- When guitar legend Lee Ritenour came into the KNKX/Jazz24 studios on an unseasonably cool August afternoon, he arrived with a rhythm section hot enough to raise Seattle's temperature a few degrees: drummer, Will Kennedy, and bassist, Melvin Davis. Together, they laid down three delightful tracks; Water's Edge, L.P.-For Les Paul, and Freddie Hubbard's composition, Povo.
The smoothest guitar player you will ever hear!
Three professional musicians HAVING a BLAST !! I love it.
Lee is certainly a legend and one of my favorites. I must also say that Melvin Davis is one bad dude on bass. I really like Lee and Melvin together.
Great performance! That was a boss tune written by Freddie!
God bless him for making it through it all! He's definitely paid some dues!
The groove of this is fantastic. Talk about being “in the pocket”.
I keep coming back to this. Such a cool performance.
Rit, you so fonky! Your playing could make the old women get up and dance at the old cafe back in Clarksdale, Mississippi!!!!
Some Friday morning inspiration. Really nice!!

Looove that kind of anectdotes!!!!! My thumbs up for the comment.
