- Hello, here is a new episode of my Natural light Photoshoot series for @amandapelkins UA-cam channel!!
I have recently purchased Canon's pancake lens (Canon 40mm 2.8) and I'm super enjoying shooting with it. So I decided to do a whole shoot using nothing but that lens on my R6 body.
It was so fun to have 2 of my son's friends join me for this episode. We shot at one of my favorite beaches in Southern California, Leo Carrillo State Beach. Please make sure to check out their Instagrams: / cieramuscarella and / kendylblau
The girls are so beautiful and were so good at following directions and trusting me with my ideas. As for the concept, all I knew is that I wanted denim on the beach during sunset. However, I had to make peace with shooting at mid-day instead because the tide would be very high at sunset time. As a natural light photographer, I've learned that you don't mess with Mother Nature and just go with the flow instead. Regardless of the major lighting switch, I'm so happy that I was able to capture all the images I had in my mind from the moment I saw this shoot in my head.
As you'll be able to see in the video, I only used my R6 and the same lens. Absolutely nothing else. The settings are included for each shot.
I’m still not exactly comfortable being filmed, but I’m trying to share more of my process anyway. I’d love feedback on what more you’d like to see so that I can focus on that for the upcoming episodes.
