My custom tune allowed for NLS and I would hold a decent amount of boost between shifts. Raced my buddy in a DSG stage 2 MK6 and he would not gain any ground between shifts. Race was fairly even, despite the fact that the MK6 was lighter and DSG. I went DSG this time around because I was thinking the same thing it shifts faster and holds boost but had I known that 5th and 6th gear on DSG was that long I might not have gone the DSG route. Not saying I regret it but I would’ve liked to at least test drive a 6-Speed MK7 and compare both the cars on same tune except with driver mod because I know for a fact that NLS and my speed makes a difference when compared with other 6 speed manual drivers 🤷♂️

Bad Hombre well max weight for a gti says 3075 while the lighter one is 2978 and the weight difference for my understanding was because of the transmission. When I race in this video I have no spare in the back and no muffler and resonator so that takes off weight.
Damn wish both cars had either DSG or manual. On a roll 3 gear seems to pull harder on manual GTI either way. Good runs. Do re run when the other car goes stage 2
Too many differences but I think that APR has more aggressive boost and fuel per stage... which sometimes the engines can't handle. I played on the safe side and went Unitronic. It's very quick for all practical purposes, I mean it's enough to get into plenty of trouble.
Agreed. I run unitronic stg1 (ecu & tcu) with muffler delete, both res delete and the second cat delete (post o2 sensor) on my mk3 tt and it’s more than enough with reliability. And it pops and gargles so loud.
TN Vocals not accurate at all! Unitronic is power through the powerband homie. APR is a quick nut of speed. The top end is not worth all that money. Unitronic is the way to go!

the passenger filming makes a big difference. My stg 2 GTI feels much different with and without a passenger.
Dsg makes a huge difference
Needs extreme driver mod. You lose like a car length every time you shift
Also drivers position behind the steering wheel explains why that stage 2 manual are loosing from DSG stage 1.... LOL!

Bad Hombre 2 door is usually lighter but the dsg makes it heavier so it offsets it

They both looked pretty even. Put the down pipe in the apr stage 1 and its game over for the unitronic stage 2.
