Thanks so much for the video. I’m doing this exact flight in two weeks. Was it full?
Nice vlog! Thanks for sharing the QF A380 economy experience in the other direction to the London-bound QF1 I tried out last year! Whilst I don't doubt that seat has good legroom- I'm keeping with a window seat any day!
@@JettTyler17 my only saving grace ignoring the charging point is that the seats are probably more padded 😂 💺
Were they OK on QF1? I forgot if you had the old or the new ones ✈️
@@liftoffandtravel I think it was the new cabin? The IFE in economy was very buggy that evening. Luckily my middle seat was empty, so I used the middle seat screen. No issues from what I recall using my usb charger.
@@JettTyler17 oh.. Was it only USB A? As a regular travelling you know the annoyance of a very unresponsive IFE 😂
@@liftoffandtravel It was USB-A to my knowledge. Not a lot of airlines I've flown with that have charging ports have the newer USB-C points
Good Review, I assume 69D would also be a good seat as you could fully recline without disturbing anyone behind you without paying the extra cost
Well, that was another excellent, clear presentation. I have watched several current reviews for Qantas, and I would say the consensus is not overly optimistic, which is quite a change from reviews from years back. I do not think they sell TimTams in the USA, so I have never had one. I do not often look at candy when I travel, so who knows, I might have foolishly passed up this treat.
I guess because they are a foreign treat naturally we are drawn to them. What would travel be without a little snack now and then.
I have to say I was skeptical because of all those reviews that said Qantas has lost it's way but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Had nothing really to complain about... except the plug
@@linyep haha I was so jet lagged at that point didn't even think about it. Good ideas 💡
Waitrose now sell TimTAms, as does Amazon. Nice video.
Thank you Colin for watching but also that very useful piece of info. Question is are they reasonably priced in Waitrose 😊 if so I'm heading over 😂
@@liftoffandtravel They are more expensive than Penguins, but if it’s what you want…..
Q had it all their way for decades with next to no competition and now the complacency and laziness is finally beginning to catch up with them. They need to get their act together and fast
I think a lot of airlines are like this. Sister company British Airways held on to club World for ages despite being not very competitive.
This is one of a few that is left to refit.
I'm 193cm tall. I really wish short people would not book the exit row seats, have some consideration and let us tall people pay for and have these seats,
@@jethrotaylor2614 I really do feel for you. I'm 5'9 and comfortable in most (not all) seats.
I find 2hrs fine but anything over that the body wants variety. Different positions.
Sadly besides Business Class it's just unatural to be in a seat for 10hrs let alone trying to sleep 😴💺
there needs to be a petition to keep you out of coach and into at least business class😀
Small correction for you, that aircraft is VH-"Oscar"QL not "Zero"QL. Numbers have only recently started to appear in Australian registrations but the Qantas A380s are all VH-Oscar Quebec (Letter).
I miss the old upstairs economy on Qantas' A380s, absolutely brilliant spot that never really got filled out.
@@melbournesbaddrivers4831 appreciated corrections are always welcome including how I ended up in Bangkok today and not Hong Kong. An error on my part in my diary 😭😂
I wonder where I got the registration from.
Why was the upstairs unpopular on the old config?
