- In this Minecraft Hermitcraft episode, I talk about the end of Hermitcraft Season 9, what the future of Hermitcraft season 10 looks like, and why Hermitcraft 9 was a bit different from other seasons for me. Reflecting on Hermitcraft season 9 has been really enjoyable, and despite it's challenges I am still really proud of what I have achieved.

I don't know if it just me but.. I like seeing mumbo having fun and goofing around with hermits more than him stressing about yet another megabase XD
Absolutely. The megabases are always cool but i personally definitely enjoy people like Zed, Etho, & Mumbo who don’t really care about the base building
I think he should just be a nomad next season. I wonder actually if the hermits should do a "nomad" season where they have maybe some little bases but not one giant project (unless they really want to)
Same man. It’s so much more fun to see someone genuinely just enjoying life and being themselves than it is to see them stressed doing what they feel others expect them to do
When watching Mumbo's episodes I generally skip the base building bits and just watch interactions with hermits, pranks and stuff.
I feel bad for saying it but… there was just something so magical about season 7 for me. It’s just never quite been as fun- I mean there was the dragon bros and Sahara, poultry man, the gaming center, the hippie van battle, fun shops, the hight limit battle, prank wars/ civil war…. I mean you just can’t outdo that! I hope there’ll be some more social things next season instead of too much work on the mega builds yk?
Man, so sad for Scarland. Feels like it's only halfway done. I wish they'd be able to import it to the new season 10 world.
Agreed. There's no reason they cant import it into S10, we all know how important it is to Scar. I'm sure Scar will clear things up. Scarland isn't done!
I've read somewhere that Scar plans to continue building in an offline world.

Honestly I don’t think anyone would be mad if you chose not to make a mega base for season 10 and just have fun making whatever you want and enjoying the season with the rest of the hermits

I even personally love all the in-the-middle things more, which happen aside from main mega base building
Personally, I also think the hermits often bite off more than they can chew. I'd love to see Mumbo doing something like a village or an extending base, starting with the starter base in the middle and just growing bigger and bigger. I'd really love to see that because then it would not be something that's not done, because basically you could stop anytime. Don't get me wrong, I love the big builds, but on the other hand it can get frustrating seeing so much work in front of you when you actually just wanna goof around. I pray that the hermits will more focus on that interaction than the mega bases, I'd really enjoy that.
Bases that are a perfect example for what I've got in mind are Mumbo's S2 base (the jungle village), Keralis' S7 city base or Etho's S7 inside-out base. Also iskall's cave in this season is actually a good idea because you could infinitely expand the floor plan.
All the moments with you and Grian and scar were the highlights of the season for me. Especially that cheesy reunion shot with scar flying in. Can’t wait for season 10 I know it will be amazing!

@@epicthief I love seeing the bases, they’re incredible, but I do agree that without the shenanigans the episodes would not be as popular as they are.
Small builds, like the hobbit hole and the little campsite for the prank war, are really the best kind of builds. Especially when they've got bathrooms.
They’re also so much more approachable for casual players. I love insane bases, but sometimes I want to see things I can actually build.

@@cherricake1796 Once in a blue moon he'll make a redstone video, and they always outperform his other content. But it's usually just when a new redstone feature is added, which is rare. He used to be THE redstone guy, always with some funky design. Now he vanishes for months or just muddles about in HC. Even he said it. He's spent.
Mumbo-Your season was actually really really useful to watch. We all struggle sometimes and allowing us to come on your journey of deconstruction and reconstruction was both inspirational and comforting at a time when a lot of people are evaluating their lives right alongside you. It was so much fun watching you just show up, join in and lean in to shenanigans. Thanks for Season 9! Can't wait for season 10. 😊
You were not wrong Mumbo, You were my most watched Hermit for a lot of seasons... Your absence in this season gave me the nudge I needed to watch other Hermits. I'm not saying that I'm glad that you had to go through what you did but I'm glad that it all brought us here in the present. Thank you Mumbo! I hope you can have the same mindset for the season 10 as you did in secret life, logging on for fun and not overly stressed on having content creator brain!

