JP thank you so much! You are a monster talent and 100% right about Boucher guitars. In fact you deserve part of the credit for me choosing to purchase a twin sister to 'Yogi.' You see, I heard you play a store owned 12 fret triple 000 Boucher at a live store promotion. I was blown away by your playing and the guitar. In a similar fashion to the way you describe being smitten with 'Yogi' I was instantly head over heels with the feel and sound of this Boucher guitar. This triple '000' felt and sounded better to me than any guitar in the store. Some costing thousands more. I know because I checked. I have never heard such a great sounding guitar. I called the store before opening the very next day. Albeit, I wasn't the only customer to recognize the qualities of this Boucher because it had already been sold. Keeping on the sunny side I was able to order another triple '000' build. Now waiting for the build is like waiting for the birth of a child.. Great things are expected Thanks again JP.
JP! I was at your show in NJ last week, it was a pleasure to listen to your talent and entertaining stories, great stuff man. Appreciate all that you do!
Such a beautiful sounding guitar and very pretty to look at as well. I started watching these videos on the Boucher guitars you own yesterday and had to go out and find one to play today. I visited Brickhouse Guitars in Kitchener Ontario this afternoon and played three models and I was very impressed ... you were right on the money JP, these guitars are amazing ... thanks for the heads up.
Awesome guitar and player! I liked the guitar so much I bought Yogi’s twin brother. Every word you spoke about this guitar is true. I’ve never played better.
I've been saving to get a Boucher for a few months now. Not sure what I'm going to get, but I'm leaning towards a Heritage Goose with mahagony backs and side and a Master Pack. And I hope that won't be my last Boucher.
Tarzan...I seem to remember..Coming up..............You are right....not fair, not fair you have all them guitars but not fair you play that good either.....Lol...I'm glad somebody can play that good...Give us a close up of that watch/watch band....I'm sure there is a story there too!
Brilliant playing. Is "OOO" the same as "Parlour size"? the one you are playing looks bigger, more like an OM model, but I cannot see it on the Boucher website...
Hi JP. I mainly sing and play rhythm guitar for contemporary Christian music. Would hg56 (yogi) of the BG52 be better for me? I have a RD328 but the guitar never really sang to me. Recently played a Gibson J45 1942B at guitar center. They go for about $5000 there and it sound was so resonant and the action and neck was so easy to play. But thinking about guitars that are $5000 make me intimidated coming from a under $1000 recording king. I really want a open sounding guitar that doesn’t have much restrain but doesn’t sound muddy. My experience is that the harder you play some guitars (strum) it sounds like the guitar chokes the sound (past it has been solid mahogany back side guitars). The RD 328 is loud but not exactly the open sound I’m looking for. My friend had a old Tacoma dm9 and that thing vibrated so much when I strummed it and sounded so open
JP can you help me get good deal on used HG 56 or your signature model . Can't find used boucher guitar in USA and don't want to pay premium for the new one
Sure!! Although you’d probably be disappointed with its simplicity. I basically play 20-24 inches away from a ribbon mic aimed at the middle of the top of the guitar. That’s it.
Yes, but a beautiful guitar inspires one to play more. I own the SG OM Rosewood V and I sound so good on it, I can’t believe it’s me This model J.P. is playing is a stunner, all the Bouchers are sublime I want more
Larry Rhindress ummmm. I’m not a shill. I am 46 year veteran of playing and guitars in general. I’m not paid by Boucher, Eastman, Yamaha, Alvarez, or any other company I send people to. I believe that people who love the guitar should be given the option to have the best instrument possible according to finances. When I say Boucher is the best sounding instrument I’ve used in my life that is the truth. Period. My entire career is dependant and based my honour, honesty and integrity as an artist and a composer. I would not compromise that to be a paid endorser for anyone. What I say is exactly what I mean, with consideration for nothing except the facts as I see them. Guitars are subjective, so most of it is up to the end user. I just try to lay out the groundwork for those who want to enjoy their time playing guitar. It’s an instrument that means everything to me. I want others to love it as much as I do!
Sorry J.P., you are an idol to so many of us, not just for your musical talents but also for your honesty. I was so poorly trying to say," Is there always going to be a better guitar"? My sincere apology!
Don’t think J.P would endorse them if they weren’t worthy As he is a supremely talented musician I believe his word is respected My two cents Martin, Taylor and Gibson are mainly production guitars, they mass produce and you so desire a custom guitar by the big three it will run you several dollars, much more expensive than a top tier Boucher guitar. Boucher handcrafts 300 guitars a year. So you decide which you would like to spend hard earned dollars on. If you like name brands go with the big three, if you want quality Boucher is the way to go. No big ad campaigns, no promo pitches. They are just beautiful musical works of art. I own Martin and Taylor and they are fine, but Boucher just blows them out of the water. True consistent works of art, whereby the big three you might get lucky and find a nice one. Boucher never misses. My humble opinion.
@@ralex3697 I absolutely agree. My comment was poorly written and didn't say what I wanted to say. J.P. is an idol of mine, and I listen to all that he has to say concerning music. I will be buying a Boucher!! Great reply Robin, thank you!

I miss the days when we could just get in the car and drive up to Canada if we wanted to. I really want to come up and try out some of these guitars!

Awesome guitar and player! I liked the guitar so much I bought Yogi’s twin brother. Every word you spoke about this guitar is true. I’ve never played better.
I discovered small body 12 fret guitars many years ago and haven't looked back. Love them. This Boucher sounds fantastic. Thanks for posting.
My pleasure!
Yes I love these small body guitars too
I've been saving to get a Boucher for a few months now. Not sure what I'm going to get, but I'm leaning towards a Heritage Goose with mahagony backs and side and a Master Pack. And I hope that won't be my last Boucher.
Great guitar picker like104

I recently purchased an HG56 and, too, am blown away by its tone and volume. Fantastic guitar!
I bought the SG OM Rosewood V
The best guitar I’ve ever owned
Taylor and Martin can’t compare
Boucher doesn't list a 12 fret Studio Goose on their website. Is this still available?

Question: would you ever consider sharing your process for recording acoustic guitar in your studio?
Sure!! Although you’d probably be disappointed with its simplicity. I basically play 20-24 inches away from a ribbon mic aimed at the middle of the top of the guitar. That’s it.
The guitar sound great, but it's really the great playing that makes her sound like it does.
Yes, but a beautiful guitar inspires one to play more.

Why don’t they do a cutaway? They would listen to you JP. Volume is really important to me too, so I know there’s a bit of a trade off.
What model is that?
How much does it cost American
Would you say the same about Martin, Gibson, Taylor, if you were promoting them?

My two cents

Is the Boucher the best sounding guitar that you've ever played?? Better than: Martin, Gibson, Taylor?????
Larry Rhindress yes
Yes
Played a ton of different guitars today, Boucher HG56 won over all other models.
I love you JP but you have got to go on a diet.
