I like how they handled the dialogue in 4. The town felt very alive and the characters very connected. Don't think I've ever seen something like that in any other game. Made me want to talk to every NPC every day just to see what they had to say, or what conversations they might have. Also, 4's gameplay is the best. But overall, I think I liked Frontier the most. Edit: Still have to play the first game though...

I am buying a switch just for rune factory 5. That’s how much this game series impacted my childhood! When I heard they went bankrupt and wouldn’t make more rune factory games I was devastated, but I never gave up hope! This game series contained everything I loved, dating sim, farming and dungeons! It’s just so golden 😣
Well there's a game for everyone. I too purchased the system mainly for one game but... There's a lot of interesting games on Switch. Was this really your ONLY reason to buy one? I have like 30+ games in my Switch library already lol
Watching them all back to back, I think RF4's opening is actually the best. The music is a perfect blend of peaceful and adventurous. The animation is pretty and actually goes with the song, and it doesn't give too much screentime to any one bachelorette...Which the first two, as cute as they are, are very guilty of.
This reply is late asf but I think the biggest issue they had was translating the songs to english in Rune factory 1 2 and 3 for NA/europe versions of the game. The 3rd one doesn't sound so bad in english but the 1st one is absolutely hard to understand what they're even saying in english. I also love rune factory 4's soundtrack. I suggest checking the rf4 special new opening too that ones fantastic

RF2 and 3's first openings STILL give me chills years later, they're so good! RFO's first one is visually stunning! RF4's gives me such a Lion King vibe, I love it
While Oceans and Frontier will always be my favourite, I have to say that RF4's opening is my favourite. It gives off that.... Adventurous feel. And it shows off the characters in a very good way while clearly showing which ones are the ones you can marry in a way.
I think RF3 was my favorite although I couldn't play as a girl. I really loved Gaius and Raven, they were my favorite characters. Rf4 is fun too but I prefer 3. Havent played Frontier yet.

Mikau Black Runeys are evil incarnate. I didn't figure them out until after they had gone extinct. The dolphin emulator should let you use cheats to avoid dealing with them. Type in a code to get prosperity.
explodofart I actually started using a code to always have Max Runeys 80% through the game. It definitely allowed me to finish up the Snow Ruins with a much more relaxed pace. In all seriousness, the Runey system is a total chore and actually is broken, I'm glad they didn't use it again in later games.

I loved all the rune factories but to this day Frontier was my favorite and playing the protag from the first game was sick to me, really happy to find out we are getting another console runefactory.
I wish I could go back in time when I was a child playing rune factory frontier and rune factory 2 😭 I was so obsessed with the iris twins and the singing in that plaza. I cried so much in the rune factory 2 plot when the dad goes missing and loved the marriage aspect even the little play marriage as the kid.
my first ever rune factory was 2, my brother decided to pick it up then me and my other brother got it too, that was back idk 2008 maybe. we got rf1 right after and have been dedicated ever since, im proud to say rune factory was a big part of my childhood and I hope for the day when rf5 isnt just a pipe dream.

The first game that got me into the rune factory series was tides of destiny because of the damn addiction! i managed to clock in over 250 hours in that game. After i beat the game, i began to hunt down all three rune factory for the ds and frontier. I remember when i had to track every gamestop just to look for a complete copy of each game. it was so hard to find since most gamestop just threw away the case and instruction menu :( luckily i managed to find them all in perfect condition! I just beat frontier and currently playing rune factory 4, and looking forward to play 1,2,3 in the future. One of my favorite series so far ^^
Rune Factory 4 has to be one of the best games I have ever played. Even thought I beat Rune Prana I'm still playing and can't stop myself lol 😆. I've played the DS ones, but I want ToD.
rune factory series is so amazing, marsterpiece, really! My fave franchishe ever! rune factory 3 and 4 are the most fun to play, but rune factory 2 had such a great impact to me the time, the game is amazing, really! i even beat RF3 in japanese without understanding a single word bc i couldnt hepl myself waiting for the english version! Each new realese the game got better and better. It's a shame that we probably wont have a rune factiry 5 but i still have hope.

