Absolutely it was a woman who anointed Jesus with the alabaster oil! It’s not about the oil, it’s about the faith and expectations you expect from it. I would anoint your house, cars and your marriage and your kids. Faithfully believing the anointing! Thanks Paul
I've anointed myself a couple of times and my sister with oil and immediate healing happened and it was just ordinary baby oil. So now I've anointed my dad and a friend of mine but no immediate HEALING came to them???
Maybe God is not going to heal them in whatever healing was needed on this side of life. But, be healed in eternity... Or, maybe He will heal them, but is going to heal them down the track... Or, if there is unrepentant sin that needs to be dealt with first... Or, a lesson that needs to be learnt first... Etc... Not every Christian always gets healed. You can have as much faith in Him as you possibly can, and still not get healed...
since it's symbolic, then what's the point? we all need help from God alone period. So why would the oil applied in faith have anything to do with anything? Forget that.
There is more to it. In the OT ornaments and utensils used in service were oiled as God saying: "this is mine!". When seriously ill it is good to know who is your Dad 😉. In the new covenant. We are indwelled by the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead.... I normally command healing, since we already are co-cruisified, co-raised, co-seated in Christ, the last Adam.
The recipe for the anointing oil given to Moses was only to anoint sacred things NOT people apart from Aaron and his sons ( Exodus 30: 30-33) The oil James is refering to must be different?
Yes. You are absolutely correct...good massage. Thanks.
Can a women anoint the sick with oil or must it be an elder? Thank you

By their faith they are healed, you had faith it worked for you, but they didn't believe, so it didn't work for them
