This is a November '83 episode of the American TV show "Fandango" (a music-styled quiz show in the 80s) and the three players competing are Carolyn, Michael & Betty. 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
@Hosts At Home my stepmom was on the show in 1984 . If you or anyone can find her episode I'd be so happy. Her name is Evealine and I don't remember the other contestants names on her episode.
This was a great game Show on TNN back in the day hosted by country Legend and great songwriter Bill Anderson Gary Beatty the voice Edgar the talking jukebox help Bill keep things moving along Gary Beatty was also the announcer on Ralph Emery's program called Nashville now and also I loved the theme music to this show 😀.
This is so cool. I'm not a country music expert, but I really liked this game show. After watching your "Hosts At Home" episode with Mr. Bill Anderson, I searched for episodes of "Fandango" on You Tube and there's not many episodes out there...surprisingly. Thank you for posting this studio master of what appears to be a first season episode.
"what appears to be a first season episode"? Not to embarrass you but you did see the date info at the top of the page and before the episode started, no?
I always thought of Fandango like a country music version of jeopardy. Bill Anderson was seriously underrated as a game show host. I knew nothing about country music and still know little now, but I liked this show. Back when The Nashville Network was in its heyday.
Reid/Land productions... I guess they were the Goodson-Todman of TNN game shows? I've never seen an episode of this show before, but I liked it. Wouldn't mind seeing more.
Reid/Land’s only game shows were Fandango, Top Card, and 10 Seconds; they produced a majority of other shows for TNN as shown here: ua-cam.com/video/J17V4-Picmo/v-deo.html
I really enjoyed this. I've seen quite a few episodes of Fandango but I don't think I've seen one this early in the run, nor have I seen one that was pretty much a train wreck like this one was. It was very fun though, and Bill Anderson and Edgar were able to handle it well.
Adam! This is such a nice surprise after a morning of lecturing! I love this show and so nice to see another episode, especially a studio master! You are the man! Hope you’re staying safe and well!
i wonder if they edit the masters when there are some goof ups. they always say '' the program, not affecting the outcome of the game, has been edited''.
The original airdate for this show is probably between March 5-August 31, 1984(more likely March 5-June 1, 1984), since it has a 1984 copyright, the show bowed in March 1983, and those would have been the airdates of the second season.
@@jwgreek8606 I wish they would come back in reruns! When TNN came back (which became Heartland Network), they were only allowed to show shows owned by TNN (these were produced by an outside company).
Thank you for posting this. A great surprise after I found out my best friend from high school who also lived in Nashville by the way died in a car wreck.

I only remember Bill Anderson when he worked with Goodson-Todman as a celebrity on their game shows.

Wow! You just brought back so many memories for me! I watched this every day.
The THEME MUSIC For some reason rang with me as a Little kid.
This is awesome! What an unexpected surprise. Thanks a lot for posting this :)
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed!
Just got to thinking. Fandango is the longest running game show in the history of TNN. It ran longer than Top Card and 10 seconds combined!

Carolyn looks like Angela Lansbury!
Mike looks like a down-home version of Greg Brady!
My uncle may he Rip was on that show wish I could find the copy of it

Do you have a copy of his autobiography? Also do you have the short-lived BET game show on the beat?
For an early popular cable game show, surprised there haven't been any reruns of this.
Shoot when TNN came back in 2012 I am surprised that it did not come back along with Top Card and Ten Seconds!

@@hostsathome7390 I can’t believe it wasn’t owned by TNN. Wow.
Neither can I
Im betting the music rights clearances have this show vaulted for eternity.

Always liked this show...I wasn't good at it, though😅
5:54 And it'd be covered and popularized by Whitney Houston nine years later.
I'm autistic. Do you have "Scream For Millions" the Maryland lottery game show special?
Tom Jones was never a country singer
In the 80s he did record a few country albums and had a handful of hits on that chart.
