Fabulous footage!! There's nothing like that big bird taking off. I saw it in person and it's HUGE!! When it took off from where we were, you could feel the ground shake. Massive!
This is some of the best footage of AF1 ever shot! Well done the perfect 10! I was lucky to get some great shots of this back in July 1991 on it's first visit to LHR. This footage made my night!
+MrFlashjet - Heathrow Airport Archive ✈ Thank you so much for your incredibly kind comment on my video of Air Force One at London Stansted Airport. From a location and technical quality point of view this is definitely some of the best footage I've managed to capture. I am really pleased you enjoyed it and that you also managed to catch at LHR in '91. Sorry for my delay in replying. Thank you again.
+Leanne Boulton Hello Leanne, thanks a lot fo watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. I am pleased you enjoyed it. I'm grateful for your kind comment.

+UnitedFlyerHD Thanks a lot for taking time to watch and comment on my video of Air Force One & entourage departing London Stansted Airport, I am pleased you enjoyed it.
Well done mate, as i get it in this video we have seen a parade of whole US presidential fleet AF1, AF2 lots of presidential helicopters! All I can say is that this was one in a lifetime opportunity to have all of these birds in one place and that you can film them so nice. Huge, huge LIKE!!
+Alpha SiX Thanks a lot Alpha SiX I really appreciate your very kind comment on my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. It really was an unforgettable experience and I am extremely lucky to have seen the aircraft so close. Thank you for watching. +Hamburg Videos HD Thanks very much for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport, I am really grateful for the support. Sorry I took a while to reply.
Wonderful crisp and clean capture. Actually excellent viewing. A correction, however: no aircraft, even the Air Force 28000 VC-25, is given the callsign "One" until PotUS enters the aircraft. At that point the aircraft comm director, on a large bird like the Boeing, will announce to ATC, and whomever else they are required to make the announce, "We are now Air Force One." Once he leaves they revert to their ordinary callsign. Also from what I saw there were 2 type of "Nighthawk" aircraft, the "white side" choppers, which are for executive transport, and 2 "Osprey"s from "green side," call it the support side, both sides part of the USMC HMX-1 "Nighthawks" exec transport squadron. IF PotUS was flying aboard one of Ospreys that ship would then receive the call-sign, "Marine One." The "One" is not a permanent callsign but only transient. Incidentally, PotUS George Bush went aboard a carrier in a Viking aircraft. That aircraft was called "Navy One" during his transport. I am subscribed.
+DonLew L Thank you very much for your very detailed response regarding the use of call-signs. This is interesting and helpful to know. I have never been a follower of military aviation so my knowledge is far less than for the commercial side and I am far, very far, from expert in that. The main thing for me is to portray as accurate a story as I can with as much info as possible in a best quality as possible, however I am always happy to get corrections, especially when so eloquently told. Thanks again for this DonLew L and for subscribing too :-)
+John Ballantyne Hello John, thanks very much for watching and commenting on my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your help with regards to telling people when I was filming etc was really well appreciated. We only get one short window to get these shots and video picks up everything so it really did help. Always grateful for your support.
+Graham Aindow Thanks for watching my second instalment of President Obama's UK Trip via London Stansted. Rightly pointed out, this was filmed from the other side of the airport. I'm glad you enjoyed the up close views. Thanks again for taking time to watch both videos and to comment.
+Tim Armstrong Hi Tim, thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. It was the first time I'd seen the Osprey's and very interesting aircraft they are!, thanks for commenting, apologies for the delay in my reply.
+mghaz Thanks very much mghaz, your comment really touched me because you are absolutely right, it's a lot of hard work to pull these videos together so having that recognised means a lot. Thank you.

