This scene is so wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time. It was truly such a wonderful and happy moment and then she goes and says, “No walls No secrets.” That sentence makes me want to cry because he wants to tell her the truth. He wants to be a better man for her to make her happy to be everything she wants. He didn’t want to make her sad. He didn’t want to see the pure joy on her face disappear. He wanted her to be happy... At the end when she hugs him you can see his face turn from joy to disappointment not in Emma but himself for not telling her the truth. Each time I watch Emma run down those stairs full of hope and joy knowing she wants to marry him and that she believes in him. That she trusts him more than anything is absolutely amazing! The growth we see from her over all the seasons is actually amazing!! Just for fun: Emma’s reaction to the proposals: Walsh, (even though Walsh never loved Emma) With Walsh I think they were dating for 8 months at that point? Walsh has caught her off guard with the proposal. Taking her to the restaurant they first went to and giving her the dish she had the first time he put the ring in the dessert/on the plate. Emma was surprised not ready for marriage. Killian/Hook, Killian never actually caught Emma off guard. Emma was the one to find the ring she didn’t panic she just ran down the stairs to Killian, (when he got home) and Emma said, “There you are!” Kissing him with a happy look on her face. Killian proceeds to tell her about his secret or to be more precise what he did. When Killian says, “I don’t know how you’re gonna react...” Emma thinks he’s gonna propose. Emma says, “Well maybe I can make it easier by telling you my answer would be yes.” With a hopeful look on her face. Emma at this point wasn’t afraid of the future she wanted to be with the man she loves and trusts. A few lines later she says, “I know I ruined the surprise but what do you say?” Still smiling and having hope in her eyes. Killian gets down on one knee and proposes Emma smiling while he does. She happily says, “Yes Killian Yes!” Kissing him while crying joyfully. You can really see the character development. That she took down her walls for someone she truly trusts and loves. That she believes in a future with Killian. I don’t know how long I’ve been sitting here typing this but I think it was worth it
My favorite part that Emma say yes that she shouldn’t have she found a ring in the sea chess that’s my favorite part I laugh so hard when she found a ring and she say yes but hook almost told Emma that he killed her grandfather but since she found a ring he didn’t want Emma to be upset so he put a ring on her finger

You are not worthy of this proposal Hook! You need to tell her the truth and you lost your chance because that stupid ass Gideon sent you literally into another realm. You need to get back to her, you need to tell her the truth and your next proposal better be EPIC.
