They actually made an Documentary in 2020 about Simon & Garfunkel and actually went to their roots (quite some videos of some of their songs during the documentary on youtube as well). They're less popular these days but great singers in both Dutch and English. Should be able to find some nice music if you're into this!
Yes but which month? He wants to see Ladies of Soul, Kingsday, SAIL and Toppers. Not to mention: tulipfields, Alkmaar cheesemarket maybe, etc. He definitely should see the waterworks Zeeland/Afsluitdijk etc etc. He’d have work and “play” here! 😳🌷🌷🌷🌷
Great singers beautiful voices and tv documentary makers, they went to the USA for a program called The American dreamteam. And they made a documentary in Sweden about Abba.
Thanks for sharing. I love this old songs. It's a universal thing. Did you know that they were called by the real Art and Simon? A friend off both where in the audience and had goosebumps. He did't expect the sound of these two Young man, and called to Art and Simon to listen. It became a friendship.
Nick and simon i love them only when they sing in English. They made a docu in America called "The America dream "They got back to the time of Elvis, visit Elvis's grave, met people who have knwn him They song American songs in little bars .Visit diffrent places in America where music were made in the past.Great docu! They also search for Simon and Carfunkel. That docu called" Homeward bound".They met people who have workt with Simon and Carfukel. imagine this. he introduces Marcel Fisser as the guitar (mandolin!!) player on the far left. It's the same Marcel Fisser who later on formed his own band and for years already is the band leader accompanying all artists in the "Beste Zangers' show... Marcel is epic!
Wow, thank you for this. Aren 't they great. Oh I never thought that my? request would be answered by you. Many people must have requested this. Thank you.

So nice to hear Nick & Simon sing. My daughter was also there in the audience with her 8 friends. They also come from My village Volendam 🥰 on the ZUIDERZEE. I once told you that Volendam is a musical village with many Artists and I am proud of it. May I say that??? 🤭 Thank You so much and love ❤️ Greetings ♥️ from Volendam
After the first song Nick asks the audience if they know their latest single Rosanne (their most popular song). The audience starts cheering and then Nick jokes "we won't play that one tonight, but you might know the song on the B-side of that single" 😂
Yeah !! I am so happy that you did a reaction to Nick & Simon. They are my all-time favorite singing group. Their harmonies are always impeccable. They do covers in English so well that it's hard to realize that it's not their native language. It should be noted that they are awesome songwriters in their right, and their songs are always hitting gold and platinum. They write a lot of the scores for rom-coms and chick flicks in Holland. They also have several hit television shows to their credit. Two years ago they did a documentary on Simon & Garfunkel, and Paul Simon sent them a video message afterward congratulating them. Last year they did a documentary on ABBA, and they actually performed several songs with ABBA. In their concert tours, they like to do a medley of songs from whatever country or whatever group they are covering in their television shows. In 2009 they did a medley of Wham songs at one of their concerts, and it was a really big hit. I think the audience reaction at the end is when they realized for the first time that they had gone from stardom to super-stardom. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/VJMAtt91ZEM/v-deo.html
Wow, it's probably mentioned before... But you don't know Cecilia? It's just about a writer's block that was lost but came back. Think I must have been 10 years old or so when I got my first record of Simon & Garfunkel. The known Bridge was A side and Cecilia B. Together with the yellow Submarine my first English lessons. Been to Simon & Garfunkel concert ages ago.... Perfect! Amsterdam AJAX stadium. Anyway... Your channel is awesome... Part of my favourites.. Keep going 👌
Regarding the pillow, I do believe the amphitheatre there is built with stone benches/stairs hence why one may bring a pillow. More likely though this was bought at the merch stand for the duo.
The beautiful venue in the woods, is called Caprera. It’s an open air concert venue in the wealthy village of Bloemendaal. Not far from where I live in the city of Haarlem. This place is built on the valley of several large dunes, which are covered with a thick old forest. Beautiful place to go to, and listen to some great music.