I actually started watching the other Hermits because of Secret Life and I wanted to see their perspectives, but didn’t feel like watching Hermitcraft Season 9 since they were all so deep into it, but I think I’ll watch many different Hermits during Season 10!

So often, we forget that Ollie exists beyond Mumbo. This season, we were reminded of Mumbo's humanity. Mumbo is legendary, and a sincere gift to the Minecraft community....no matter what.

While this hasn't been my favorite season of hermitcraft, I think it's been one of my more favorite ones for Mumbo, at least from when he came back on. For the most part, it was clear he was having fun. I don't watch for the mega bases, I don't watch for the giant projects, I watch for the hermits. And when they aren't having fun, you can feel that in their vidoes. I think we all can learn from Ollie.

No, most of his audience came here for his redstone videos, and he isn't really doing that anymore. A small portion watches Hermitcraft, but most of us just don't care about that at all. I don't watch anything he makes that isn't a redstone video. I don't care about him or his personal life, nor do most people. Telling him to do whatever is bad advice. He should make redstone videos and leave Hermitcraft. That server has drained his time and creativity, and undermined the very content he built his channel upon.

Mumbo, you're the one who got me into hermitcraft in the first place. No matter how long between episodes or what you end up doing in them, I'll always be here right away to watch. Just make season 10 as fun as it can be for you, and we'll be here for the ride

Dude I remember the S4 days, starting out with the camper van and the (definitely very handsome) base he made. I feel old now lol.
as much as hermitcraft is often said to be about the megabuilds , really , its not.
its about the pranks and the community and i think you did all of that perfectly , it doesn't matter if you never finished your base , we still had a great time watching

To quote Grian's introduction to everyone, HC is just friends playing Minecraft together. Some of the hermits love building big things, but if that's not your vibe, people shouldn't feel forced into it.
Mumbo is best just doing what makes him happy, he's a nerdy redstone goof, I don't expect him to build massive things. Just like if Skizzleman was on the server, we're here for them
On the topic of other hermits, i was introduced to Hermitcraft THROUGH your videos, i started off watching your redstone videos and then noticed your season 6 hermitcraft videos which lead me into getting very invested, eventually starting to follow Grian and Iskall and eventually the entire server, now my YT feed is 50% minecraft UA-camrs and honestly i love when ANY of the hermits upload whether its Hermitcraft or other side minecraft projects. For that, i am so grateful for your videos really getting me into the Minecraft YT community!
You brought me into Hermitcraft back in season 7 and I will forever be grateful. I’m so happy that this season I was able to watch so many of the hermits. I even started watched their twitch streams!
While it did feel odd how S8 finished so abruptly, it did bring us one of the best things in the series: Mumbo saying "moon big"
With Decked out ending and Doc doing this huuuge massive grind to quickly finish his perimiter it really felt like all the hermits were acting like it was the end of the season.
Always a bit sad to see a season end but a new season will be amazing as well :D
I will say. While decked out is a stunning amount of work. It feels weird for the last like 10 episodes of a Hermitcraft season to mainly boil down to "hey. We play a mini game in the game"
Like. I've barely paid attention to the end of hermitcraft because everyone's last few videos have just been decked out runs.
Though I do sincerely hope everyone who does like that content and the various crafters involved in hermitcraft do have fun doing it.
It's always nice to see when they're working more on how everything links together and having dumb fun together
@@dilophoraptordouble Yeah same here, decked out is fun to watch if it's like one or two runs per hermit, but when they spend a whole month on it it's really boring, hopefully there was Secret Life starting at about the same time...

