  • CAMPBELL CLIP: A Guitarist's Story in Fifteen Seconds. Glen Campbell followers will recognize this memorable riff from his guitar intro on 'Southern Nights'. When you hear the riff on the radio or a streaming service, you realize you're about to hear one of the "tunes that you know and love so." Glen credited the riff for propelling the success of "Southern Nights" and readily credited its originator, Jerry Reed, singer-songwriter-guitarist. Jerry not only wrote the riff, but also incorporated it on several of his own songs, most notably 'Stump Water', an instrumental track on his Grammy Award-winning duet studio album with Chet Atkins (1970). ~ / glencampbellacampbello...