小学生の頃に新牧場物語やって、バグ多いしレベル全然上がらないし難しかったけど、面白くて、それから2,3,フロンティア、オーシャンズ、4ってやってルンファク大好きになったのに、もう続編出ないって知ってものすごくショックだった。仕方ないことだけど寂しかった。同じスタッフが制作した禁忌のマグナもやったけど、物足りなくて、ルンファクの世界観が大好きでシリーズを何周もプレイした。
1年前にルンファク5制作決定したってきいた時は驚いて夢みたいでとにかく嬉しかった。大好きな作品をもう一度プレイできるんだって。でもそれから5の情報が全く出なくて、不安で、毎日ルンファク5で検索かけてた。
そしてついに。ルンファク5来年の春。よかった。泣いた。予定より遅れたけど全然いい。8年に比べたらすぐだもん。まてるよ。まつよ。ありがとうルンファクシリーズ。一生ついていきます。大好き！

当時の記憶蘇って泣いた。2のオープニングが一番好き。1と2の曲今でもほとんど歌詞覚えてて歌えたことにビックリ。キャラクターとストーリーは4が至高だけど1と2をやり込んだ記憶が一番強い。あとオーシャンズの季節や海を感じる美しいグラフィックに当時凄く感動した。ルンファク永遠に大好き。

I loved all the rune factories but to this day Frontier was my favorite and playing the protag from the first game was sick to me, really happy to find out we are getting another console runefactory.

I wish I could go back in time when I was a child playing rune factory frontier and rune factory 2 😭 I was so obsessed with the iris twins and the singing in that plaza. I cried so much in the rune factory 2 plot when the dad goes missing and loved the marriage aspect even the little play marriage as the kid.
Im just going to say Rune Factory 4s opening is the best because it was the only one so beautiful and amazing it made me want to cry.

my first ever rune factory was 2, my brother decided to pick it up then me and my other brother got it too, that was back idk 2008 maybe. we got rf1 right after and have been dedicated ever since, im proud to say rune factory was a big part of my childhood and I hope for the day when rf5 isnt just a pipe dream.

懐かしいなあ……2しかやってないんだけどすごくやり込んでたしキャラデザとかストーリーも好きで、主人公を気に入りすぎて子供操作になってから寂しくて仕方なかったなあ……ずっと話しかけに行ってた……。ただバグも多くて道じゃないところにワープしてるの本当やめてほしかった記憶がww
Favorite song: RF 3 first opening, the more catchy of them all IMO.
Favorite animation: Frontier, because all girls get at least a moment in the spotlight.

Rune factory 1: Great 1st game, but has some down side like.... glitches....
Rune factory 2: A great seqeul but for me it was soo slow
Rune factory Frontier: Basicaly remove everything bad from RF1 and take everything good from RF2
Rune factory 3: A amazing game with the best Female character to marry(Seriously everyone is soo good, i dont think waifu war even exist XD )
Rune factory tides of destiny/Oceans: A good game to calm down.... *Proceed to destroy the Legendary Golem that apparently had destroyed the world before* nevermind
Rune factory 4: A great game that was accualy bring back the true villian(Which was Ethelberd from the very 1st game) and.... yeah i got nothing else because its soo good :P

The first game that got me into the rune factory series was tides of destiny because of the damn addiction! i managed to clock in over 250 hours in that game. After i beat the game, i began to hunt down all three rune factory for the ds and frontier. I remember when i had to track every gamestop just to look for a complete copy of each game. it was so hard to find since most gamestop just threw away the case and instruction menu :( luckily i managed to find them all in perfect condition! I just beat frontier and currently playing rune factory 4, and looking forward to play 1,2,3 in the future. One of my favorite series so far ^^
Rune Factory 4 has to be one of the best games I have ever played. Even thought I beat Rune Prana I'm still playing and can't stop myself lol 😆. I've played the DS ones, but I want ToD.

rune factory series is so amazing, marsterpiece, really! My fave franchishe ever! rune factory 3 and 4 are the most fun to play, but rune factory 2 had such a great impact to me the time, the game is amazing, really!
i even beat RF3 in japanese without understanding a single word bc i couldnt hepl myself waiting for the english version!
Each new realese the game got better and better. It's a shame that we probably wont have a rune factiry 5 but i still have hope.

Fabio Yuji Shibuya its true that frontier has good animation or the graphics (I don't know about the others tho) but sometimes its just annoying in balancing runeys and its getting boring once you finished all events especially the main plot. I just hope RF4 is different with RFF.