Mumbo, I am so grateful for you and your channel and I want you to know that even if you never post another video again I will be grateful for everything that you did. I enjoyed watching your content beyond the megabuilds or the super redstone contraptions. I enjoyed watching them because of you. I loved your attitude, your silly fun with your friends. The way that you engaged with the other hermits. I am so glad that you were able to find yourself again and find joy in what you do because joy was always the heart of this channel. Or at least it always felt that way to me. I look forward to what you do in season 10 and beyond.
Mumbo, your a legend. Do what you want to do, whether that's continuing making hermitcraft/minecraft videos, new types of videos or quieting youtube entirely. Whatever it is, I'm positive that your audience (INCLUDING ME) will support you 100%!
I personally love the secret life series mumbo. He goes in, does something even he doesn't know why, then comes out of it laughing. I see YT videos as a journey that I tag along with someone who enjoys making it.
I found it so incredibly sweet when everyone on the server unanimously agreed to make you the richest hermit while you were gone.

I haven't watched Hermitcraft since season 8 and hearing mumbo say all these extremely relatable things is honestly really sweet. He sounds like he's trying not to get choked up and I hope it hasn't been to rough for him.
Mumbo, even if you weren't in this season much, your contributions were definitely felt. Can't wait to see what you do for Season 10, hoping it will be something to do with the Legacy of Hermitcraft like Xisuma.
Can you give an example for these contributions because I find the last 2 seasons really disappointing.

Season 8 is still my favorite. High density gameplay with hermits living side by side and a lots of interactions is more fun than long mega builds.
I enjoyed all the videos and builds you made this season. I personally don’t mind if you don’t feel like you can finish a mega base, I like watching your shenanigans and interactions and games with others and if those are the things you’d rather do then hey, I’m happy about that. Season 7 was my favorite season primarily just because I enjoyed watching all the fun games and shenanigans you all got up to, especially in the shopping district. Like I loved your interactions with friends with the hermit challenges, 12 bamboo, pacific, selling your bits, the hobbits, etc. Also your role in the buttercups was hysterical.
I’m sure it must’ve been tough rejoining mid season, etho also did that, but I was glad you rejoined and enjoyed seeing you and etho go at your own pace.

I don't know why but season 8 feels like it had an end, whereas this season has been abruptly cut with many projects not getting finished. I hope that scar, doc and grian will be able to finish their bases before the end of the season.
At the end of season 8, you could feel that it was rushed. The Hermits were forced to quickly complete their projects before the end of the season.
But the end of season 9 is a real surprise. Never before has a season ended so suddenly with so many projects unfinished.
I mean it was made quite clear multiple times by a lot of Hermits like X that it would end after Decked Out
@@frankgrimes7388 I'm not sure, usually before season ends most of the hermits ends their series earlier so you can know that the entire season is going to end.
Season 8 was different in that manner but still you got the feeling that it is going to end.
And now season 9 ends quite suddenly with only few hermits who somewhat finished all their projects (but didn't officially ended their series). Only thing that justifies that ending is the fact that most of the hermits wasn't really into hermitcraft this season.
@@rafal.qwerty Personal guess might just be that some people were getting bored and old hermits wanted to get back into things. Also this season lasted well over a year whereas the last one lasted around a year (which is quite short for a hermitcraft season)

