Thanks to everyone for letting me know that I mispronounced Gran Prix (Now I feel really stupid...) It's just a bad habit I have with that word for some reason so, sorry for the slip-up😅
Hope the rest of the review was enjoyable non the less! ^o^
People has also been saying that I should get a Pop filter, but the thing is I already have one. I figured out the problem though (after recording this video). I had placed the pop filter too close to the mic, thus not removing all the pops properly.
I've now moved it a bit back, so it should sound significantly better in future videos!
Sorry for the inconveniences and thanks for letting me know.☺
You did great bud. No sweat.
Don't feel bad! It's funny your name ends with ix too. If it was pronounced the same way, you'd be called Felee or something instead of fee-lex 😅
It sounds nice, ignore them mñeh
I just assumed you were insulting a bunch of your competitors online... you know... by calling them.... well you know
I hope everyone that pointed it out did so NICELY, we literally all mispronounce words and anyone that thinks they don't just hasn't been called out on whatever one they're saying wrong yet.
The fact that this game is 15 dollars is incredible. Mario Strikers should have been at this price point lol.
Ehh. I think mario strikers should have been less then that. Its not getting updated or anything. After a few hours there's litterly nothing to do :/. I would say its worth like 10$ lol
As someone who has desperately been wanting HAL to port over GCN's Kirby Air Ride, or revive it with a new sequel, this game brings me hope because while it's not at all what I want it feels like a step in the right direction
Absolutely, it's the same reason I use the dragoon cookie as a starting plate!
@@jonnyboy8760 haha me too!! Right at the top of my cake
What has this to do with.....you know what i give up. Praise them for all i care.
@@HandheldGamer1991 you ok?
@@HandheldGamer1991 Actually, it's not as unrelated as you might think - You can liken the general goal of obtaining more strawberries and growing larger than the other players to Air Ride's City Trial mode, where you would try to collect the most power-up patches to make your machine perform the best in the closing Stadium match (which were often a race to the finish or battle amongst players, again comparable to the minigames in Dream Buffet). Dream Buffet being a 4-player Kirby party game in a 3D space also helps a lot in the reminiscing lol
For the price I would say yes because it’s just a game I can turn on and actually relax and de stress with adorable kirby goodness and some very appeasing scenery.
Yo I see you in grandes stream a lot imo Kirby’s dream buffet is one of those games that I’ll play for a few days put it down for a few weeks then play it again and say “I forgot how much fun this was”
Unlike some other people I'm so glad this isn't free to play actually. Because free to play usually means a bunch of microtransactions, and you know how that played out with Kirby in the past... Not that great
I'd pay for a full game rather than play a half-baked pay to win "free to play" game any day. And you get a lot for 15 bucks here imo. This game is pretty dang full of fun little content for a 15 dollar game.
Microtransactions were good in previous Kirby games. You didn't need to pay and it capped at 30 dollars
@@AsecasJavi $40 or $50 actually, which is alot more then this game.
@@beauwalker9820 the game also offers much more
Beau Walker
*than
Idiot
@@AsecasJavi debatable, those were basically boss rush games, and didn't have alot of gameplay, and just tedious leveling-up fests.
Kirby is _always_ worth it.
Imagine being to addicted to kirby 😂
@@pandabloxplays2577 kirby is *ALWAYS* worth it
This game is so good! Feels like a proper celebration for the anniversary
Is it tho
no its not and no its not meant to be. a proper celebration for the anniversary would be like Dream Collection. This is nothing like Dream Collection
As much as i love kirby that a bunch off bull mister :)
Definitely, and it doesn’t feel like something that will be dated next year.
The lack of four player split-screen kills this one for me unfortunately
Nintendo updates games alot, So you never know.
@@qwertsy1151 I'd hope so, seen alot of people sad over the lack of 4 player split screen which is quite unfortunate and a pretty understandable reason not to want the game. Besides that, I've been having a blast with it. Really do hope they patch it in so more people can enjoy!
