7:37 -> When the driver can see the rear end of the front car through the small triangle window at the passenger rear window, it can be said approximately the rear bumpers are aligned.
7:52 -> When the center pillar (the pillar that separates the front door and the rear door) is aligned with the bumper of the front car, it's time to straighten the steer.
This is the way my instructor taught me. I've seen many videos and none were as helpful as this one!!! I would recommend this excellent video to those who may need help .

It's important to listen from the start. Although the video is long you get a lot from it in its entirety.
Dont match bumpers match side mirrors this is what I've been taught and it works just fine.

you should do a bay parking tutorial, even though its been long, because i understood your instructions very clearly.
Unless you are doing this every day, it will be hard! This a very good explanation!
You can actually do it without straightening the wheels. As you turn right and back up and it helps to picture in your head witch way the wheels are pointing so you don’t mix up the steering wheel on witch way to turn it. Just remember steering forwards the same as reverse. Start backing up left hand on top of the steering wheel right hand behind the passenger seat look out the back window with occasional glances at your left and right mirrors. Just as you see your back right tire close to the curb and you should be able to see it in your right mirror. Crank the wheel the other way so to the left the trick here is to make sure your back right tire is as close as you can get it to the curb so when you bring your front end in your not far away from the curb. Trick is to get as close as you can to the curb. So as your turning left and backing in it will bring your front end in. Make sure once your in to pull up a bit but not too far if you park to close behind someone and someone else park close behind you well you will have a hard time getting out. But it can be done like an S you don’t have to straighten the wheels out why’ll doing it.

Thanks for this video. I am going to try this method as a new driver. I have a Chevy SUV. I was doing the 3ft, mirror to mirror, lock it to the right, check the mirrors for oncoming cars, reverse until I see the break light & license plate in the passenger mirror, then I lock it all the way to the left but my rear tire was touching the sidewalk or I am too far away. One thing that I heard you say is that if I am not 3ft away from the other car, then I will be far off from the sidewalk. I am going to try your method and see how it works out. Thanks

i don't like this way of parking...although you are correct, i was taught a different method, which works equally as well. Turn the wheel once to the right, back up slowly and when you see the license plate of the car in front in the middle of your mirror, turn all the way to the left, clearing the back of the car in front and then re-position going forward. turning on the hazards would suggest following car that you aint gonna move and it may try to pass you which may result in a crash. better keep ur indicators on instead of hazards.
Muhammad Azeem hes actually teaching an instructor how to teach a student. the reason for the hazard is because if they were in a lesson, it gives the instructor time to explain without other cars being confused on why they’re in the middle of the road. he was subtle, but he said something similar to “*turns on hazards* this gives us time to explain”. haha not mocking u or anything, but clarification for students who watch this so they don’t think they’re supposed to do it
Muhammad Azeem edit: the reason i know this is because he mentions how parents will “come up to you and say...etc” meaning he’s talking to instructors who will have to deal with it lol

Nice tutorial...but i think the instruction is mostly applicable to left hand cars or countries using left hand cars.I live in Australia for anyone to use this it will be in opposite direction that is 1. All the way to the left 2.straight your wheel 3.All the way to the right 4. Straight your wheel. In all this tutorial is great and quite explicit.
