Got myself PXC 550-II, upgraded from previous 2+ years old original PXC 550. Really like their sound quality compared to other brands in this price range.
@@michup86 I'd suggest to upgrade to Momentum 4 Wireless, now that it is available, which I did already and very satisfied. Much wider sound stage, nearly same signature but PXC are more neutral sounding, which you can also nearly achieve on M4 using EQ with their app.
thanks, i was looking for information if M4 can be fixed by EQ to make them neutral with similar profile a PXC550. I red on headphonesty page that M4 sound is very average and hard to fix with limited EQ from Sennheiser app. While on M3 it's doable which sound quality wise makes them better choice but sacrifice ANC and mic performance. Regarding M4 compared to PXC550 do they feel comfort wise similar? They are heavier and I've red that touch panel is oversensitive.
@@michup86 For me the weight is good, there is little difference, comfort wise they are really good. As per sensitivity, people are always unsatisfied - too sensitive, not enough sensitive; for me they work great. :)
Just got these, and love the sound!!! The S sound harshness was noticable at first, but I quickly got used to it. As someone who owns Sennheisers that cost 10x more than these, I can say that they hold up really really well soundwise. I'm a bit more lukewarm on the other features (agree with mostly everything in this video). However, compared to the comically bad Sony xm4s, I think I will likely be keeping these. To be frank, the Sony's sound like toy headphones compared to these.
Sadly, I ended up returning these. The Bose QC35 are just too close to these in sound quality, and all the other features (software, firmware, comfort) are just much much better. If the Sennheisers hadn't been so buggy, they would have been keepers. Annoying bugs like the volume suddenly changing and being delayed were dealbreakers for me.
@@afd1040 Since I wrote this comment, Sennheiser released the Momentum 4s, which are the best Bluetooth headphones I've ever owned. I cannot recommend them highly enough! I think it was the Bose QC35 II that I was comparing it to back then.
I also prefer complete audio neutrality. Voice clarity and instrument separation do it for me as well. Just ordered a set. Can't wait to try them out. Thanks. Great video. 👍🏾
@@verynick I bought Sony xm4 recently and the noise cancellation is good but sound quality is just utterly disappointing and they have lot of issues there is white noise and left ear is making heavy crackling sound I'm going to buy these 550ii soon.
Hey, I own ver 1 PXC550 and I like it netural sound and the comfort and quality ANC and microphone for calls compared to Momenum 3. However, I'm struggling should I upgrade from PXC 550 to version II or consider Momentum 3 or 4. I think M4 has a lot of features and utility as PXC line but sound is off, M3 people say that after tuning sound better, but its subjective, I like neutral sound of PXC550. What Im' interested if one can make M4 or M3 close to neutral to justify the swap from old PXC - in other hand moving to PXC550 v2 seems forced too, as there is little added apart from better codecs (no USBC and ambient sound). Is there any justification to move from PXC550 to any of v2, M3 or M4?
Dude, you don't know these headphones well enough. The settings on the ANC is not what you describe it as. You clearly haven't researched why the microphones are configured the way they are. Also these headphones only connect to two devices, so there are phone 1 and phone 2... no 3 and 4 and 5. Agree with you on the sound though, the DLC does help with the harsh "ssss"'s, at least in my experience. The touch sensitivity isn't unreliable really, it just requires a particular touch, so once you get used to it they work 100%.
I disagree with you on the touch controls. You press it 3 times to activate "transparency mode" but that never works. It usually pause the music instead and only works 10 percent of the time for me. The ANC first setting is user mode and the second is max.
@@SlideoStudios Dude, back to my point. You don't know these headphones well enough. You tap 2 times for transparency mode, not 3 times, you should know that after so many months. If you get used to the rhythm at which to tap for transparency, it is reliable, it is just something to get used to. Perhaps your struggle is that you are tapping 3 times.
A bit late of a comment but, it's a analog jack. Any headphone with a analog jack is capable of playing lossless as it will just take whatever the input throws at it.
Looking for a pair of headphones for movies/TV.. Do you think these would be good for them?? Any recommendations?? Not too worried about NC.. already have Bose Q35, but looking for something a bit louder. Thanks
Hi, I use these for movies, really great. Especially if you ensure you run a good codec and with Dolby Atmos and have DLC turned on. However, if you are looking for more volume, these are not the headphones for you. They are particularly quiet, doesn't bother me because I am sensitive to loudness, but it is not for everyone.
How to enable or disable transparent hearing mode during calls? Usually I end up taking too loud as I am not hearing my own voice. Is there any setting to adjust the ambient sound ?
When you are in a call, the headphones automatically make it so you can hear yourself easier if you have it setup correctly. Its not as loud as transparent mode but you would still be able to hear yourself.
Thanks for the review I had the original pair Thought the sound was ok but as you say the right ear cup touch mode is "pieces of crap" 😂 I'm going with the Bose qc35
This is really in depth in and high quality. Especially for a channel this size.

I must've gotten lucky; the touch controls have worked pretty flawlessly for my the past 6 months.
Excellent review, bought them today for 156 USD on amazon, I know this price should be no-brainer but I had to get my final decision.
Worth it?

Can it be used wired and at the same time so mic is working and without power and ANC?
Does this headphones have 3D audio support?
Supposedly, these and the momentum 3’s can play lossless music if wired to a computer. Have you tried?

There is not much difference from the II and the original besides the design. I happen to have both models .

Yeah it really is disappointing. I do prefer the sound over the BOSE for the type of music I listen to.
mic test?
At time stamp 4:15 you said that aux port is not a 3.5mm standard. Do you know what it is?
2.5mm. You get cable that is 2.5 to 3.5mm
