    I wonder if people get to the park and think “wait a minute, if I just reserved a hotel room for the day, we all get express passes included?” I mean, even if the room jumps up to around $800.00/night, peak express passes can be $360/person. Doing theme park math that’s a potential savings of $640.00 AND you’d have a hotel room to get out of the heat for a break. Molly, you’re a genius!

    I love the PSAs. It's good to have reminders like that. Honestly, sometimes my wife and I will be doing something and not even realizing we're inconveniencing others. We've both had moments where one of us has said to the other "Hey, we need to move, we're being the people that are in the way of others"

    Universal definitely has the superior system. The free unlimited with the deluxe resort stay, is perhaps the best hotel perk ever. We used it at Thanksgiving and never had a wait time more than 15 minutes. There was only one issue, it was for Seuss Sky High Trolly even with express it still had hour wait, but they always had cast members there to give heads up.

    My family and I were there this week - in fact we are in your video! My husband and I are both teachers so unfortunately we can only travel at break and summer = all the busy times.
    1 - I’m so sad I didn’t see you because you have literally taught me everything I know about Disney and Universal over the last 4 years! 🥺 ❤
    2 - This week was insane with crowds! We did not have express passes 😔 We saw how many express they let on before the regular line which I believe is why the regular line is so slow while the express is not at all. And Hagrid’s single rider line was amazing when it was open - we rode it 3 times in less than an hour!
    This was our first universal trip and seeing how the express pass works we said we’d never go again without it! My husband did not pack his patience pants for these crowds 😂

    I love that you mentioned in the velocicoaster line the lockers give you 3 options for remembering you locker (color, number, picture). Like universal truly thought how can we make this easy for everyone and gave options for multiple types of people to remember!

    One of the tips that I learned from you, Molly, was that the express passes at the premiere hotels are always good for at least 2 days -the first day you check in all the way through the entire day you check out. That means you can go to the hotel at the crack of dawn, check in and leave your luggage at luggage services and get your express pass and head to the park. Then when you come back after
    4:00pm (or whatever actual hotel check in time is) you just pick up your room key and go to your room!

    This video is great! I'm going in May with my parents and we're staying at Hard Rock 2 nights for this exact reason. They don't do well with queuing and it means we can have as relaxing a time as possible (hopefully make use of the hotel pool in the evening!). It also means I can head in early in the morning, get the rides done that they don't want to do, then meet up with them without them having to wait around as long for me.

  • @talulashippe
    @talulashippe Рік тому +3

    Girl, I cannot even tell you how incredibly lucky my boyfriend and I felt after a Thursday-Friday stint at the parks over St. Patty's Day.
    We THOUGHT we'd be hammered with spring break crowds and yet everything was golden. No express passes either. We got EPA from staying at Surfside and hit IOA on Friday morning, finishing BOTH Hagrids and Velocicoaster before the park even opened. I still can't believe it, honestly. During the whole Universal trip, I think our longest wait was 55 minutes.
    Even still, you have been an amazing resource leading up to the trip. Learning to intuitively use the app, familiarizing myself with the quiet pockets and the best cuisine, we lived like a king and queen in the parks. You are amazing, keep doing what you do best! ♥

    • @talulashippe
      @talulashippe Рік тому

      And for those who are curious what the key is, to making the most out of the EPA: we did NOT wait for the shuttles in the morning. Take an Uber and head to Citywalk security by 7am when they open. Getting to the park turnstiles for a position to be among the EPA first is absolute key. Both days they opened 15 minutes early too, so the wait is not terrible. We were out of Hagrids by 8:15 and out of Velocicoaster by 8:45, and the girls I rode with on the latter said they were heading to Hagrids second. The wait for Hagrids at 8:45 was already 180 minutes (poor things). SO! Get your Starbucks and your Uber, cause that early start will COMPLETELY make your day. Promise.