It's incredible how long this season was, and how incomplete it still felt.
yea, especially because a few people took time off simultaneously. So the whole season felt like a mess, albeit a fun one.
The majority of hermits didn’t post nearly as much this season as they did in previous seasons. That’s why it felt so incomplete.
Not many episodes from the creators that I've been watching for years, so it didn't feel like much of a season honestly. Grian did episodes periodically, Iskall pretty much non existent, and mumbo a treat once in a while. I do miss the days of weekly episodes but I understand that now they can afford to do whatever makes them happy in life after COVID even if it isn't hermitcraft videos.
Yeah that’s the odd thing. This also seemed to end abruptly, with secret life basically removing half of the hermits from the server for the end of the server. I feel bad for decked out too, because it seemed to be overrun by secret life.
A lot of the Hermits didn't upload much. Like. Some have 10 episodes, max. Mumbo took his huge break for his mental health (which was good for him, of course, but still added to the incomplete feeling). Hermitcraft has changed a lot in the past few seasons, and it feels like they're still finding the groove of how long they need to be and how much they are able to do.
We love you Mumbo! You do amazing work and I am excited that you chose to keep motivated about Hermitcraft! I actually really loved every time you worked on your base and every time you deconstructed! You are brave enough to disagree with yourself and that is how we all improve. I don't think you should take it personally about the ratings bc that is just YT algorithms. We were all eagerly awaiting your return not because we wanted you to feel pressured, but because we hoped you still had passion and creativity for our hobby of Minecraft! I hope you see this bc I just got the signed CREO card in the mail and it melted my heart watching this video!
Mumbo, your videos at the beginning of season 8 are what introduced me to your content, Hermitcraft, and the rest of the Hermits. I personally loved season 8 and how it ended (as well as season 9), so it’s sad to hear about other fans who vocalized their dislike of it. I was extraordinarily excited when I saw that you had returned to Season 9 and the Buttercup arc was amazing. I am very glad and grateful that you have returned to making content on UA-cam, and it’s awesome that you’re going to focus on making content that excites you first and foremost. Can’t wait to see your plans for season 10 and have a restful break between seasons!
The notion of Season 8 being a prologue of Season 9 was basically accepted community-wide. Seemed like a lot of fans really liked the things that happened in 8 that they didn't want it to end so soon. Glad Season 9 was INCREDIBLY jam-packed with stuff that has never been done before. The Empires collab and Tango's Decked Out were the best things I've seen happen in SMP history.

Honestly the best part about hermitcraft isn’t the builds it’s the collabs and interactions with the other members. Seeing how all the hermits bounce off each other is amazing and always entertaining
The joy in watching videos does come in part from the joy of the creator of those videos. No one blames you for having a "rough" season, you just do what makes you happy.

I started watching Hermitcraft right after the beginning of season 8, when one of my friends got me back into Minecraft after having not touched the game since Beta. They linked to one of your redstone videos (which still seems like black magic to me) and then as the season started we both started watching along as you posted new content. From there I've gone on to watch other hermits and found that I love them all. So, I suppose I should just say, do what you want to do and don't feel obligated, burnout is a real thing. But no matter what, thank you for being my gateway into a side of youtube and content creation that I had completely ignored and have a happy holiday season. I'll keep watching so long as the algorithm doesn't stop me.

Decked out felt like that last "Huge" project for the Season although the boat racing could be an interesting diversion.
@highrofellos6721 Fair point: When the world download comes out, you can try out the boat racing. Remember, though, the main reason (I believe) that didn't become big is because it's a fairly old game

Ive been wayching hermit craft since around season 3 or 4 and was a little off and on. But i honestly think season 9 played out so so well, and things just seemed to click together, almost like it was fully planned! To the diamond tower wars wrecking the economy, to mumbo taking a big break and so happen to come back after the rendog reign and somehow being the richest hermit after saying he will and dipping. It was so perfect and it is honestly my favorite season so far. Yeah mumbo not being around kinda was a damper, but added so much more to the lore and like i said about him being rhe richest. It just worked out. Bravo hermits! And bravo the underlining path of fate/destiny it followed!
Mumbo I'm just glad that you're feeling in a better headspace. during your hiatus I missed your videos but I was also genuinely happy to see you taking a break and relaxing away from the youtube stress. to me, videos are good when I can tell that the person making them is having fun. and since your return I've definitely noticed an uptick in your funergy (fun energy) lol. I've watched you since season 5 and I definitely have started watching Many other hermits since then-- I'm pretty sure I've watched at least one episode by every active hermit !! but you are and always will be one of my favorites. honestly I've noticed a huge increase in the quality of the videos you make after you "retired". Doing what you want to rather than what youtube wants you to is always going to lead to a better result.

