Thanks, Mike. I provide tech support to a disabled person and I have been trying to find a way to be able to provide support without having to be on site without too much complexity and reasonable security. Tailscale might be an option.
How can Tailscale and VPN solutions of its type help with mobile devices such as iPhones using the Internet securely over an untrusted hotspot? Can Tailscale be used to remote into a ChromeOS computer without someone on the other end launching Chrome Remote Desktop? I have elderly parents to whom I have setup Chromebooks. This has worked very well until they don't know how to do something on the computers. It would be great if I can simply remote in to their ChromeOS machines and show them how to do something.
The first question is it really can't from what I have seen. I have not tried the sub router option and will let you know when I do. Tailscale is design to give you secure access to from client to a network device but not to tunnel all your internet traffic. As for the second question, absolutely. ChormeOS can run Android apps and the Tailscale app for Android can be installed on ChromeOS. You will need a remote client or browser extension but it should work fine.
@@MikeFaucher I have qnap and i want to allow my family to use the vpn but the government is blocking it. currently openvpn is being block and qvpn doesn't work. Is there any way to make the vpn work using my qnap? thanks