Hello Anthony, thanks very much for taking time to watch, and to comment on, my video of Air Force One at London Stansted Airport. I am pleased you enjoyed it and thank you for the support.
Where were the 2 heli,s and the heli plane going to fly to ,.not across the pond anyway .just wondering ..ps great Vid I seen them all there as I landed in stansted last fri morn ..
Hello Pete, thanks a lot for watching the video of Air Force One at London Stansted Airport. I am pleased you enjoyed it and thank you for the support.
+MBrown246 Thank you for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted MBrown246. Filming was from Aerozone. It must be made clear to anyone watching that this was a special permission and that the Aerozone is not usually available. If you, or anyone you knows visits London Stansted Airport, I would encourage you to join the Stansted Airport Police Planewatch scheme.
+Dc S Hi thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. Yes special permission was required to film in this location. The preferred location for spotting is Belmer Road.
I'm assuming you got permission to film such a high profile aircraft? I bet you were all watched over by snipers. Anyway, this is bloody amazing to have all this at your local airport. Did the other terminal operate as normal?
+EinkOLED Hi, Stansted Airport Police and Security Services were well aware of the high level of interest in this VIP movement. They, through Planewatch, were extremely helpful and supportive of planespotters - we act as additional eyes and ears of course. Security was very high. The airport briefly shuts down to incoming and outgoing aircraft whilst AF1 is on the move. Thanks for watching.
+Liam Hunter Indeed Liam, a lot of planning goes into the Presidential arrival; thing is it's not just him travelling, but press and support staff etc. I was amazed by the number of people that disembarked the Osprey aircraft! Thanks for watching.
+Sinead Holland Hello Sinead, do you work for H&E Observer? I have contacted them via FB but they haven't responded; although they did retweet. They will need to contact me directly please.
+Davin Ellicson Hello Davin, Air Force One was off to Germany. I believe the support aircraft headed to a military base before continuing their journey. The C-17 may have been used to ferry the vehicles.
+SuperMageo Hi, thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. The presidential entourage is very large and includes ground vehicles, staff, press, officials etc. The Ospreys are both support and defence aircraft.
The ospreys carry some presidential staff and white house reporters. They use them because they are faster so can leave after the president takes off and land anywhere before him. Also Pete the UK is very strict with dignitaries entering the UK with guns. The US wanted to bring a SUV with a mini gun on the back and they were told no, i believe they are only allowed handguns a half dozen rifles. If any of the secret service fire a weapon they will still be prosecuted.
+AndreiTupolev Hello AndreiTupolev thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. Without getting too political!! I believe whomever becomes US President will continue to use USAF/ Marines aircraft since they are highly specialised and configured both with safety and security in mind. They act as the 'mobile White House'. With a number of orders for the 747-8 to replace these 747-200 models I don't think there is a change to personal modes of transport in mind :-)
Thanks so much for watching my #Aviation Videos.

I was there that day although on the other side, I wasn’t a planewatch member at the time. It was an icy wind that day
A time when I felt so proud.
good video where did you film from ? did you need special permission ? i filmed from the other side : )
+Dc S Hi thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. Yes special permission was required to film in this location. The preferred location for spotting is Belmer Road.

Nice to see the business terminal
Was that the support 757 parked up at the beginning of the video?
+alan jackson The 757 has a military Boeing C-32A name, it is often used by US Secretaries of State and by FLOTUS - First Lady. Hope that helps.
Cant believe how much aircraft etc are used just for one man!!!!
+Liam Hunter Indeed Liam, a lot of planning goes into the Presidential arrival; thing is it's not just him travelling, but press and support staff etc. I was amazed by the number of people that disembarked the Osprey aircraft! Thanks for watching.
Can I share this on the Herts and Essex Observer's website, please?
+Sinead Holland Hello Sinead, do you work for H&E Observer? I have contacted them via FB but they haven't responded; although they did retweet. They will need to contact me directly please.
That Ryanair!
Where did the Osprey and helicopters fly to, waiting C-17 Globemasters?
+Davin Ellicson Hello Davin, Air Force One was off to Germany. I believe the support aircraft headed to a military base before continuing their journey. The C-17 may have been used to ferry the vehicles.
Not many things that the yanks get right but this entourage is is superb.
+alan jackson Play nice
How do they transport these helicopters?
they have massive number of c17 globe master for the two halo n cars. i think 6 c17 for all the official security vehicles.
Good times ….
Wow out of all i know about aviation I didn't know some helicopters can taxi lol
Is that an avenger from GTA!!!
why is there an osprey with the president?
+SuperMageo Hi, thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. The presidential entourage is very large and includes ground vehicles, staff, press, officials etc. The Ospreys are both support and defence aircraft.
Probably full of marines with big guns.
It would have been much cheaper hy Ryanair !
+meandmymouth Cheaper, but not quite the same! Maybe he could have used EI-SEV Ryanair's 737-700 in the business class layout though!
Will Pres. Trump use his personal 757?
+AndreiTupolev Hello AndreiTupolev thanks for watching my video of Air Force One departing London Stansted Airport. Without getting too political!! I believe whomever becomes US President will continue to use USAF/ Marines aircraft since they are highly specialised and configured both with safety and security in mind.
