This is so joyful! During this pandemic we should all share things that fill our hearts with joy for the moment and hope for the future! Thank you so much for doing all the work you did to share your joy with other’s. It’s breathtaking and it makes me feel like a kid again!!!
That's incredible ! It also reminds me of the scene in The Polar Express where the train is chugging up a mountain till it gets to the top and then passes over a steel girder bridge as the conductor is talking to the children about his experience on his first run on the PX when his life was saved by something or someone that he couldn't see.
So, the woodworker in me thinks that the tree is not real. The giant spiral helix is the main structure and needs to be made first. Then the tracks laid out and the functioning train tested and working going up and down reliably. THEN....Artificial Christmas pine branches are stuffed between the layers of track. Giving the illusion of a tree with a track around it. You might even buy wreaths of different diameters to stack between layers. Not sure if this masterpiece was made this way? But if I were to make this, that's how I would build it. Fantastic job!
This so awesome! I wonder where did you buy it, especially the tracks and the additional supportive arms on the tree? I guess it is a Lionel train set + as many tracks you need to get the train until the top.
You definitely win! Wow! Great job!! Can you give any details on how you did the helix or the layout? I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to do this for years and years. This is gorgeous!
Josh, you did a fantastic job with this entire set up and it looks great! I would like to know.what size fast tracks you used for the outside layers and what size you used for the inside layer travelling downwards. Thank you!
Hello, I'm currently making a Christmas village tree display. I also have the Polar express train. I would love to have the train go up my tree display. Can you tell me what materials you used to make the circular train track platform? Did you buy the Polar express extra tracks? If so how many did it take? If you used another set of tracks, can you tell me what they were? Thank you. I think your display is spectacular!
WOW! This is the ultimate polar express christmas train layout. Too bad I traded my o gauge polar express for a s scale one... I would also love to know how you accomplished this layout!..
Looks like the Henning's train in tree. Great job! although not sure how you made it fit! Plans on original are 7ft wide and nearly 7 ft tall! I'm building a shorter version and making a mountain layout only making it run clockwise instead of CCW.
Mr. Marullo, This is beautiful and so creative. How may I go about obtaining the instructions on how you placed the train track in the Christmas tree? I have a grandson that speaks train language and would love this. Thank you.

@@brendamonrreal7887 Hi Brenda. The slope of the track going up must be less than the tractive effort of the locomotive. That is the reason the track is a helix going up the tree. Google "Model Train Helix Calculator" to see how to do this. Going down is a different problem. The train is going to pick up a lot of speed, and derailments are likely. Slowing it down will take either a gradual decline or a hand on the throttle (which is what I think this video did). I'd be happy to answer followup questions, but look at the helix calculator first, okay?
Omg!! This is awesome. wish you could make a video how it was all put together step by step.. This is my ultimate Christmas tree..

You and Bill Henning, incredible engineering. Fantastic.
I've never commented on anything online in my life .but I can't resist. Congrats to you that is simply AWESOME.
I’m an adult now but I’m a child at heart and still want this on my Christmas tree
Have you ever thought of selling a PDF builders guide to this beauty? If so, I'd buy one!!! Thanks.
Christmas is a blessed time of year!!!👍

Love it and I love that the train circles around the tree.

So cool, well done on a great job.
Wow absolutely stunning and the movie studio should take notes that trains don’t bend on curves like this and it’s still possible 😂❤
Wow! Very nice job in creating your display. I can tell you put a lot work in creating the tree with the Polar Express running through it!
Fantastic !!!!! Merry Christmas u jean yus you!!!!
WOW, how did you do build that? You are a true Christmas wizard
I got so anxious when it was going downhill. For a second it seemed like it was going to derail when it picked up speed!
This is the greatest setup ever.
This is so cute I bet all the fam goes to your house for Christmas I know I would enjoy it 😊

I think its a curved crossing that has 2 switch tracks pieces on either end that isn't being shown in camera view.
