Quick tip. Heat up the end up your rib with a lighter then stretch out a tiny bit of it to tie in with. Makes a much smaller, more efficient tie in point. I've been tying a similar pattern for years, and its one of the more productive patterns in my box. Difference is I tie a buggy dubbed body with a wire rib. I always looked at it as a mini-bugger pattern.
Wait until they start spinning dear hair and using EP fiber, that’s when the fun begins and they learn how to use the vacuum cleaner at the same time . Thanks for sharing
I tied the worm with exact materials shown on your video and it looks the same. However, when I put a coating on, it turns dark and I can't see olive color. The whole body looks deep dark red. I've tried Loon UV clear fly finish thin and Sally Hansen's hard as nails and I get the same result. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Michael, Try using “thick” UV glue. I find the color shows through better with the thick than the thin. The thin seems to soak in the material more and darken it. Also, I’m using the river runs brand UV glue now and it works a lot better.
thanks for showing this, a really nice looking fly......
Thank you!

Nice bug. I'll definitely try this one out. Thanks and tight lines from the CA Sierra Nevada's
Thanks Brett! It definitely catches fish 👍🏻
Thank you! You’ll like fishing it as well 😊
kids getting into the fly tying stuff is enough to drive a man absolutely mad!
😂 Yes it is! I’m going to do a before and after video of my six year old tying flies. It’s hilarious!

@@mikekuczynski1552super glue and deer hair… they’ll have beards or fuzzy fingers before they’re done!
Whoa Thank you
Thanks for watching John
How do you fish this fly, looks great!
Hey Blake. Thank you! I typically use it on tailwaters dead drifted under a strike indicator.
@@anglermade have you tried it on still waters? Trout rivers are about a 90 minute drive for me and your not allowed a fly such as this anyway!
I like this worm
Thanks Sally
Nice!
Thanks Joe
Have you tried other colors of chenille for the tail? Would pink work or have you found that tan is best?
Yes I have. I've had the best luck with tan, but I've used medium brown, orang and pink.

Nice fly, I'll give it a try. Your camera work could use some improvement however.
Thank you Thomas I appreciate the feedback. Yes I have a long way to go as far as my camera work is concerned. 😂
