You can really see what a tremendous difference your design adds to this beautiful house/setting when u look at the neighbors'! Stunning color & rock trim but the lights take it over the top! It's improved the neighbors' view so maybe they're not too jealous. 😎
Beautiful! What he didn't tell you is that the screen around the pool is to keep the Gators out and the rock around the outside is so that you can see the Boa Constrictors that are taking over the state!
How BEAUTIFUL Jack! Plant choice is excellent as per usual. Design is perfect for the home and location. LOVE the choice of rock lining all the beds and the area around the pool. Beautiful home! Thank for keeping us posted as to your latest efforts!! See you soon we hope 😊
Love the work you do in Michigan! How about doing some properties heavy on the Florida native plants? With your skill as an example, more people can go the route we all need to take to provide habitat for all of the songbirds, butterflies, bees, etc. Extra benefit: native plants can handle extreme heat, drought, and heavy rains.
Just beautiful Jack! Such a great addition of color and contrast to those flowerbeds. The builder’s idea of landscaping was like giving someone a plain bowl of oatmeal without anything else to jazz up the flavor. The exterior of this gorgeous home went from blah to pow! Nicely done.
Absolutely beautiful. I loved EVERYTHING and the homeowners must be so thrilled to have the best landscaping on the street! Greetings from Canada - with six foot tall snow banks and wishing we were in warm and sunny Florida! 🇨🇦
Beautiful gardens! Quick question about your work up north. I believe on a recent Garden Answer video, Laura said you sold your business on Mackinac...I may have missed it if you mentioned it on one of your videos. Will there not be anymore garden tours there? The gardens you toured us through were amazing and I always was excited to see a new space.
No- I’ll still have lots of up north videos! I sold the “crew” portion of the company- but am still doing a TON of design and project management of epic projects and we will be sure to dive into them with some great videos~~
I live in Tampa Florida and the sun is brutal in the summer and seems to kill off so many plants that and the summer rains tend to kill off the roots and then cause all kinds of fungus and just really takes a toll on gardens. You did a amazing job picking out good plants and also the rock border is genius for keeping the water of the summer away as well as pleasing to look at. Lighting is key and I love all your ideas!! Beautiful sunny Florida welcomes you Jack 😊
What a beautiful home! The gardens look so so good!! The side with the hedge to close in that area was my favorite! I can just imagine how pretty that will be!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Heard you sold your business in Mackinaw Island. I loved watching your videos up there. Gorgeous as well. Wont be the same without you. No Proven Winner show in August there either. So sad how good things have to end!!
I sold just the “crew” portion of my Mackinac company- I’m still doing a TON of design and project management on northern projects and we will have lots of videos exploring them!
Jack, Your use of color and texture of the plants and flowers just makes this house shine and stand out. The Aqua pot flower pots in the front will be spectacular and in scale with the facade of the house. The front needs BIG and you've brought it. Also, in the back a very nice touch having that palm tree planted at an angle so it grows OUT towards the water. Who thinks of that??? A very nice thought that most landscapers would never do. A great idea especially with a water view and the pool enclosure right behind it. You have taken this house from same old, same old blah to a show stopping stand out house. I love the idea of the small stones and your reasoning behind using them to line the driveway. I'm going to do that this spring around my mailbox where the water run-off from my front yard always washes away the mulch into the curb of the street. Thanks for the solution to THAT problem of mine. No matter where you are designing, MI or FL, I love what you design and your well thought out use of plants, flowers, color, textures and stone walkways and walls. You just add so, so much to each and every house you and your team work on. I cannot wait for more videos this season.
Love it Jack! You forgot to mention the screen keeps the gators out too! Lol! My daughter works at a native nursery in Parrish, FL near Bradenton called Sweet Bay. You should check it out, it's beautiful. The owners li e on the property and refurbished an old home that was falling down. My daughter, Leah, has turned her parking lot yard...literally the yard was pavement, into a native plant yard with tons of birds, hummers and butterflies. I'm currently in St. Pete for the winter to be near her.
I see that you illuminated your Aqua-pots in the front of that house and it looks great. Do you have actual illuminated Aqua-pots with built in lighting available for sale?
Hi To the Gorgeous Jack! Omg Jack that is flippen beautiful just Gorgeous. I absolutely love the spot and your hands are all over it. Great job wow 👌🏽 Wish I had those 💸 💵 💲 do my house
Please make a video about soil for flower beds. Wich soil you add? How you find out if the old soil is bad? Do you make a test? And how thick is the layer of new soil? And what soil you use? And do palm trees need special soil, e.g. if you plant them in pots, because you live in an country that has winter? Do they need salt in the soil?
Jack, so happy to hear that you are still designing on Mackinaw Island. I love the fact every design you show us is so unique. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the intentional lean to this tree. Most people try to make the leaning tree not lean, lol.
Wow - beautiful landscaping. I bet the neighbors are jealous that their yards are dull and boring vs vibrant like this home. Too bad the homes are so close together and look very similar in structure.
I only sold the “crew” side of things~ I am still doing all design and management of projects - Lots and lots of projects… up north- so- we will have lots of vids of up north projects coming soon… winter Florida, summer Michigan- :)
Everything you do is beautiful. You are a true visionary! Do you do online consulting in other states? I'm in North West Iowa, zone 5a, and I would like to redo the front entrance to my home.
You used the two plants I can not stand, and everyone is using them because they are cheap. They also look cheap. The podocarpus grows very slow and looks like a cheap weed. The Trinette which has a nice color looks cheap and grows weird, can never quite make a hedge. The GO TO hedge in my opinion is the sweet viburnum, you can make it any hedge size you want 2 feet to 20 feet and it still makes a strong hedge that can survive in the Florida sun. Nice design besides those two plants.
You can really see what a tremendous difference your design adds to this beautiful house/setting when u look at the neighbors'! Stunning color & rock trim but the lights take it over the top! It's improved the neighbors' view so maybe they're not too jealous. 😎
Thank you Jack! Everything is so beautiful. I really enjoyed the ocean waves at the end, the site and sound of the waves was so calming!
Thanks Jack! Absolutely stunning! Especially the nighttime pictures.
Lighting is so important!!!
Beautiful! What he didn't tell you is that the screen around the pool is to keep the Gators out and the rock around the outside is so that you can see the Boa Constrictors that are taking over the state!
You are living the best of both worlds - Michigan and Florida. And Florida is the dream in January.
Jack, that was so beautiful.
It’s fun seeing you in sunny Florida while sitting in snowy cold Michigan.
Its great that you can head south after you are done for the season up here in the north. You can work year round that way.
Really beautiful Mr Jack! Thank you for sharing your work of art
Wow. Its so amazing. Like night and day. I love it.
Thanks for some great ideas, as I live in Central Florida. Great to see you. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Thanks so much!
This makes me miss Naples so much!
Awesome Jack. You do great work.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love Ft. Meyer's. We vacation down there every year.
I love the idea of the rock perimeter around the lanai and the driveway.
Beautiful Jack!! You inspire me with your landscaping projects!! Wow. I've watched this video several times-- Thank you
Thanks!! We’ll be filming a lot more soon~
I wish here would be also good weather. The palm trees are so pretty.
Beautiful! The up lighting really is great at night!