    Love this so much!!! I have to admit, when we did our first ever Universal trip last year, I had no clue what to expect for Universal. And while we bought the express passes and read tips, we were SO overwhelmed with the two parks as first timers in a big group! There was so much to see and we didn't know how to best tackle everything in the one day we had. Can't wait for more videos on Universal and the best way to do as much as possible le in these parks! We would also love to see the Hard Rock!!

      It’s the one my family always stays at and we have for years! It’s amazing! The perks are great, the resort is beautiful, and it’s walking distance from the parks, and the boats are great too if you don’t feel like walking.

    • @michelle1
      @michelle1 Рік тому

      Beautiful resort..smells like plumerias when you enter. Small enough that, no matter which room you get, you are not too far from the elevator. (But get a room near an elevator in building 3 for closest access to water taxis, which let you not only get to the parks in a fun and relaxing way, but avoid security at the parks). Tip: You can check in at 6:30 am before your room is ready and get to the parks for early entry with the Express Pass on your check in AND out day :)

      We just stayed at the Royal Pacific and we loved it! I will say as we've stayed at all the Universal hotels this one makes the least sense with the boat for me because it's at the back of the property so the time it takes you to walk to the boat from most places is the same time to just walk to the parks, but I love a good relaxing boat ride so I still did it lol

    The PSAs are one of my favorite things you do. It's easy to get overwhelmed while at parks, and forget to build in habits for navigating lockers and so on, especially during extremely busy times.
    Video request: It'd be great if you talked about where elevators are at certain attractions. That spiral staircase really had me wondering if wheelchair users or other people with different mobility issues find the Gringotts ride accessible.

    We live in Georgia and upgraded our Universal Annual Passes to Premier when we came for Spring Break on 4/2... No clue why we only did Preferred before... Saving 15% off of food and retail - getting Prime Parking - and Express after 4:00pm... A few days, we got there close to 4:00pm so we could just walk on the rides and we hardly waited for anything... We also caught the Mario movie two days in a row at Cinemark CityWalk... Ate at NBC Grill three days in a row - and STILL rode everything at Universal and Islands before they closed. Not to mention, my son felt like royalty walking past those long lines, even if he didn't say it - LOL!
    I highly recommend purchasing the Premier Annual Pass if you are visiting the parks for more than one day... It will save you so much money in the long run, and you can come back whenever you'd like... We are heading back after school lets out at the end of May...
    P.S. The single rider lines (when available) is a great option as well - you can still stand in line with your party, but will likely be separated - however it saves a ton of time and is very useful if you don't have Express before 4:00pm.

      I was there mid week during Spring Break and it sold out...over $300 for the day! Yet, if you upgraded your park day ticket to a premiere pass, in many cases, it would have been the same (or perhaps less) and you would get the EP after 4 pm, then also get all the Premiere Pass AP discounts (and a free ticket to HHN later this year). Prices for EP were crazy ..but so were the crowds!

    Hey Molly, you should mention that if you have a medical device, like an insulin pump that needs to be removed to go through the metal detectors, they will take you up the back way on the Hulk and Velocicoaster and have you put your pump in a locker right by where you load the coaster. It was really nice because we shouldn't be disconnected from insulin very long and as soon as you put your pump in the locker, you are on the next ride. I really appreciated that because otherwise I might have been without insulin for another half hour after the lockers!

    I can't say enough good things about the UOAP. A 2-park Premium AP (non-Florida resident) is about $850 with all fees and taxes. The math may or may not work depending on any one person's needs, but with early park admission, Express lane access after 4PM, and the food, merch and hotel discounts (plus a free Halloween Horror Nights ticket), it's arguably the sleeper value hit for anyone planning on spending more than 4 days a year at the Universal parks. I wasn't entirely sure that Express pass after 4 would be all that useful but I just spent 5 days with tens of thousands of spring breakers, and the Express lane and early park admission perks made life so simple.