I believe they didnt do 4 player split screen as it would affect performance and drop frames
Yeah... I was so looking forward to this, but without 4 player multiplayer, it's not the game I was looking for. Such a shame...
Do you not have internet in 2022? Sad
I just bought this to play with my nieces (3 and 7) and honestly this was totally worth it. I have no complaints other than no 4 local multiplayer and the fact this isn’t its own bigger thing yet
This game is so much fun. It has so much charm and I don't know why but I just keep wanting one more round. There is a lot of repetitive gameplay, but it is so satisfying and fun and just a good game to just chill with. I don't feel super tense when playing, just relaxed. :-)
Frame rate stutters are too common. I do like how quick it is to not just get into a game but for the games to start.
Real good with being a pick up and play.
Really wanted to get this to play with friends but the split screen being limited to just 2 players made me reconsider
Just got the game a few hours ago and I like it a lot. The customization is neat, and you can unlock more music for the game modes. Leveling nag seems to be a good pace and you still gain experience even if you are in last place, so you never have feel like you aren’t going anywhere in leveling up. There seems to be a lot to unlock and keep you busy for a while as well, so that’s also a plus. Now we will have to see if they do frequent updates for more customization, modes, or even just new courses. The game has some really good potential.
After a year of gaming, how is the content?
I've never heard anyone pronounce the x in grand prix
He gave it an "ate" out of 10, lol!
Honestly it’s baffling this game doesn’t run at 60fps. It’s absurd that the only Switch 60fps Kirby game is Fighters 2
It's nice to see the devs have finally made a game that's an accurate representation of me during COVID
It's definitely fun and cheap so I'm pretty pumped for it! Bit of slowdown online I'm noticing but digging it!
boss fights would add to the challenge.
actual boss fights
or running from a boss (2d bowser style)
or a moving boss you fight while he runs (making it an obstacle)
The fact that I can play Kirby air ride with 4 players on my gamecube, but not this makes me sad. 😔
I honestly want to get this, I love Kirby and it looks so cute and charming....but not being able to play with my sister, while going online with friends is a big deal-breaker. Sad cause they did the same thing with Ultimate, even though Smash 4 had that feature and some other games on the Switch allow it as well.
Maybe a pipedream, but I guess updates could always add that...!
This feels like a proper Kirby spin off!!!
THIS reminds me of Kirby Air Ride.
A new way to move kirby around- and adding his abilities and fun little games and obsticles ams modes to play with his new quirk.
This was so much more fun than I was expecting. Worth the $15. 💞
I squeed out loud about 100 times in an hour. It's such a cute game!
Picking this up. Thanks for the review.
Just one small correction if I may: the X is PRIX is silent. Thanks for the video.
Yup or else it sounds like Grand Pricks
Games great honestly
I do kinda wish their was some other competitive mode since aside from free rolling it's just the main mode
Also a bit sad Epic Yarn didn't get a song/remix here as far as I can tell
It’s only 15 so I’d expect only a few amenities
My friend says it has the song Flower Fields from Epic Yarn, but it's just the original track, not a remix.
This might be the best kirby spin off all time and I don't have access for go 4 player offline so I can manage this no problem but that me
Is prix pronounced differently in each region?
Same here Felix, wanted 4 player splitscreen :(
Is reviewer looking forward to Christmas, bless him
just a heads up to the voice over, the prix in grand prix is pronounced grand prii like wii
sorry to comment on this video: does anyone know how to fix an issue where your system randomly stops tracking/logging played hours for a game? have put in over 40 hours on pkmn shield in the past two weeks and it hasn’t updated at all… it is just stuck at 255 hours
This should of just been a minigame mode in that new kirby game
This game should came free with Nintendo deluxe online subscription to boost its active players
How can player two change their kirby color?
When I played, the guest player was able to change from yellow to pink kirby and we have no idea how they selected the other color
A workaround is just continue switching between single and 2 player and you can see the “preview” on the right change with random costumes you’ve unlocked. Just keep hovering until your guest gets a random selection that they like.
