Thanks for taking us along on this fun journey Stan! Looking very good, love that Grampa's Jeep, very heartfelt congratulations on nearing completion. Glad the body fit the new frame!!
@@Grampas-jeep Don't give up please!! You can complete!! You and Jeff with Bam Bam have brought the flat fender Jeep world to us in a unique and inspiring way here on UA-cam.......(you are both extraordinary and talented drivers showing us what those Jeeps are capable of etc.).....we are all looking forward to further adventures going wonderful places.........thanks and good luck Stan!
Super impressive how fast you are rolling along..... pretty soon you are going to be back on the trails and making more great memories !! Thanks for the update.
I'm currently working on an M38 frame myself, the M stamp was put on M38 specific parts that were welded onto the frame to designate military parts, like the front frame horn box sections, the voltage regulator bracket, and the radiator brackets like you've shown, the M38 had the fold down grille, and the radiator was mounted similar to a cj-2a.
Looking good! I have a cj3b that the body is about as rough as grampa jeep . It to needs a frame swap. The round cross member under the radiator has broken loose from the frame so the bell crank is moving a lot when you steer it . Good luck with your project and thanks for sharing.
Looking good. The reds probably going to mellow out when it ages. Most of my MD is red oxide but there's different hues depending on how much sun, dirt and oil it got. I wish this heatwave would go away so I can work on mine more.
It's certainly hot in my garage. If I get out and get the dark doors open early before they start to suck in the heat, It's faily tolerable. Thanks for checking in.
As for the paint, just get it close. Spray it, and let it age just like the rest of the jeep did. Skip the fauxtina. It earned the new patches, it earns new paint.
I don't know enough about the M38 to know exactly how they were mounted. CJ2As have a rubber pad under the radiator setting on the tab. Thanks for checking in.
@@Grampas-jeep your videos are very interesting to me,I just wish we had places to wheel our Willys here in Ohio like you’ll have out there, you’ll are very fortunate

Thanks 👍 so close now, I can taste it, or maybe that's the rattle can paint I can taste. 😋

Thanks for documenting your work on grampas Jeep it’s nice to see it will live on for many more years
It is the definition of patina.
🇨🇦👨🏻🏭🍻
Good work! It will be fun to see some photos before and after and see just how much it is the same/different than it was.
Great progress! It will soon be a whole Jeep again!
Great job and I am glad you decided to film this process!
Thank you!
Loving the Jeep update! I can’t wait to see it back together and back on the trails!!
Thanks.
Great to see it all coming back together!

Thanks Don.
Glad you’ve been documenting this Stan, fun to watch!
Thanks
I have a '64 3B I am restoring for off-road use. I will have it in Moab in 2025. Maybe I will see Grandpas Jeep then. Keep up the fun adventures!
Good luck with your project. Moab is great! Thanks for checking in.
Va a quedar fino. Se merece un cariñito. Good day
looking good Stan always a nice touch to have the underneath pristine but keeping the body's patina
Thanks.
Always Great content Stan!!!!

I agree
1:38 Maybe there was a grommet to isolate the radiator bolt from the body and give it some flex.

It looks like it sits a little taller or more space in between the rear tires and the body.
Maybe.
Stan, I have a M38, and was told the M stamp was applied to M38 specific frame parts to differentiate them from 3A frames.
I think I might know your welder
Hah
Did you use some rubber pads between the body and the frame? Looks great 👍
@@scubasteve7946 yes, new rubber pads on all the mounts.
Looks good, get it back running you won’t know how to act,be like driving an totally different Jeep
I hope It's not too different. Thanks for watching.
