SoundCar Installed in a Walthers UP Baggage-Dorm Car

"I have installed a SoundCar decoder into a Walthers UP Baggage-Dorm car. This car was an ideal candidate for installation, as it has built-in power pickups for a drop-in lighting kit as well as the large blank interior area of the baggage section.
The SoundCar decoder was previously installed in a different piece of rolling stock that used a 21-pin connector. I took a 21-pin DC jumper plug that was removed from a different model, removed all the components from the circuit board, and then wired the SoundCar decoder to the appropriate legs of the 21-pin connector to create my own adapter. For this installation, I plugged that into a SoundTraxx JST-21PNEM adapter. This was wired to a SoundTraxx 28 mm round speaker contained in an enclosure from an Athearn model, and to the power pickups on the model. All wiring was tucked into the baggage section out of view of the windows and secured with tape." -Brian
