I dare anyone to work as hard as Redgrave did, at anything in their life, for a mere four months, let alone decades. Beyond inspirational. Beyond words.
I am rewatching all these old classics. Sir Steve Redgrave, the greatest Olympian we have ever produced in GB. I get goosepimples watching this. Tears streaming. Not that they need it, but if any Team GB athlete needs insipration, watch this clip. Awe-inspiring. Now onto London2012 - these games will prove to be legendary for my great country.
Darren Taylor i like your enthusiasm. However i don't appreciate when you say 'we produced'. We didn't produce anything. It was all in steves hands, only steve produced 5 olympic medals. Britain was only his country.
A true Legend. Olympic Gold in 5 consecutive Olympic Games. In an endurance sport. And, prior to Sydney 2000, he was diagnosed with diabetes. He is awesome. Or should I say Oarsome?! Hope he's the one chosen to light the Olympic Flame in London on Friday...
That is really unfair. The Italian press and people were extremely generous in their praise. Within the rowing community, even the father of one of the Italian rowers wanted Redgrave to win!
@christodavoreen Reiner Klimke won gold medals in Equestrian in 1964, 1968, 1976, 1984, and 1988, but didn't get one in 1972 or 1980. Aladár Gerevich won 6 golds in Fencing from 1932 to 1960, but missed out on two Olympics because of WW2. Pál Kovács, another fencer, won 5 gold medals in the same time frame, but again, Olympics were not held in 1940 or 1944. I think Sir Steve Redgrave is the only Olympian to win gold in 5 consecutive games.
@vatech1515 Lol i wasn't being sarcastic :) That really does inspire me. I've only been rowing for 2 years now lol and being at a :50 on the erg is wild.

@BlackDaggerGal619 What are you talking about? My point was that pushing your body to the limit is what champions are made of.
@srsly101

@AH6582674 Now We Are Free I think. Was also the theme tune for the film Gladiator.
