.....
mine too.. i cant even figure out if its an upload or an update ffs
Arghh, youtube sub-box isn't broken at all! I thought by now everyone would know this is how it's supposed to work. And there is no better way.
"better" depends on the goal. If the goal is to get notifications from all the channels whose subscribe buttons you press, then it's broken. If your goal is to have Google treat that like a suggestion then it's working perfectly :)
+LinusTechTips 2 970s SLI or a single 980?
LinusTechTips The suggestion method works way better in my opinion. I have no idea why subscribed to BuzzFeed since I rarely saw any of their videos and well I don't get annoyed by them anymore. Andrew Finerty 2 970s,no comparison, especially with Dx12 coming out in the fall
LinusTechTips
You can't call something broken if it's working how it's supposed to. Even if you think it should work differently.
The server room is on fire.
thank you so much for demonstrating the joystick and keyboard setup at 5:54. so excited to get my ozone ^^
That third person driving with three monitors tho. smh...
i have been eyeing that joy stick for war thunder for a while now..... excited for your review
All that and using 3rd person view... what a waste!

Mike Wollinger no you can't
DSSR oh sorry, I guess that you know more about my finances than me. can I get $10 for lunch, mom?
Mike Wollinger he obviously switched back and forth between first and third person. Don't know why people kept commenting this
FINALLY! Some freakin' Elite: Dangerous! I'm proud of you, Linus.
I wonder is linus is still married after buying this??
I don't know, but the socks and sandals can't help.
they sent it to him to review. he said so during his CES podcast.
N Koss ayyy lmao :D
N Koss I laughed so hard at that commentary.
Zackary McCoy Does he get to keep it after reviewing it?
Hi Linus, i'm an italian pc builder and i want to tell u one thing.. u are now living my dream, and I admire u a lot, i hope to have an half of your's hardware
Looks like a lot of work to switch between driving and flying. How the heck am I gonna fit two of them in my house?
+Steven Vachon Build another house, duh...
I always did have trouble with priorities :P
+Steven Vachon Just buy two of them. One for driving and one for flying.
Blu_Haze physical space is an issue
***** I was joking. Mostly. :P
Holy crap Linus that is the best gaming setup I have ever seen. That was awesome!
I swear on my moms life I will like this comment

Sandals with socks? Really, Linus?
I'm addicted to my racing cockpit, best 2k+ I've ever spent. Soo much fun!
Hey could you ban people posting questions and then disabling replies?
what i would really looove to see from you Linus, is a walk through how to get started with star citizen, i know it's not your "Segment" but i would love to see it and a deep explanation on how and when ETC. btw great videos i watch them every day, and watch them when they are released. have good one ! one love Denmark
socks and sandals linus? :D
Bought two of these to replace the couch in my living room. One for myself and one for my brother. Looking forward to June

Corey DRIZZLE yeah. It's amazing. I have no regrets.
WHAT ARE THOOOOOSEE !!!???
I love the little quips that someone puts on the LinusTechTips logo during the intro! "The server room is on fire." LOL
I wonder what FSX would look like.
FSX yuck..go XP11 and/or Prepar3d ,you'll be much happier.
Love my r3volution with triple swifts and fanatec clubsport v2 wheel w/porsche rim, css sq shifter, and csp v2 pedals... great racing sim setup.
Buys Obutto R3volution....Races in third person...SMH
Thanks! That was very useful and informative. I'm very tempted to buy the Obutto Revolution.
Cool and all, 1 solution: VIRTUAL REALITY.
THE BIGGEST SCREEN EVER, seriously i could be playing ETS2 on a IMAX or be inside the truck with a real steering wheel in front of me, what more i can ask for?
OH guess what,
1 - You don't need to rob a bank
2 - You don't need to "borrow" nasa's rendering core.
3 - YOU'RE ACTUALLY INSIDE THE THING!
There are issues with such of things, that don't always on all people applys. But when it do, it sucks for the burned Money on VR-stuff.
great video! please keep em coming! and yes you've made me sure about my purchase ubutto and monitors here I come!
I CANT GET MY GOD DAMNED SECOND STICK OF RAM INSIDE MY PC GOSH DAMMIT
Holy crap I got an ad with you in it! Best ad ever! :D

Cool. Can't wait for x-55 review as I am in process of deciding on a HOTAS setup for Elite and Star citizen when it comes out. It would be nice if you can do maybe a-10 hotas review or the Black Widow joystick review etc. Keep it up guys.

I literally just ordered my X55, should get it by the end of the week.
as a Rev owner after a year. I absolutely would and do recommend it.
I'm really looking forward to the X-55 review, since I'm planning on getting one in the next week or so to replace my Logitech 3d pro for E:D and WarThunder.
Something about this video I found to be extremely entertaining. More than usual, that is..
wow linus your set up looks great...
Thank you !! Now i know how my next desk will be.
Would love to see more sim setup content for 2019:) I'm starting to get tired of switching my desk between g29+joystick and keyboard/mouse between farming simulator online sessions...
Like all your works!!
keep it up team LinusTechTips!!
This intro is so amazing ..
I'm not into flight games but that whole "flight" setup was OP and sick as fuck! Love it!
And now we're playing in 16k it's great to see how gaming has gone toward.
If you still have this thing around for testing, you should try to get hold of a Track IR 5 and test it out with your flight sim gear. Head movement actually being bound to your head movement in real life just adds so much immersion and truly enhances the way you play a game.

4:19 Linus using his right foot for braking. Good habit. Stick shift MASTER RACE!!!!
he's really trying to make a fashion statement with that sock sandle combo
Just picked up this model for $200 on Craigslist! This thing is built like a tank!
I think it's a good thing I can't afford those monitors and the Obutto. I would never stop. G27 with the ROG Swift on a desk is already heaps of fun, and I set it up once a week or so to do a couple hours of driving. But yeah like Linus said, it's a big difference when you get into a proper driving position with the shifter in a more natural place and all that...
great two part review, I would of liked a good idea of exactly the amount of space required, say coming off a wall. But overall a great review.
God damn I love this tech channel, LTT 4EVA!
awesome video Linus....thanks for the insight into that realm of hardware.....if you can call that cockpit hardware...lol....
Of course you can be my friend Linus!
Linus is a flight sim enthusiast? YOU'RE MY NEW BEST FRIEND!!! xD
Cockpit + VR = Awesome!!!
That tape is M3, they only make high quality products. They also happen to produce the best vinyl wrap for cars and such, so I'm pretty sure they know their glue's very well. :p
Damnit linus... I was hoping you would give a negative/impractical review.. now i really want this setup...
Server room on fire... He predicted the future. Calling it.
Try track IR if a game supports it. It'll add to the immersion overall

You have the wheel set up as 90 degrees left + right = full deflection. no wonder :) You need to unlock 900 degree mode in the settings
Very excited to see the review of the Saitek x55, Linus. I'm considering which HOTAS to get for Star Citizen.
