Thank you for your video. The wind was strong the other day and snapped it in half so the mother plant is dying. I hope this propagation will save my rubber plant with new growth.
Plus tip, please pin my comment : put your rubber cutting in a poly house /greenhouse . TAKE YOUR CUTTING and from it's bottom, like we do in air layering, remove its bark with help of knife round of it, and surround that cut with MOSS(wet it with water and press it to remove extra , then use it) . Put this cutting in a pot with cocopeat only or can add sand.DONT ADD ANY SOIL. You are the first one I have seen that states a leaf alone will not produce a new plant - (yes it will produce roots but a new stem will not grow from it) Thank you for this informative video
I wish id seen this a few hours ago. Ive got a stem and some leaves, but most of the videos dont suggest leaving a node on. At least the stem should grow! Thanks for a great bit if advice ❤
This was so helpful! There’s a beautiful gigantic rubber leaf plant that grows wild in my neighborhood and I’ve been tempted to take a few snippings home 😆

I have a rubber plant that has grown too tall. I want to cut it back very short. The problem is there are no leaves for around one meter from the ground. If I cut from the base without leaving any leaves, will it not die, and will the shoots come up?

What are the signs of rooting?? Based on my observation white like moss is starting to show but the leaf and stem is till alive while submerged in water
One thing I must share the presentation is really brilliant 👏 and have a request Ma'am can you share soil mixing ingredients in details that will be very helpful
That’s definitely going to depend on your home environment. Light , water quality, and the color of the vessel you are using. Ficus elastica don’t seem to be too worried about humidity but it’s an added bonus. I would recommend frequent water changes, bright light, and a darker vessel.
Hi...generally the cuttings should be 4-6 inches long. If your cuttings are too long they might not root well. So it's better that you cut the stem into minimum 3-4 parts. And as we want the cuttings to use all the energy to make new roots, cut off extra bottom leaves and cut remaining leaves in half if they are big.
Didi water propagation ke wajase jo leave hai, jo water wale node ki sath dala hai vo bent hora due to excess water meko lagta uska kya kare? Aur didi ye kitne time tak water me rakhna hai sirf
@padminicoffee5339 It will just stay exactly as it is, but with roots. They are called Vampire leaves, because they are alive but not really, as they won't grow anymore.

Awesome…thanks for sharing
Good video thank you. Only suggestion: the music is too loud compared to the narrative voice.
Just one question - how long approximately should I keep it in the water, before putting it in the soil?
When you see roots
Very long. Unlike tomatoes which take a week to grow roots it may take 10 times longer to get enough roots on rubber tree cutting.

What happs to the old plant if it do a stem cut from the top? Does it stop growing?
It gets bushier, chopping the top off is recommended when you only have a slim one.
My rubber plant has dropped all leave what can i do

Beautifully featured! Keep up the good work! ✨🪴✨
Thank you!! 😁
why do I have to remove the bottom leaves? or why do I have to cut anymore than the first initial cut to separate the top from the initial plant?
You want a node to be in the water so it can root
How do i get more branches in my plant? Its growing taller. But i want it to be bushy with branches.
Cut the ends of the branches off and replant them. The energy in the main plant branches will stay further down and sprout newbies
what if it has a flower? do i need to cut the flower or not?
Thanks a lot

Spring and early summer months are best for porpagation.
Can leaf propagate? One mature leaf fell down so, I put the leaf on the bowl full of water.