What you said at the end is so true for my case... I started this journey with your videos. Then I watched you play Last Life, which got me to follow Grian through the rest of the Life series and eventually here, to Hermitcraft. Theres so many amazing creations and people in the Life Series, Hermitcraft, and even QSMP I would never have discovered if not for your channel. I look forward for whatever comes next and don't forget to have fun!!!
This was my first season of Hermitcraft ever and I was thoroughly entertained/blown away by every build I saw! I just found out the other Hermitcrafters have videos like 20 minutes ago and now I’m going to check them out as well! Your Hermitcraft season 9 was the perfect introduction to the series!
Season 9 was such a long and eventful season that it feels weird that it’s ending! As for you Mumbo, I hope that for Season 10 you can just take it easy and do what you think is fun! We’ll be here to support you no matter what!
Mumbo I think you’d enjoy building a mechanical contraption type mega base. Don’t worry about the build, just have an omega storage system, then a ton of omega farms. Less pressure to do things like building which causes burnout, and more freedom to do what you really want

Totally agreed! Like, it's difficult not to feel pressured when there are so many great builders to not have your base up to those standards. But he should focus on what he likes the most. Not to say he can't build goodlooking stuff, mumbo has improved tremendously on that department, just that if he doesn't, I'm sure everyone would love it regardless haha

No what you should do is tell grian that your moving in - you'll build the restone for him and the back of his base, and he builds the rest of the base :P

I started watching hermitcraft because your videos came up for me one day and i will say its been a joy. I've followed and watched so many talented people these past 2 years. Its amazing to see all of you have fun and create content for the world. I'm sure I'll still be here no matter what way you decide to continue to make content!

I don't think there's anything wrong with how you approached your videos. I actually enjoyed it. You gave a glimpse into the hard bits of the creative process and life in general that a lot of us can relate to. I'm really excited to see what you do next
This 100%. I loved following his journey AND the love and acceptance of both his fan base and the cocreators on the HC server itself. This heartwarming example of supportive patience and love stands in stark contrast to the vast majority of the internet. It gives the rest of us permission to do it ourselves.

I hadn't watched a Minecraft video in years (think Mindcrack days) until I found your redstone videos and then your Hermitcraft ones during season 7. You reignited a spark for my love of the game and the sense of community that it can build. Whenever I pull up UA-cam and see that you posted a video, its always the first one I watch, because I love yours the most, even if it is just a simple episode concept that day.
It's been inspiring, watching you take the time you needed for yourself and those you care about, and I couldnt be happier to be one of your subscribers!

Followed Mumbo first through your redstone videos on Facebook. I was faintly aware of Hermitcraft before but along the time of your return was when I first started watching and finding others perspectives as well on the server. All very nicely done and enjoyed thoroughly. Go go season 10!

Orange heart: related to the love that can exist between two friends.
Yellow heart: a pure and sincere love linked to friendship.
Green heart: related to health, hope and nature.
Blue heart: signifies trust and security.
Purple heart: they link it with forbidden love or that which is forbidden, especially it is intended for lovers.
Black heart: they associate it with black humor and for some, it represents sadness and pain.
White heart: it is used for love and affection between people, also to express condolences.

I'm glad to hear that we're not loosing you Mumbo, but I'm also glad to hear you took to the time to make sure this is what you want to keep doing. Honestly, for me, the building is cool.. but The thing I enjoy the most about Hermitcraft is the moments where you guys are getting up to shenanigan's, Secret Fools, The Easter Egg Hunt, The Diamond Tower Race.. The various prank wars, and "Civil wars".
I think that is one of the reasons why I have liked the Life Series so much.. Its just a bunch of you guys goofing off and having fun as friends
You were missed so much, but I agree with you that people were able to discover other hermits' content that they might not have otherwise. I was able to discover Doc's videos towards the beginning of season 9 which I don't know if I would have done if I had your content to watch too and I'm so grateful because his videos are a highlight of my week now! Also so glad that you were able to take the break you needed. Looking forward to your content however it may be in the future!

Gotta say despite the hiccups I think this is one of my favorite seasons from the hermits right up there with 6 and 7
It was literally the worst season ever (and I've watched them all). The only redeemable parts of the season was the mini-games and the early season holiday events!