8/10? Jeez, that’s far too generous. The game is adorable and can be fun but overall the experience is very shallow and repetitive. Add the lack of 4 player split screen and it becomes quite a frustrating little package. I hate to say it, because I hate this model, but KDB should’ve been free-to-play.
Me, here at my house, give KDB a 6/10.
I like it it’s kinda like the gameboy kirby spinoffs
this guy has a very lovable, approachable feel
Just bought this game for my OLED. The colors are beautiful. My boyfriend and I enjoy playing on the local play. I was beating him fair and square for a while then he started kicking my butt which made me sad. After that he felt bad and let me win LOL. I'm on the fence with getting kirby and the forgotten land. I'll have to talk to someone who has played it to see if it's worth the $60
Have someone tried 4 players combining primary switch [account that didn't buy the game] & secondary switch [account that bought the game] using a single bought game.
So download play?
@@Stratilex A single digital download can be played on both a primary & a secondary switch at the same time: if the secondary switch use the account that bought the game & the primary switch use any other account. But I don't know if local mode (which is different from online mode - need paid service) will work with 2x2 player on two local Switch.
They need to fix the online play. People who get mad and leave should be banned. And the connection issues are out of this world for it to be the year 2022
1:49 “Gourmet Grand Pricks“ lmao
The frame rate issues are way too eveident. I’ve been playing in Local Co-Op and I have great Wi-Fi, yet it stutters like crazy and trying to use abilities is frustrating as they get used seconds after you hit the button.
I was looking for a comment like this
So much Kirby air ride DNA in this, love it!😍😍
The lack of 4 player split screen isn’t that big of a dealbreaker for me, because I’m too nervous too invite my college friends over to my house. Sad puyo. 😔
I love Nintendo Life reviews! This game is a real treat!
I was really hoping this would be a spiritual successor to "Kirby's Tilt and Tumble"
Boo I was really hoping 4 player couch co-op because it reminds me of Fall Guys and Cake Bash mixed together
It is. When i see that giant strawberry cake, it makes me hungry.
I want to get this game so badly! But the wii u/3ds eshop is closing soon...so I haven't been able to buy any new games so far...
???????????
Now that's what I call Felix.
This game looks reminiscent of Kirby Tilt and Tumble for GBC
Like monkey ball? - yes, like kirby I had to also pay for monkey ball, but monkey ball was a four player couch co-op; like fall guys? - yes, but fall guys is free and has vastly more maps. We had brought this game for friends to join in and play as we clearly didn't watch the advert to the end. Luckily they also enjoyed boomerang fu as a second option when this game let up down.
Unfortunately immediately a pass when I heard it’s not 4 player split screen
I swear if a future episode doesn't add "gourmet race" I'm going to riot
Popfilter please
Thanks for reviewing this, I'm really looking forward to another Kirby game :D
Nice review, but for future reference the X in Prix is silent. It’s pronounced “Pree” not “Pricks”… which is a very different thing nowadays. 😂
Realistically, probably not, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun with friends
Can you have 4 players with two Switches in local mode?
Probably
Yes you can
@@rodrigogrover3322 yay. Thank you
Man, I've actually experienced a lot of lag during the races
If you’ve ever played fun run racing on mobile then this is what it feels like
I have had a lot of performance issues in 2 player so I'm assuming the game will need a bit of work before 4 players locally could be added.
This games adorable,got it today
why make it impossible to play handheld though?!
Been enjoying Felix a lot, he’s really integrated into the main NL UA-cam group well :)
Am I the only person that likes that there is no split screen? I played two player and split screen felt weird
No split screen worked fine for Super Mario 3D World frankly. I can live without it.
What does anyone think the chances of a physical copy are? I’m not holding my breath, but I’d buy a copy day 1.
Problem is, a physical copy would be more then $15.
I don't have any friends to play with, what's stopping me from getting this is that it's digital only.
Bro it's $15 and a Kirby game, I think it's worth it
I honestly don't see online being too lively for this. Hopefully it is for those who buy it
Might have to get it early then. I hardly find anyone in the Kirby Fighters 2 online lobbies, because I got it recently.
is it just me who noticed he actually said grand prix with the x
The game looks interesting!
