it is hard to be scared of anubis when the guy playing his deck doesn't do any strategizing. in multiple points in the duel, it was possible for anubis' deck to run away with the game however the pilot misplayed a number of times, from not reading his own cards, to not using curse of anubis on the oppoenent's turn to make it so he could use androphynx to run over a powerful monster.
This episode was amazing for so many reasons, honestly- MBT’s impression, the insane anime combos with these awful decks- but that final play of using exchange to correctly guess ordeal, that’s a straight up Yami Yugi move. That would literally be the game-winning move in an episode of the anime. Insane
@@557deadpool Well, they changed Yugi Grandpa's deck when they made that episode. I know because in Yu-Gi-Oh Season 1 Yugi's Grandpa ran 45 cards and all of them got used in Duelist Kingdom at least once. I did not see a single Dark Magician or a Summon Skull in that episode. So, they do change up the decks slightly when making these episodes.
Man MBT must have been on cloud nine today after having to play that terrible Jaden deck last time. He actually got to MAKE plays, and do sick combos. Good duels both of you.
Pyramid Of Light is definitely an iconic movie. I watched it back in 2005 and seeing the brand new monsters at the time was fantastic and so was this duel. MBT has that energy that matches Sam without a problem. 👍

One problem: in the movie, the pyramid of light immediately destroys the God cards, so there is still a theoretical chance Anubis could beat yugi without the God cards in his deck - but that's still comically unlikely.

The Sphinx's could be used as tribute fodder for Exodd Summoning without giving up Guardian Sphinx(they have Sphinx in the name, so it was a weird little Wording loophole) and I still think Ordeal is a viable Trap card to this day ....

I remember getting the dark eradicator warlock when I went and saw the movie. Since I am a dark magician Fanboy for life I was super hype. Especially since my grandma, who took me and my brother and our friend to go see the movie, suggested we didn't open are booster packs until after the movie. So we watched the movie first and got Hyped for the new monsters and then we all opened our booster packs.
That was honestly worse Sphinx handling than I latter the week when everyone was trying to make these cards work at our high school dueling table. XD Like some of the deck choices were good, Cat of Ill Omen and Guardian Sphinx both solid, but where were your generic beast supports? There's plenty of spell and traps that make the Sphinxes go absolutely insane if you just focus on them as Beast types. XD I even made it work in Duel Links with RACOONS of all things.

I really liked the sphinx cards from the old structure deck fortress with exxod, would love to see some more support, the guardian sphinx got a newer version if im right =) sadly the fortress structure deck with exxod was/is just bad ;D but really loved the sphinx with bouncing back on the hand... don´t know what i think about the anubis sphinx ;D another cool card i would love to see more from are the Primineral Ape cards =)

I remember the day I saw the movie. Went to the theater with my parents and brothers and we got the booster packs with our tickets and opened them the second we got them
Traditional Sphinx decks are OK and can be fun if you like a challenge. I ran a deck a time ago that involved the three sphinx and gods to lock down the field. It sounds hard to pull off, but with those 6 being my staple monsters I formulated a very messed up strategy(this was before synchro and XYZ) that involved negates on my opponent, and bouncing/banishing any monsters I could, buying time (in a very annoying way) until I could have all three sphinx and two gods on the field. Sadly in modern Yugioh it doesn't work well. I still have the deck list if anyone is interested to try it out on a friend. It is quite the challenge though.
Guardian Sphinx was a bain of school yard Yu-Gi-Oh existence. The only guy who gave me a run had a similar deck to me with Sphinx. We both played Horus The Black Flame Dragon and were removal and negate heavy. Whoever set up the fastest won.
Sam did you know that blue eyes shinning when you got it in the movie booster was basically useless as ult blue eyes was released a couple of years later
I was there when they did this for Twich everyone in chat told MBT to use Exchange for game chat was right but had to wait like I believe 2 or 3 turns to use it

Anubis that TSX1 for his deck doesn't have a destroyed his magic or trap cards from itself than his enemy Ouo.... that was one big mistake from TSX1. Trust me i know =u= b
i had that deck once before and none of my opponents beat me...if it were me in control instead of sam...i would of won, he also forgot thenen's effect of paying 500 LP to become 7000 ATK plus he had ordeal of a traveler which can be used as long as the other player keeps attacking

i had that deck once before and none of my opponents beat me...if it were me in control instead of sam...i would of won, he also forgot thenen's effect of paying 500 LP to become 7000 ATK plus he had ordeal of a traveler which can be used as long as the other player keeps attacking
