I got war machine out of the spotlight cache also and I wanted to try out this same deck but sadly don’t have Jeff or legion :( I know there’s easy replacements for Jeff but legion is kinda needed
Legion is great, but not needed. You will win just as many if not more with professor X as a surprise play, I run this deck without Jeff (don't have him) but do play both X and legion. I only recently got legion, but my win rate hasn't gone up nearly as much adding him as it did with X
The Legion part is better for conquest than ranked, as few people will play the final turn if you get the full combo. X doesn't have that issue, people lose 1 lane but still have hope you don't infinaut
I've been trying out WM Storm Legion decks recently, and I've always wondered, is Infinaut worth running just because of WM? Because even with WM, a predictable 6/20 is not as ideal in many circumstances. With WM Legion, you don't really need Infinaut. And with just WM, Ebony Maw is often a much stronger and more flex payoff. And I've found people often play around Infinaut anyway, so bonus. My list is Nebula, Maw, Jeff, Armor (because this deck is quite weak to destroy), Star Lord (don't own Widow, else I'd play her), Storm, Cassandra Nova (stat-stick, good to play on 3 when I don't draw Storm, don't need to play on later turns usually), War Machine, Ms Marvel (good spread of costs, +Doom), Legion, Dr Doom, Alioth. Alioth is the only interaction piece in this deck, and feels much more necessary than Infinaut. Combo lists that need interaction pre-6 is annoying to beat, like Modok or Destroy; that's why Armor, but I don't have a good solution for Modok; Cosmo doesn't really fit the curve especially if I play Ms Marvel.

Hey, do you think at 7:20 Nebula left is safer because of Goose stops them playing big cards
