    What a great video to watch Wes showing folks that things can be fixed even if you can't get the parts anymore from the company that sold it.
    Wes you have so much knowledge in that head of yours! I hope that you are helping other farmers that can't afford or can't get the parts that things can be fixed.

    We have a 20' (32 units) 750 completely apart on floor. And 15' partially. Last of parts for 20' finally arrived after 8 month wait. Price of parts are going up and availability/delivery times questioable. We should have ordered more parts for 15' earlier, but we did not look over good enough earlier. They will be dealt with tomorrow. Lots of work but 750 in shape is as good as a new 1590 according to Phil at Needam Ag. and Matt at Exapta. We are doubling ballisting ability also.The bearing set-up for disk openers are a typical tapered wheel bearing. We like to adjust for play after mounting unit and just before mounting guage wheel. Think Phil Needham had vidio telling about torquing based on his experience.. We got parts from Shoup, Needham, Exapta, Red-E, CFC Dist., and SIE dist. Trying comparisons on different parts.

    Yep do what ya gotta... good fix on the seal not seating on the arm, but you didn't lube the seal lips before pushing them into the hub? I'd have run a little grease around/between them myself just to make sure it's not dry rubber running on dry steel... that's no bueno IMHO. Later! OL J R :)

    Wes, Mobilgrease XTC would work very well on the pins of your drill and you might find that you don't need to regrease as often. If you don't want to use up the XTC on that, you might try Mobilgrease CMP. It is meant to be used in pins and bushings on heavy equipment.

      Well when he can get the parts he needs and the ones he can’t he will work something out it seems far more logical to take the time and spend a small amount of money compared to paying for a newer machine to sit there a do very little acres in a year

    That seed boot bushing, I got a similar kit from craft aircraft LLC, make sure and put copper grease on the boot that holds on the seed booth or it will seize in it and you'll have a serious pain in the ass the next time you have to change the booth

    Would like to know how much the rebuild kit cost bc thinking about getting a older drill like that to plant some water ways and a couple hay fields I want to grow nothing to big just a few acres for alittle bit of hay for my cattle during winter months here in Central Nebraska

    • @jvin248
      @jvin248 2 роки тому

      Look for "food plot planter" or "drill" if you are not planting hundreds of acres.

    • @fredkohlman8860
      @fredkohlman8860 2 роки тому

      Parts for complete rebuild job can easily surpass/exceed $250/$350 per unit, depending on condition. And believe it that every angle of attack from every part is critical for the desired results as originally designed into machine. Too many fail on maintaining a higher degree of maintenance on these drills.

      If you listen closely you will hear what he says!

    Wes I was only 8:00ish minutes in when I started typing and at 9:28ish it looks like you are headed there😉😷🖖🏼
    Is it worth your time/money to get some 1” round stock and cut a shoulder down to 3/4” and remove old pin/shaft and press in the made up piece and weld if necessary it in OR drill old pin out 3/4” and slide 3/4” round stock in?
    I wonder if that guy who thought I was trolling you will speak up on my idea he hasn’t said anything about me lately on any channel I “Comment” on
    Thanx Wes (& Theresa) still lovin’ your videos from just east of the left coast near Krapramento, California the Krapital/Krapitol.
    The outgunned 🐘’s in our gubernent want to temporarily drop our ~20¢/gallon phuel tax BUTT the 🐴(🦄) won’t let it onto the floor of the Sen(il)ate or “legit”stature and the CHEAPEST I can find around Krapramento is $5.29.9/gallon cash.
    If Putin starts shooting I am close enough to the Krapital in Krapramento that I will be getting more than a sunburn

    should always rub a bit of grease or oil around the seal before you put it on.
    reason it doesn't fit is it's the wrong size seal, should be a number on the seal to represent the diameter of inner and outer.
    be on the original seal.
    silicone grease should be better repels water better
    why don't you skim the pins then weld the pins with bronze and put them in the lathe and skim them down to size. bronze well have a natural lubricant and is better than steel on steel should never be used.
    use a paper flat wheelset for reaming out better than the drill.
