Comfort handles make a big diffrence indeed. How long the cutting edges last depends on the angle of edge, type of steel and how well they are heat treated. All of them eventually will chip and deform if you cut enough hard wire. The only cutter that surprised me in terms of durability of edges is Knipex 74 91 250. They last so long it doesn't even make sense. I think their durability comes from the angle of edge which is wider (more obtuse) than mini bolt cutters. This means unbeatable durability but require more force due to the their traditional mechanism.
As per similar models The kinipex will snap before the Capri does it's a great Investment for the money and American made. Try a hardened allen wrench... but move up to the 712xxxx kinipex model the comfort grip and open lock spring system makes the kinipex worth the extra few bucks to own.
Project Farm did a test. The Capri tools cut better than the knipex. I enjoyed your video but your tests are not scientific. Project Farm uses a gauge and a press to get accurate information. Your information is subjective
Yeah, the Knipex came out slightly more durable in that test, but yeah, in terms of cutting the Capri really performed well. Be interesting if the Knipex has better QC and less variance, but those Capris are really impressive.
Great video, really useful to see a comparison between these two. It's good to know what the Capri cutters are able for straight out of the box. I don't know if you're pronouncing Klinge correctly or not, but I'm afraid to say you're definitely making a shit of Knipex :)
Knipex is pronounced as "Kuh-nigh-pex," with the "K" sound being spoken despite it often being silent in English words. This pronunciation follows the German origin of the brand name, where 'K' is typically not silent as it can be in English, and 'Kn' is a common consonant cluster in German.

That is the Knipex model I need to pick up.

Look pretty good for the price.
They look ok but it’s how long they last before chipping. Thanks for posting Ben 👍🙂
That is the question. Time will tell.

Either would be great in a truck

You are officially wrong. Here's how it's supposed to be pronounced: ua-cam.com/users/shorts4OWs7a9jww8
Hardly bolt cropper's. More like heavy duty wire cutters.
That is really a pretty good descpription.
In Knipex, the "K" is silent, btw.
No, no it isn’t, but thanks for your help.
It’s definitely not silent. You can call them and find out.
Knipex made a video about how Knipex is said so you're saying the company don't know how to say the name of their tool??
It's not silent, but I say nipex anyways.