You got me interested in Minecraft in 2019 and got me through tough times with your light and your spirit. I'm glad you did what you did and you took the breaks and time for yourself because you deserve it. You are such a bright light to everyone here and especially to me. I'm so excited for the next season and so happy you are taking care of yourself and enjoying the little moments.
When you were talking about your struggles and mind shifts over this season, I started picturing my own content. I started a lot of projects, some with friends and some alone but I was always trapped on "I need to do this" instead of "I want to do this". This led me to never have much passion for my own content and getting constant need for breaks. Maybe I need to be real with myself just like you were, and start doing what I want to do with my content instead of worrying about anything else.

I have mixed feelings about the season ending right now. On the one hand, a lot of Hermits have finished their big projects or reached a point where they no longer feel motivated to work on them, and between Decked Out and Secret Life there's been a lot less of the traditional Hermitcraft stuff, and a bunch of hermits have been definitely feeling the burnout (which seems to be a thing going on in the larger content creator sphere rn). But on the other hand I do feel a bit sad about people like Scar and Doc who are working on massive projects that they're not finished with and seem really excited to be working on, with tons of cool ideas and they know exactly what they plan on doing next, which now will never get to be finished.
A lot of Hermits I feel like have been pretty much finished with season 9 before Decked Out 2 even started, I remember being worried that it wouldn't get finished in time. DO2 breathed some second wind into the season and it being spread out in phases over like two months has been a godsend for Doc and Scar, who have just planned so much bigger than the other Hermits.
I know that Decked Out would be the finale of the season and both would end together.
@@LRM12o8 I got that feeling too, poor Tango had to really rush at the end, he was panicky at best.
Honestly I knew pretty early on Doc wasn't going to end up doing much with his perimeter and when he started making several farms outside of it I knew it was the death nail for that project.
@@Koppu1doragon First of all, do you mean Doc? Because Scar would never have been doing much with The Perimeter. Would have been weird if he did, honestly.
Second, do you know what The Perimeter is for? It's not an empty space for him to build in, it's an empty space where things can't spawn, forcing mob farming to work really well. The lack of blocks means the game finds spawning locations in the farms that much faster. It was never intended to be a place he built any farm that wasn't a mob farm. It wasn't an industrial district type of thing.
Third, Doc has put in an unreal amount of work building detailed murals. He's probably put in more decorative work this season than every previous one he's been in combined.
To be honest, I haven't had a hermitcraft season hit the same since season 6, seven was still great, but around 8 I was kinda done, not sure what that caused might be a me thing TBD.
my most favorite thing from hermitcraft is the community and the interactions between hermits: the pranks, the jokes, the minigames, etc. Just keep doing what makes you happy and we will follow you anyway!
Mumbo, You are the reason I got into Minecraft. Your Redstone vs Building colab with Grian was how I knew about him. I remember jumping from my seat when he showed up at Season 6. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have even heard of the other hermits. I’m am now as old as you are when you first started doing UA-cam. You have brought me so much joy throughout the years.
Mumbo we are incredibly proud of you for being able to take a break and not pushing yourself to make videos even though it would have affected your mental health. This was an amazing series and I hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did ❤

in my eyes you did end it all neatly! you showed us some of your favourite parts, explained your thought processes and honestly i think we're all happy with whatever you make as long as you enjoy it!! i found hermitcraft when your s7 episode appeared in my recommended and after (deciding to "do my homework" by watching s6 first ?) i was hooked!! and i was so happy that through your channel i eventually found a whole group of amazing people's videos to watch!! i am not kidding you when i say hermitcraft got me into university. hermitcraft lead me to meeting wonderful friends. man im kinda just glad youre still enjoying it 👍 and if that looks different to other youtubers on the platform thats pretty epic. cool even. dare i say it nice

Awh, I got a bit emotional watching this! Thank you Mumbo, for doing everything you do for your audience, but also for simply being you and taking the time you need for yourself as well. Yes it's been a bit of a messy season, but it was a blast through and through, and we wouldn't have it any other way. The content means nothing without you enjoying making it. I'm glad you took the time you need to figure out the direction you're going, and I can't wait to see what season 10 has in store!
the single best way i ever heard hermitcraft described was by joehills on a stream, paraphrase:
'a collection of artists squatting a warehouse creating whatever they want, and abandoning it for the next project'
it isn't a content mill, and it isn't optimizable. what hermitcraft creates is a collaborative art form with a minecraft medium, and it sounds like you are in the perfect place for that.

