I'm back to say this video (and the whole set) is epic. You are such a fantastic teacher. Just saw my previous comment from years ago. Came back to this video because I figured out that pinching the area which is my armpit really firmly was great for the rest of my back. Now I know why! Origins and insertionnnnsss. LOL. Such a great series. Ever grateful.

This is the most educational video on the proper way to give a massage I’ve ever seen! I absolutely love that you drew out the muscles on her back for us to visually see, I’ve never seen that done before, well done!👏🏼
I absolutely loved this video. I have scoliosis and work in front of the computer all day, and you touched on all my knots and trigger points! So enlightening to see what my physiotherapist is doing back there and visualizing the muscles. And the best part, soooo interesting to hear about the nervous system too. I don't think most physios and massage therapists learn this nowadays. For most of my life I learned to champion through the horrible pain of a deep tissue massage, with countless therapists. Then my last physiotherapist just took it over the edge for me. For over a year she pushed on those trigger points with all her strength and there was just no progress, I just kept getting worse! But I used to think there was no other way around it. It wasn't until very recently that I found a new therapist that works differently and didn't put me through that suffering and worked the fascia and knew about not triggering my nervous system and my brainwashed self was skeptical at first but I'm finally starting to feel better and I now just want to send this video to every therapist I've ever known! 😂 THANK YOU!
I am happy to read that you found a therapist that doesn’t over work you & is helping you!!!! I’m sorry for the pain you’ve been through! I have a video that explains the physiological laws of neuromuscular. I’m sharing it here ua-cam.com/video/UJNYj0BgYms/v-deo.html

Welcome to my channel & thank you for your support. There are several things to consider when choosing a massage therapist career. I suggest you ask as many questions as possible & if I can help you with any please ask. It’s important to weight the pros/cons for each individual person. Everyone has different needs/wants. I’ve been a massage therapist for 32yrs & I don’t regret it. I have a college degree yet I chose to stay in this career. I’ve had a lot of flexibility in setting my schedule and not stressed had I chosen to teach in a school setting. If your friends are suggesting it for you they must see several qualities already. Like you are probably good with your hands, compassionate, caring & wanting to help others. I suggest you call your state & find out what the requirements are. Then find a local massage therapy school because I’m sure they’ll give you more information and try to get you to sign up. Do your research well & you will know what the answer is. ❤️🤗
I love the way you teach ♡♡ after 13 years I learn so much from you. And I love to hear you also feel that pain os not always better...I tell the same to my clients ♡ thanks for giving this excellent free classes...much apreciated 🙏
Ann Wijns thank you very much for the lovely comments! I think a good massage therapist never stops learning so we’re in it for life. I’m very happy this helped too. Please share and help spread the videos. Best of wishes for you 🙏🤗
This is wonderful. Unfortunately I get so many clients in the "no pain no gain" mindset, and no matter if I explain the benefits they feel they've been short-changed unless I go super deep and cause pain. It's frustrating since it takes a toll on me too.

From both prone and sidelying positions you give a detailed lecture on specific techniques to every single muscle of the back and also a lot attention to QL of hip hiker muslce, TRAPS of coat-hanger muscle, LATS of swimmer muscle. When it comes to trigger points, a massager shall never fail rohmboids, elavoter scapulae, teres minor, iliocostalis and serratus posterior etc. I especially like the finger circles/fingertips effleurage all way up to spinal process and longissimus. Dimple's Day 40 check in at the end of July

Billy Jordan Billy I’m sorry I missed your message 3 weeks ago! I don’t know what happened. I’m so happy to hear that you’re currently in massage school. Where are you at & how many hours is the program? Massage students are the reason I started this UA-cam channel so you guys are dear to my heart! I’m happy to help with what I can. Thanks for leaving a comment & again sorry for the delay.
Massage Therapeutics currently we are in AP. This coming week we are taking tests on the skeletal system and the muscular system. I’m nervous but with 20 years of healthcare experience I feel good about how I will do. My program is in Dallas Hands On Approach School of Massage. I’m taking the 570 hour program with 120 hours of clinical internship. They offer this option to reduce tuition cost. It’s a great school with a long history. The owner sits on all the boards of Texas. He is great.
Billy Jordan that’s similar to our curriculum. In Texas it’s a 500 hr program so it’s nice that they offer you more internship hrs in exchange for reduced tuition. That’s really clever! Sounds like a great program. With your training in the health field I’m sure you’ll do pretty good since you probably already know the medical terminology. I have a Quizlet account for students that I set up with reviews on most of the A&P chapters. We use the Salvo book so if it will help you I don’t mind you using it or anyone else you want to share it with. My students really like to use it because they have different ways to learn them. I like to play Quizlet live with the students & it helps prepare them for the test. You can go to marianellynatera & it’s a little black panther. If you’re interested that will help review the skeletal & muscular systems. Good luck
This seems like the most professional, informative channel on massages i have found on youtube so far. Very educational and the actual motoric skills that go into the techniques portraid in the videos come across as extremely well rounded and perfectioned. Thank you for the wonderful work!
Glad I came across your video- for 25 yrs I’ve been over working myself. Love the details and the colored anatomy map. The words were blocking some moments but I appreciate what I saw. Thank you
Congratulations on your 25 years!!!! That’s not an easy thing to say! I’m glad you liked the video. You can move the subtitles or the captions out of the way so you can see what I’m doing. You might need to ask someone how you move them. Depending on your computer. Or you can goggle it
Wow can i just say thank you so much for the extremely informative video. I am very appreciative of that fact that you dedicated your time to explaining and showing us everything. Might start considering becoming a therapist or just a regular masseuse
Wow wow wow your comment just made my day! So you’re not a massage therapist yet you are watching the videos? I have a follower from Austin that told me the same thing. He was inspired by one of the videos & he’s currently studying massage therapy in Austin. You know massage therapy involves a lot of A&P, kinesiology, technique, intuition and of course heart! You can be the smartest person in the class however if you lack people skills or compassion or patience those students struggle after graduation. Yet some of the average students with intuition & drive do really well. I guess what I’m saying is that massage therapy is a wholistic approach and you don’t have to excel at anything in particular just be well rounded. I love what I do & wouldn’t trade it for anything else! I do hope you consider it seriously since you’re already learning. Did you know that massage therapy was part of the nursing program until it was removed in the 1970’s. We became our own entity. Best of luck and keep me posted on your decision!!! Create a great day ❤️