What I don't like from the game, is the fact that you get TOO MANY strawberries in the last event. That makes de first 3 events almost useless. The advantage that you get at the first three matches is too small at the end.
I sort of agree on the minigame but the races give you a big advantage with the 50 cake.
especially those stupid tea cups
the 'x' and Grand Prix is silent. It's pronounced Pree.
You also need to invest in a better pop filter.
Who else pronounces grand prix as grand pricks? I used to as a kid but was told it was wrong but now I'm wondering if it was actually right
Nintendo creative is fantastic here
HAL, because Hal is just like that.
😄 I'm Truhe and you captured me in this video with what was maybe my first run in this game. I did absolutely not know what to do and stayed a very tiny pink ball. That said, this game runs in 28-30fps, it seems to stutter when collecting items and I still wasn't able to play a single online game without severe lags, which even rendered the session unplayable. I hoped for a cute Fall Guys alternative, but Fall Guys runs absolutely smooth in 4K60 with 60 players, where Kirby has severe problems with only four players. I hope this will change with upcoming updates.
I now had one session without lags and then this game is really is fun 🙂.
Did anyone else have trouble not being able to play in handheld mode? It forced me to detach joycons.
Ugh, please don't tell me that's the only way to play D: I absolutely hate detached 😭
you can play it in both ways, either handheld or joycons. you probably didn’t set up your control mode right
@@sillygymbro200 That's a relief, thank you :)
I’m honestly glad I didn’t get it knew this game would die in around a week
sorry to hear! it just got on sale by Nintendo lately, despite the initial positive reviews and drop in activity as of late :(
I won’t be getting this since no local multiplayer 😢 it looks so cute and fun to play with friends tho!
yes there is
I love this game
I can't see the online scene lasting too long, but I can definitely see me and my cousin playing this a bunch
This game is very fun and worth the money! Lots of content and the races always feel different due to different abilities, your size and shortcuts
And add to cart
Kirby Air Ride City mode needs a full-fledged remake with several large maps and online multiplayer. Could be such an awesome game. But they keep focusing on smaller simple games that aren't open-ended. Oh well
Nintendo is still behind when it comes to online multi-player, simply inviting a friend and getting on chat is incredibly easy on ps and Xbox yet nintendo is still using... passwords?
Do you think I'm making a good move by waiting for the Switch 2 (with backwards compatibility hopefully)?
dOnT yOu meAn tHe sWitCh pR0?
Are you willing to wait for possibly another 2-4 years? If so, go for it. Not sure if there will be backwards compatibility though, but it would be weird not to have it. Who knows.
No. I think there's still some years left until the Switch runs out of gas, at least two or three. And you can't be sure that its succesor will be backwards compatible until there's official confirmation or some reputable leak.
I don't think so, I mean there are so many games to play on the switch right now, you should consider the time it's going to take to play all the games you want, plus the ones that will come out until then. And you can always sell your current video-game to buy the newest one.
A Switch 2 probably won’t be released until at least 2024. Waiting is only a good move if you don’t actually want a Switch that much.
looking at this game makes me hungry
This game will be nice for 4 player split screen my friends would love it
Isn't there
@@maxrn3923 it’s probably why he wrote the comment in the first place
1:49 Grand Pricks? Sure
I see HAL is sticking with 30fps for kirby games now for no reason
Super cute!
Might want to check the pronunciation of grand prix. What you're saying doesn't quite fit the family friendly nature of Nintendo Life all that well...
Other than that, great review! I'm hoping that they add four player multiplayer in the future as I'll probably pick the game up if that ever happens.
Great review. Felix, please get a pop filter.
This should be free for NSO with expansion pack
Gooey is in the game. 10/10.
Gooey is great.
If they fix the online it would be a 9
Uh oh...! lol! 1:48
I like the way this reviewer says "Strawberries".
“ Gourmet Grand Pri’X’ “…
LOL, I love ya Felix but the ‘X’ in Grand Prix is silent, it’s pronounced jus “Grand Pre” ;) bless…lol
