It'll probably stink but based on this trailer it looks better than the games in terms of humor and story. I played borderlands 1 and 2 and they never made me laugh or care for the story the least. It only got us because it had funny graphics at the time and was one of the few co op games there was half decent

Borderland's humor might entertain teenagers because, well, anything's funny to some teenagers as long as humor is implied. As for seriousness? Honestly I never saw that. I thought it was agreed to everyone playing those games that it's just mindless dumb fun? It never went for any greater heights than that.

Roland, Lilith, Tina & Krieg is such an odd combo of characters to choose. Also, It bugs me SO MUCH that Lilith doesn't have her Siren tattoos.

Not really actually. Tina was super close to Roland in the games. Roland and Lilith both held the roles of the leader. I'm just lost with krieg because he only joined them due to Maya

That was the joke in an of itself, Roland being a totally serious character even in comedic elements of the game- his VA is totally hilarious irl. I think it makes sense.

Exactly. Roland was not a comic relief character. Why not cast someone like Michale B. Jordan or Idris Elba? I could see both of them bringing comedy to their role while still remaining the "straight man" and being completely serious as the character.

So it's borderlands 1 story with some borderlands 2 characters and all of the weapon designs are from borderlands 3, the main Vilain isn't jack so tina should still have her parents, krieg doesn't meet Maya so his motivation to be a vault hunter doesn't really work, the only cast option I really actually agree with is tannis, I hope it's good but it doesn't sound like it's going to be

This looks like the producers just googled “popular borderlands characters,” randomly picked a handful, and then said “okay that’s all we need from the games!”

I agree 100%.I'm getting vibes that are similar to live action Cowboy Bebop. Amazing sets, music and wardrobe... but most likely gonna miss the mark on characters and have a weird deviated barstardized story for some reason.
Biggest thing I noticed this trailer is that Tiny Tina is not the same kinda optimistic wacko her character is in the games.

my reaction watching the Trailer a second time: "Fuck this Guy, He probably never played Uncharted or Borderlands trough." It´s actually a bad promotion for him in this Trailer, by giving me a list of things this guy messed up.
I'd loved have seen it go to Pete Travis, he directed Dredd, he kept the source material balanced and did research the novels and comics. I honestly don't know what happened to Eli Roth, I loved Hostel (weird I know) and Cabin Fever, it seems like he did the opposite of Robert Rodriguez in that he never stuck to his roots. I respect so much of his earlier work but this just seems like a paycheck. I know Tim Miller directed many of the re-shoots because Roth was finishing another movie, but the absolutely off the wall casting choices couldn't have helped. I didn't watch Uncharted or Monster Hunter, I'd watch Uwe Boll's awful takes on House of the Dead and Bloodrayne before I'd subject myself to those, heck Uwe even spliced actual game footage into his movie, that's some kind of source material right there.
@@GirlVersusGame Nope I would go with Guy Ritchie, Borderlands every game up to prequel plays itself out like a Guy Ritchie film, 3 was a bit of an oddity, in fact the 3rd game actually wasn't good the siren played like crap and had the personality of a stiff board, the enemies were terrible and the entire premise was shit and they drug the shit story out for way too long, literally they could have been a DLC.

Lilith and Tannis are two of my favorite characters, what the heck? This is like a Bizarro world version of old them. Might as well cast Ashley Burch as Tiny Tina if they were gonna age everyone (and shrink Roland). They also could have gone with Ain't No Rest for the Wicked or Short Change Hero for their trailer song... total misses on every level.
Frankly, just casting Ashley Burch would have been a better choice. At least it would be a nod to the fans

Whoever was in charge of casting for this needs to get fired ASAP. It’s like they jumped at the first A and B tier celebrities they could get and disregarded the backgrounds of every character. It’s a CGI robot with probably one the most iconic voice acting performances in all gaming history, why not… I dunno… CAST THE ACTOR YOU’VE CAST FOR CGI ROBOT THAT DOESN’T REQUIRE A LIVE ACTION STAND IN!
So help me god, BL3 was mid and the cherry on top better not be whatever shameless cash grab this is shaping up to be. I recommend you start recasting and reshooting ASAP. We did it for Sonic, now we gotta save a bunch of notable celebrities from getting curb stomped by the fanbase because of the brain dead director and his hellbent resolve on ruining one of the best game franchises ever.

like... considering borderlands lore and how it goes... Krieg and Roland kinda have no way of working togeter wich raise already majors flags on how lore acurate the movie will go
Krieg and Roland worked together throughout the entirety of Borderlands 2? Canonically Krieg saved Roland from the W4R-D3N, and helped Roland shut down Control Core Angel.
Not to mention Roland hunted the vault with Brick who was basically a bandit, and eventually was literally a bandit who fought the BNK3R with Roland.
People forget, but in the original Borderlands, many quest givers and NPCs were basically bandits with a horrible moral code. Roland was more against the perpetrators of the corporate wars than he was against any psycho.

Krieg's fighting was cool. I like the Tina actor. Kevin Hart doesn't seem to be going full Kevin which is good. Lilith's dialogue is kinda cringe, and I'm not sure about the casting choice of her or Tannis or Claptrap (even though I really like Blanchett Curtis and Black). The lack of Brick and Mordy is a bit disappointing, they never really got to do much after 2 besides Tales.
I think the issue y'all having is mostly the voices. Because if you slow it down to half speed, it actually looks more viable. Maybe try watching it on mute even.