Fabulous and beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us!
It's a WOW factor! 😊 Turned out beautifully, Jack! ❤️
Such a pretty landscape for the homeowners to enjoy! Color really makes it a star property in the neighborhood!

Gorgeous, Jack! The burgundy colors are a beautiful contrast against the white and black.
Beautiful landscaping! Wish the homes had more space between them.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! Can’t wait for next one. Love them!
Beautiful!
Really beautiful Jack! I expected nothing less from you but awesomeness! Hugs 🤗💞
Excellent edging!
Really great to hear your rationale for plant choices and hardscaping. Awesome job!
Sssstunning
Love what you did with the landscape. I wish you would name all the plants as you tour the property!
Will do more of that! And we plan to label them on the vids too….
I absolutely love the movement of the plants. Beautiful colors and foliage. Well done. 💚
Love the driveway gutter! We get such deluges in the summer. Great idea
Everything look great! Nice work 🙌🏻👍🏼
So pretty!

Heard you sold your business in Mackinac? Will you be full time in Florida now?
I thought he just works in Florida during the winter months
I only sold the “crew” side of things~ I am still doing all design and management of projects -

@@JackBarnwellDesign Thank you very much!
Long time no see😁
Are the plants iguana proof? I live in The Midwest but my daughter in South Florida has problems with iguanas.
What's the Latin name for the Royal palm trees? Would it be possible to plant them in big containers?
Jack, how much is this house cost?
❤️❤️❤️

I also love sweet viburnums~ and agree, but sometimes the client has particular requests that we like the respect…. It’s a balance-!
Tell your clients no lol. I will be watching out for your use of podocarpus and trinette. Thanks for the reply lol Love your work!
