PAVEMENTS Official Clip - New Venice 2024 Movie / "Pavement" documentary
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 лют 2025
- A clip from the film PAVEMENTS, which had its World Premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival in August 2024.
SYNOPSIS:
Pavements is a movie about Pavement the band-among other things. The latest film from acclaimed director Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell) is a documentary that may or may not be entirely true, may or may not be totally sincere, and may or may not be more about the idea of the band-or any band-than a history of the short-lived, passionately loved, commercially marginal Nineties American alternative group Pavement. Anchored by Pavement’s slacker-sage-sphinx, Stephen Malkmus, the film features performances by Joe Keery, Jason Schwartzman, Tim Heidecker, Kathryn Gallagher, Michael Esper and Zoe Lister-Jones, and editing by nonfiction innovator Robert Greene (Procession).

Um, that's not right and it's gay
Omgg Joe Keery in this movies feels like a dream
With movies like Tim Heidecker in them, you can’t lose!
One of my best friends in my youth loved Pavement and he was a alcoholic and hard drug addict, but the sweetest damn man I ever met. Also never took any shit from anybody.
“…not like The Replacements”
“Elvis Costello?”
Clicked for Pavement. Stayed for Tim Heidecker.
Great twist that Smashing Pumpkins ended up doing that SNL episode
Dude. Have you heard Pavement covering 1979?! Dead.
@@UgotdaJonx For real?

I don't remember lying
I don’t remember a word

Missed opportunity to name it “Gold Soundz”
I agree
This reminds me of that classic scene from Decker
aw damn, i have to re-establish that i'm a Pavement guy before the movie comes out so that people know i liked them before the movie.
Masterpiece incoming.
Pavement is my favorite band, cannot wait for this
Hey guys, bit of insider info for this upcoming 5 bagger… the VHS that appears on screen was acquired at Victorville Film Archive.
Anyone here listen to Smog?
Bill Callahan is a national hero, they should be making movies about him and his baritone….
Knock knock is one of my all time favourites!
.. and Will Oldham.

An Italian male was heard to say, "Between here and there is better than either here or there."
yes yessss yessss!!! i love pavement
wow this scene is great
Looking foeward to watching this🙋♂️
Office Hours LIve sure has come a long way.
Perry practically begging younger audiences to put it together. "See, you like Pavement, don't you? I'm like the filmmaking version of Stephen Malkmus!"
I am going to explode I am so excited
What about the voice of Tim Heidecker, how did it get so high?
How much does it add to what is already in "Louder than You Think"?
Hi! They're both very good films, but Louder Than You Think is about drummer Gary Young and is a traditional biopic, while this one kind of "embodies" the essence of the band with its non-conventional format too :-) It does mention Gary as well, but it's mainly about the band, not just in the Gary era but also after. We'd definitely recommend both!
joe keery as steve malkmus is legendary
aight i'm officially curious as hell
Cat video on VHS is the piece d resistance
wow
GTA 6 is gonna be so sick
I don't mean to be this guy but the black Mets hat didnt debut until 1999 or 2000 (someone please fact-check me wrong because I want this movie to be right)

Tim heidecker 😢
Joe is an ENTP and Malkmus is an INTP. Joe’s Malkmus is soooooooooooooo good.
unexpected mbti comment
Tim Heidecker! The Bill Maher we actually want.
Steve?!
Anyone else deeply skeptical?
No
@@kennethhaydel5694 Wish I felt the same.
Yeah. I find it completely cringe. But happy for the boys to have some recognition all the same. Even if it’s probably only pavement fans who will watch it. I’d love to know Malkmus’ real opinion on it 😂
Fuck no
I just got fooled by Forest Gump 2: Gumping Harder, Faster, Better, Stronger
PAVEMENT MOVIE?.?.???!!
If you buy into this kinda shit, that's the episode all the so-called cool kids will be watching.

Um, big true. So guess I'm a cool kid mark.
How do I watch?

why is the child from stranger things in this?
are you forreal
Pavement*s*? If they were going to name it something like that, it should have *Slanted and Disenchanted*.
Ahhhh you're not wrong! 😍 There is a reference to that in the film! I think you'll like it!
Yopee
I just bus a nuh
pqppppppppppp
Nice Mets cap
I don't get it. Is it a documentary or is it scripted?
It's both!
@@loudandclearreviews whoa cool
Slanted & Enchanted just got dusted off...f*ck I'm old.
Not a documentary.
It's kind of both a documentary and not a documentary at the same time! It's difficult to explain it because it has such a unique style ☺
Lifelong Pavement fan here. I found that clip annoying, is it supposed to be cool? Spoiled-slacker vibes.
Oooh I hope you watch the film! I'm a Pavements fan too and the clip is supposed to be annoying! I think you'll like the film!
@@loudandclearreviews alright, will do 👍🏻
If this is a real movie, and it's about how Pavement is "too good" for the mainstream, like they are congratulating them or some crap, I'm going to puke.
Go! Puke away sailor. Get mouthwash.
What the
Fud
Excited for this film about the golden era of white privilege
The Smashing Pumpkins played SNL with Tarantino as host. This must be a dig at them or something. Pavement is too cool for that. Lol
Cringe.
please dont let it be a too meta thing...

A band not a single person has heard of. Nobody will ever see this movie.

Not one. It was made by… wait? How did they make it if nobody has heard of them?!
@@cactaceous not sure. Alot of movies have been made about meaningless bullshit. And usually fail. This will likely be one of them. Who tf is pavement? Ask most people. They don’t know. This is a band that the majority of audiences don’t know exists.
@@someguy42093 They're a hugely influential band with a cult following. Just because most people haven't heard of them doesn't mean there's not a large audience who are massive fans. Go into any indie rock record store and you'll see their albums on display.

uggghhh CRIIINGE AFFFF
Yeah, we agree. Comment section tantrums are cringe AF.
Todd Haynes' VU doc makes this look like the half-assed shit it is. Schwartzman and Heidecker as smarmy, smug record label execs? Wow, how edgy. In 2012.