Wow, I’m surprised Hermitcraft season 9 is ending already. I thought it would’ve lasted for 100 weeks. I really enjoyed the hysterical prank war with the Buttercups vs the GOAT, seeing Etho & Ren build the ice boat race track Blue River Raceways and all the other shenanigans this season. The prank war was my favorite moment from this season though.
You and Grian are usually the only hermits I watch. I’m pretty much always entertained by your videos, regardless of what you’re making. Your core fanbase will always be here for you and your content, wherever that content takes you.
You and Grian's tutorials Is how I wound up watching Hermitcraft and thus discovered Pearl, Bdubs and Scar. There are a few Hermits I'm not so keen on but you five are very enjoyable to watch. I hope you get your mojo back mate.
Season 9 has been my favourite season so far - I think everyone really came into their own, and the chaos of it all is what really made this season special. Honestly, I think the player interactions were a huge highlight. The builds are, as always, incredible - Decked Out 2 and Scarland are two of the most ambitious, artistic creations I've ever seen -, but watching everyone interact was such a treasure.
I really missed you while you were away, but obviously, trying to force content out when you're not feeling it is pointless - you can't rush creativity. Taking breaks is necessary, and it's wonderful that you could take time off and see the world. Being an online figure is demanding. More people should take breaks.
You mentioned that you felt out of place upon returning to the server, and while I totally get that, I'd like to just say that your episodes brought a new sort of side to Hermitcraft. Even to people like me, who watched the whole season through various other Hermits' perspectives, it was fascinating to watch you get to explore this world that's been built through the past year. It made it more...I don't know exactly how to phrase it, but it felt more alive, somehow. It allowed the viewers to explore the server with you, and see some of the incredible creations that they might have missed. It was fun, is what I'm getting at. From watching your base-building process (and all of the explosive side adventures that came out of it), to the chaos of The Button, to the shenanigans you and the Buttercups got up to, you really left your mark on Season 9 in all the best ways. I can't wait to see what comes next.

My favorite videos of yours are the ones where you are very clearly having a great time. It's cool to see the massive builds and the ingenious inventions, but a lot of the best moments (for me) are the cheeky jokes, the fun interactions / banter / pranks with others, and the times where you let us in on what you're thinking / how you're doing.
No matter which route you go in S10 (and other future projects), I'll be eagerly waiting to see how it all unfolds. 💙

Honestly even if you feel this season wasn’t as complete, I’m glad you took the time to step away and just take a break, sort everything out. I love HC, but it’s only fun when the creators are having fun too, so I’d rather someone take time off and come back bursting with motivation to do what excites them, be it hanging out only doing silly things with friends or base building.
I hope your Season 10 will go great, and can’t wait to be there for when it launches!
I came to Hermitcraft around the middle of Season 9 through watching your Redstone tutorials, and from you I found Scar, Grian, Ren, Doc, Gem, Pearl, Xisuma, Pixlriffs, and more... so thanks for being my gateway drug into all sorts of awesome storytellers and builders! I'll be watching whether you do Hermitcraft or weird Redstone builds, or whatever.
I started watching hermitcraft for the first time during season 9 because of your videos, this season was great and whatever videos you make so many of us will watch and enjoy them

I’ll admit that what got me hooked into HC was the incredible builds made in survival (I didn’t know it was possible!), but what made me stay was you and other Hermits’ lovely personalities! I really feel like you could make nearly anything enjoyable to watch because of that :)

honestly, my favourite part of hermitcraft itsnt the amazing builds or projects, but the silly and fun shenanigans that come when creatives bounce off each other. I’d much rather watch you have fun than slave over something you aren’t inspired by. When you’re having fun, I’m having fun watching.