These 2 guys and most the band (usually) all come from the old village of Volendam on the 'zuiderzee' (inner lake nowadays) a fishing town that is steeped in typical Dutch history and their dialect is kinda singy as well. That place produced many good singers because it is well supported in that town/village. I remember an away game (handball) in Volendam (and I was injured with torn muscle/tender) sitting in the stands in the middle of the home crowd with other reserve team mates etc. There where some die hard Volendam fans talking in their dialect (most Dutch people wouldn't understand) and bashing my team haha.. little did they know i'm from a similar village/town on the 'zuiderzee' called Enkhuizen and I could actually understand them :P so i told them to be nicer haha. They actually asked me on what boat my father/uncle/grandad fished haha) nice vid again mate ;)
Wow lovely to see them so young! These two have done very well over the years and still do. Their voices are a great match and allows them to sing a wide variety of songs and styles. It's always a pleasure to listen to Nick & Simon. This theater is something special to. I've been there a number of times and it simply gives any performance this little extra. It's an open air theater in a little dune valley. The open air and the dunes give something special to the sound. I just love that place!
You don't know 'Cecilia" from Simon & Garfunkel? Funny that! Everytime I mention my name is Cecilia to other people they start singing this particular song lol!
Nick and Simon are also the presentators of a view of your reaction to the Beste Zangers seasons and also Jan Smit whas. .. Hahaa...just a funny fact .. 😜
Yeah. I waited for this soo long time. They are very good. Please react more of Nick and Simon. Please react to their combine "Sound of Silence and I am yours" And another Nick sang solo "Hallelujah".
I love your reaction about Cecilia, i know that song but never listened to it that close, really strange lyrics actually. You are right Cecilia better not come home.🤣❣️
Nick and Simon also presented Beste Zangers when their friend Jan was ill. They are also from Volendam, the town of BZN, Jan Smit, the three J's, the Cats and Mel a.o. All representatives of the famous Volendam "eel sound". Why "eel"? Because Volendam was a fishing village at the North Sea, but when that was closed off to reclaim the land which is now Flevoland, the Volendammers had to become sweet water fishermen and started catching eel.
They made a couple of music series where they dig in the historie of the music/band. I can watch/listen them for hours on end. Kees who's a best friend/PA, joins them on their travels, lot's of laughter guaranteed!! 💜🍀
inbetween the sound of silence and the boxer he asked who had bought their single "rosanne". Then he said "well we're not gonna play that one, we're gonna play another one" and then people in the audience started singing rosanne XD
11:47 Don't know this particular amphitheater, but often times there you sit on stone benches. Nice then to have a pillow under your tushy, especially one with the face of one of the singers on it, that you can wave around from time to time. Maybe the other side has the other face. Can't see and can't tell who is who, but I do know they are very very popular with a younger female audience, without being a boyband. Good musicians. Another glimpse of their talent: ua-cam.com/video/ccNKd_WTGyc/v-deo.html
You already know the faces of these 2 guys because they were the 2 hosts of Beste zangers 2020 instead of Jan Smit (who is 1 of the four Toppers). And sometimes Edsilia Rombley is doing the presentation of tis show. You know her from the Ladies of Soul. The presesentation of the Beste Zangers is always done by singers.
Wow. This combination is from the album I had 4 copies of(each destroyed one by one by badly placed needles. The boxer is really an underrated Simon and Garfunkle song.
When I listen to Cecilia I'm not thinking she's a woman, I'm thinking she's a cat. We used to have one that would be gone for days, turned out she had a 2nd home, 2 blocks away. Another great song about cats is Delilah by Queen imo. Don't know if there is a version on YT. If there is I know where to put it 😉
Nice!! I would love to hear ‘Gerard Joling - Eloise Toppers in Concert 2013’ that was an phenomenal performance, he did a couple of this covers. For example: Music from John Miles, a Shirley Bassey medley, All By Myself. Well, Gerard is just the best singer of the Netherlands and you really should hear it!! Would love to see your reaction 😁
