Great stuff, FFG you MUST (urg, caps since we have no bold on youtube!) produce more videos like this. It really gives your excellent line of LCGs the prestige they deserve. A:NR is one of the finest games of our time and it needs the appropriate coverage. Both of these commentators were nice, competent guys, but as they pointed out they were tired. I'm sure people at FFG are aware of Team Covenant's excellent Netrunner videos. If you're not, please check them out. The commentary is excellent and the presentation of both Agendas and Credits is very helpful. A lot of criticism there, but it is meant in the best way. Thank you so much for uploading this - well worth my subscription :)
Just thinking the same thing. The commentators here are ok, but I feel more personable character with Team Covenant's plays; also, having the card out on screen to remind yourself of is excellent, (and yes, I do appreciate this is live, but would have been a good addition in the edit ;) )
The TC guys are great, but this is a live event running over the course of 4 days with on the fly graphics, a multiple camera rig set up (5 to be specific) and live hosting. TC does everything in post, from voice over to graphics.
Jeremy Johnson Yeah, this was a live event that took place in their game store in Roseville, MN. I was able to go this year and it was pretty damn awesome.
Jeremy Johnson This was captured from their live Twitch feed from Worlds. FFG did a great job really, including bringing in the TC guys to do commentating for a lot of games.
Twitchy Magic players always do this. Sometimes it's just a kind of nervous fiddling, sometimes it can distract an opponent. Shuffling the cards in hand after drawing and before playing is intended to keep card flow hidden.
Dtrollmancan I have been playing with the same set of cards for a long time now. Even the Jacksons are in perfect shape. Funny thing about cards: they bend back :)
On leaving a Snare where it is, I can think of one possible reason, depending on the exact rules. If it's in archives, Jackson (or similar cards) can shuffle it back into the deck. If the corp can only trash their own snare by installing another card in the same server (which I believe the rules state), then they might have to play a card they wouldn't have otherwise wanted to play in that server (either because it's underprotected, or because it's overprotected!). It seems like an edge case, but if you think the corp isn't running Shell Corporation (which maybe didn't exist during this video?), I'm not sure there's any particular reason *to* trash it from a remote.
What's with all the fiddling with the cards during and not during their turns? Is this gamemanship (try to annoy the other player) or is this some sort of common "move" by world-class netrunner players?
its to make sure the opponent can't track your cards. for example, if the runner searches for a breaker, and doesn't shuffle, then the other guy would know whether he played a breaker he drew or the breaker he searched for.
Perhaps, but they shuffle a lot more than is necessary to obfuscate the contents of their hand. I guess it becomes a nervous habit, like saving a spreadsheet obsessively. (I do that at work sometimes.)
Does anyone know where I can buy the tokens they use for credits? I would definitely like to buy some. Looked on FFG website and didn't see them there.
I think Minh was using LITKO laser cut acrylic tokens for clicks, and maybe the FFG acrylic credit tokens from the first Game Night Kit (out of print). Broken Egg and Team Covenant sell similar acrylic tokens as well.
Commentators: "He trashes the snare...Which he has no reason not to do!" "Yeah I cant think of many instances where I want to leave a snare where it is!". SERIOUSLY? And they got these guys to commentate the WORLD FINALS? Yeah cos trashing it doesn't allow Jackson to put it back into circulation and be used again or anything... I mean, even Dan himself says clearly "That was a mistake!!"...
im not too impressed with the commentary. They seem to not fully understand the rules. For instance they talk about the traps and shocks being a reason not to do security testing, but sectest replaces access so there is no interaction there (in fact sectest makes you able to put pressure on archives even when there are shocks)
Cheat/miscalculation located! At 1:01:32, Dan have 8 credits total when he installs ICE over HQ, That should cost him 2 credits witch he dies not spend. Then he takes the 2 credits from Sundew. Forgetting to pay the two credits for the ICE, he ends up with 10 credits. He should only be on 8!
Watching this on Oct. 2019. The memories....

Yes! Please post more things to UA-cam!
I'd love to see more of these but please upload them in 1080p next time :)
Jinteki in the finals for BOTH players? Woot, awesome to see this Corp. is catching up :D

But we *do* have *bold* on youtube!
SchizoidPersonoid I bow to your knowledge sir.
This is cool but Fantasy Flight still has a long way to go until they produce at the same quality of Team Covenants coverage.
Also I find it strange they commentate live, does anyone know if they streamed this live?

+Sasha Cooper Oops, they said this 5 minutes after the point in the video that prompted my comment :\
I loved watching Minty rip apart Dandy's runner deck for the win.
looking for a card game with a large community other than magic, have any idea?
thank you so freaking much for the vid

What card did he design?

of course that could just be from the taxing hours
I thought the max hand size was 5? Why does the corp have more?
Max hand at end of turn. You can draw more than that during.
does anybody know the decklists?

He installed the ice and took two credits for the turn netting zero. No error occurred.
Ah of course! Sorry, didn't catch that one!
Can you also put the final match from warhammer 40k conquest?
Heh friend of mine splits and bends them horrendously and snaps them back together just to hear the gasps from other magic players
