Be careful about this with rice. There is a specific type of spore that can be dormant in dried rice but will be activated by the liquid when cooking it and it isn't killed by the heat of cooking, so if you allow it to cool to room temp and sit around for a few hours the spores will start growing and won't be killed by reheating or refrigeration at that point.