This is good info, but no matter the massage, when i say ‘go deeper’ it really is necessary for me. I wont be able to tell you right away, but i will walk away with deeper muscles still untouched and tight. I will still be stressed, knots, and neverr fully relaxing.

Greg ory lol. It starts fading within a week. A lot depends on the skin tone of the model. It lasts longer on some so we’ve learned to try it out on each model because we’ve had a few flops lol. 😂
@@whsisgreat8622 we engage the nervous system from the onset of massage however we don’t want to stimulate the Sympathetic nervous system by going deep. You’re correct again about deep tissue massage thus the reason I don’t teach that. I teach around the Physiological laws such as Davis’s law, Arndt-Schulz law, Hilton’s law etc. these laws explain the relation of the body to the nervous system. Massage therapist want to engage the Parasympathetic system (rest & digest) instead. The Pacinian & Ruffini corpuscles are the ones that detect pressure in the skin so once again you are correct. As Massage therapist we also affect superficial fascia which peer reviewed articles substantiate that information. I have no doubt you were a good teacher. I’m glad you took up my suggestion of starting your own UA-cam channel. I have great respect for nurses & all they sacrifice to help & give to others.
I’m sharing it here

Great video. Thank you for drawing the muscles out. So helpful! I’ve tried to learn more about the back muscles so I can give a better massage to my wife.

This is wonderful. Unfortunately I get so many clients in the "no pain no gain" mindset, and no matter if I explain the benefits they feel they've been short-changed unless I go super deep and cause pain. It's frustrating since it takes a toll on me too.
I totally understand what you’re saying!!!! It’s very frustrating
I can relate as well!!
I tell my clients up front, " I'm a therapeutic massage therapist "
I refuse to hurt myself, for your pleasure
This is the discouraging part of being a massage therapist for me. Clients who want you to hurt them. If it's painful it's wrong

When it comes to trigger points, a massager shall never fail rohmboids, elavoter scapulae, teres minor, iliocostalis and serratus posterior etc. I especially like the finger circles/fingertips effleurage all way up to spinal process and longissimus.
Good luck
@@MassageTherapeutics915 How to get through this Quizlet account?

I love that she says lotions and potions - reminds me of MadTV and I giggle everytime
crazy4beatles 😂😂😂. Now I want to see MadTV haha. I’m glad it makes you smile. To tell you the truth I don’t know where I got the saying from yet I’ve been saying it for years.
I would love if you could teach me, i want to learn i really appreciate you keep up the good work blessings to you always and for sharing with us. Thanks alot.
Claudine Crawford it is my pleasure to share with you guys! Thank you for the compliment! ❤️🤗
This is good info, but no matter the massage, when i say ‘go deeper’ it really is necessary for me. I wont be able to tell you right away, but i will walk away with deeper muscles still untouched and tight. I will still be stressed, knots, and neverr fully relaxing.
I'm with you on this one. I finally found a very strong remedial massage therapist abd she's remarkable. The others were pleasant but not effective.
I agree with you.
I suggest you try different types of massage (Thai, miofascial, etc.) and different masseurs.
And don't be afraid to ask to go deeper.
P.s. sorry for my bad english, i am from Italy.
@@flaviobaruffi1876 Your English is good. Only problem I see is your not supposed to start a sentence with and
The whole time I was in school I tried to explain that I needed a similar diagram for leaning purposes. this is awesome and wish I started with this experience. ❤
You must be a visual learner. I do my best to teach to visual, audio & kinesthetic learners. I suggest you buy washable markers & find a body you can draw the muscles on. It would really help you.
Why would anyone dislike this lovely vidéo? Thank you Maria. Kisses from Paris
Stefania Dragu thank you Stefania! You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite commentators 🤗🤗❤️
How long did the demo patient have the drawing on their back? Lol. That looks like it’s on there good
Greg ory lol. It starts fading within a week. A lot depends on the skin tone of the model. It lasts longer on some so we’ve learned to try it out on each model because we’ve had a few flops lol. 😂
The moment she said "i don't like to use the word deep tissue" i know this lady is a pro at what she's doing
Wow that is so true. You must be a very good therapist yourself if you picked up on that! Thank you 🙏😊
@@whsisgreat8622 we engage the nervous system from the onset of massage however we don’t want to stimulate the Sympathetic nervous system by going deep. With everything going on in the medical field I wonder how you find the time to leave such lengthy informative comments. I can’t keep up with with all that I have going and I only have a Bachelors degree. I’m pretty sure your education is more extensive than mine. I sincerely wish you the best and send you a hug. We actually need 4 hugs a day for survival & 8 hugs for maintenance. I think we all need a hug!
I get a weird ticklish feeling in that same spot when I get a massage!
Peggy T it’s not weird
