I am from Rajasthan but I live in gujrat for 10 years and seriously the gujrati foods give feelings of heaven.
Atleast,that is not what my sister thinks, she lived in jaipur for 18 years then went to NID Ahmedabad where she found the city to be dead and the city food not that interesting to eat and expensive at the same time.

@@ridj41 yeah i think ahemdabad has some cool night culture but yeah you have to explore the city first to know that places like i have seen 30-40 people playing random garbas in hangout spots at 4 pm in the morning manek chawk,SBR social nd many cafes only opens up after 10 pm

I am Gujrati from Maharashtra and I can definitely say Aamras and Puri is one of the best combo out there. You can find it even in restaurants here they call it "Aamras puri"

@@OrewaPein 😂Gujarat is basically Amdavad -Vadodara -Surat belt since 10th century and yes kathiyawadi food is not Gujarati food you will rarely find locho, undhiyu, umbadiyu, tuver na thota, sev usal, ragda khaman, panki, bhakarwadi, vedmi, lilva kachori in kathiyawad and along with it it's rare to find bhungla bateka, lasaniya bateka nu saak, bajra no rotla ne olo, ghughra, bhaji cone, dryfruit kachori,khajli etc in Gujarat unless a kathiyawadi person sells it , Being from kathiyawad living in South Gujarat I can know the difference in taste and food, we are Gujaratis by language but our cuisine has different identity almost everywhere you will find written kathiyawadi dhaba instead of Gujarati dhaba, but you will find Gujarati farsan shops not kathiyawadi (in name of shape) farsan shops

In Gujarati you will also have variation in shrikhand as Gujarati મઠો and મઠી , you will get countless flavours

As a gujarati i consider shrikhand as authentic maharashtrian dish. There are many similarities between these two states .
Gujarat , Saurashtra, Kutchch ma varso varas thi khavay che , it has its origin here too.. also there is મઠો and મઠી which has variation based on consistencies.. So in Gujarat it is GUJARATI.

there are 2 types of authentic food in gujarati,.. 1 Gujarati food ( sweet ) and second kathayavadi food ..
true gujurati eats have two types of food in our family we eat both type of kadi and dal but my favourite kadhi is khati mathi. and favourite dal is sweet dal but not too sweet but i like spicy food more than sweet i just like sweetnes in dal and kadhi
Next time when you want to eat Gujarati food then i suggest you to go with a Gujarati guy, your whole experience will be different , don’t forget to visit manekchok , located in old Ahmedabad, and please try some street thali not the fancy restaurants 👍🏼

What you say dhokla is actually khaman and as a gujarati sandwich dhokla is one of my favourites so you need to do some research before reviewing the food of other cultures and and and if you think dal is sweet in every house of Gujarat than you are definitely so wrong cuz in gujarat there are two types first one who like sweet and sour kinda dal and the other ones are the spicy eaters ... Anyways you should atleast know about puri and ras like seriously dude.....hope you liked our gujarat!!
