I don't get why DGR has a 10 minute time limit per level? If he was doing that occasionally as a special challenge or something okay, but why make it the standard? He could tweak that and add the remaining time he had from the last level to the next level.

He has ADHD, maybe that was the reason, but not the levels that had easy ways to avoid said softlocks. 20:44 ... I saw something else in that level's thumbnail ... no, nvm. Dave failing many times, while not trying stuff ... average DGR video/stream XD I said to myself "Maybe kicking the Koopas against those questionmark blocks?", but Dave was jumping around too much, and when he almost was done, he skipped Morton, haha! The thing about a softlock is that, even if it’s easy to avoid, there should always be a way out of it (even if it’s just a pit that the player can hurl themselves into), particularly after a checkpoint. That way, while failure can still have some consequences (needing to restart from the checkpoint; losing a life), the player can still make progress *within* the gameplay experience, rather than having to either leave that experience by opening the pause menu or experience a real-world penalty of having to wait potentially several minutes where you do not get to enjoy gameplay at all. It’s a shame, because otherwise it was a clever and fun little level. I hope the designer learned from the playthrough because they clearly have a lot of potential.