    Our last trip....we got a room at the "Holiday Inn across from Universal" the night before our check-in day....got up crazy early and went to checked in and dropped off our luggage at the Hard Rock to get the express passes added to our tickets for our early hours...got two full days of express with only one night of Premier Resort expense...and in two days we were able to ride most every ride we wanted multiple times... Which means you, in theory, can reduce your total number of days needed (ticket/resort stay/etc) to help offset the added expense.

    I can't stress enough just how much you'll want to have this express pass if you can. It is expensive, but as Molly said, it comes with your stay at one of the premiere resorts, so while you pay more for the stay, add up how much it is at a different resort or offsite hotel, if it makes monetary sense, stay at a nice one if ya can. We booked at the Potifino Bay for my birthday trip and had a GREAT time. NOTE, the Express Passes are ONLY for the parks regular hours, so if you have an after hours event like the Halloween Horror Nights, you'll have to purchase yet ANOTHER Express Pass for that....Though we found the lines were quite tolerable, and the single rider lines were even quicker than the Express Pass would have been during the night we went.
    And since I mentioned it and Molly asked, do a Stay-Cation video at Portifino Bay... TREAT YOUR SELF!!

    Be great if you could go to Royal Pacific again Molly. Last time you went there on video was, I believe, during covid?
    I’m planning on staying there for a night in November for the express pass, and another two nights then at Cabana Bay.
    The queen of Orlando theme park videos - who isn’t just out for spoilers and clicks, but genuinely informative and engaging. One of us! Delighted the channel has gone so well for you.

    We got an airdrop while at Tokyo Disney- it was a meme loosely translating “I lived a good life if something happens.” And it was before riding space mountain 😅

    Hi! Coaster nerd here. As soon as Molly said that Velocicoaster was having technical difficulties my enthusiast brain went off “well of course, it’s an Intamin”😹
    Intamin is the ride manufacturer that built Velocicoaster, and Hagrid’s (in collaboration with the Universal team of course). They build amazing rides but they are notorious for breaking down often😹😹.
    P.s.: love your channel, watch it all the time! Keep up the great work!

    I think the Hard Rock is the best of the "expensive, express pass" hotels because you can walk on to the plaza in front of Universal Studios and access everything within a very short walking distance by going out behind the pool area. Pool also plays cool music and kids love the slide and fountains (balls with water coming out) and then easy access into the pool. I wish they did not use red paint on the mirrors in the rooms, the first time we went, I thought it was blood, UGH! LOL ***But other than that, we love that hotel!!
    I hope others will like it when you do the video.

    I agree that the Express Pass is way better than Disney's system. Why in the world would I want to be on my find all day while I'm on vacation or stress myself out trying to get a virtual line ticket. ugh!

    Express Pass is far, far, far superior to Genie+, and even FastPass before it. The ease of use makes it worth every penny. I wish Disney would adopt a similar system, including comping it for deluxe resort guests.

    One of my tips is to come on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s not very busy so you might not need express pass. Also you can stay there for 1 or two days for a vacation! 😊😊

    100% recommend the exclusive hotels if possible for the included unlimited express pass. Small thing also but the water taxi to the City Walk is very convient without having to worry about any other means of transportation. Also private security checkpoint just feel good too! Went on Velocicoaster 10 times with my 4 days at the park!

    Just one quick thing, when you stay on property at a nicer hotel, the express passes are limited to 4 people in the room. If you have a 5th, they charge you. Just happened a month ago to us

    This is so helpful! I hope you plan this at Disney world too. I'm going at the end of April bc I thought it'd be slower post spring break and post 50th but since they announced tron and I found out part of my trip overlaps with the cheer competitions, I'm worried it's gonna be way busier. Any tips on managing theme parks when busy is super helpful!
    Love this vid thanks Molly!

    I went to both parks this year for my college spring break aka a week before the Florida schools went on break. Got everything done in both parks only like 5 hours a day in each park with the express pass. Went on velocicoaster twice in under an hour. Also we got a hotel room. Totally worth it.
