I😮 have Jcw Brembros with Mintex M115 track pads and mintex cryogenic treated discs which super hardens them reducing warping unlike alot of other discs I have had. But alot was down to the R53 not having any brake cooling. I have not installed a brake kit I would recommend looking at JDH Customs. Been tracking my R53 for 12 years so hit me up if you have any questions. Luv the build 👍
Appreciate the advice! I will do some research, 12 years fair play! Know your stuff then haha, I was looking at that cooling kit actually! Got tik tok or insta incase I do have questions? Thanks fella 🤙
If you really want to go big brake kit, then it is AP, AP or AP. Anything far eastern made, like KSport, and anything far Western made, like Wilwood, are just awful. Really awful. But... You really won't need a big brake kit. And that's coming from someone who's always had AP's or Alcons on his cars since 2000. Get the MINI down to 1100kg or less, fit R56 calipers up front with Nitrac discs and Carbotech pads all round and you'll have more than ample stopping along with a nice pedal feel and modulation still. That, and the JDH brake ducts as have already been suggested will work amazingly. I've run mine in 38 degrees all day and not had any issues. And I'd definitely go for 16s not 17s...
I can figure out how to install the thermostat. Like what hose goes to the top connection and what hose goes to the below connection. Coming from the airtec plate. Does it really matter. Do you have tips?
The ones connected to the oil cooler originally? Should be a u shape coolant pipe in your kit just jubilee clip it on and it flows back on its self, if your missing this then cut up one of the pipes you took off but use jubilee clips, hope that helps!
Sorry my thumbnails are a mix of ai images and manual editing, however they are similar to some on wheelbase website there called '356Wheels TFS3 Silver' hope that helps
@@Kirkham66 i’ve just tagged you on insta of mine with 17s…. Could prob go to a 16inch wheel if you wanted maybe. I THINK the 330s are an easier size to get hold of replacement discs (not to sure sorry) Also, have you thought about Meganne callipers?
Love the look of the interior colour combo, that oil cooler looks great
Thank you my brother, your first vid is doing great too! Guys give this chap a follow! 🤙

Oil cooler looks really good. I've got the Airtec intercooler and air intake so might as well get their oil cooler as well
Yer I will do the same and get the airbox soon haha 🤙
I was giggling before you even said it

Solid advice thank you! I'll have more of a think then and 16's is a good shout actually, thanks! 🤙
If you have pedal feel issues get a properly sized master cylinder for r56 front pots.
I'll look into it, thanks mate 👍

Doesn't matter to much but ideally 45 runs on the bottom and to the nearest/shortest of the bottom of oil cooler, hope that helps mate 👍
What do you do with the coolant hoses?
Coolant hose? Nothing just work around them bud 👍
What happens with the other metal coolant hose as in the video it just hangs there with open ends ??

is the body kit on the thumb nail a render or is it real ?
It's a render I'm afraid 😁
Is that going to be a hassle to remove when you have to put the car in service mode?
You can just undo the lines to the cooler, but yes it's another obstacle in the way
What wheels are those in the thumbnail of the video?

Ap all the way
🤙
I have the 304 kit with Reyland 2 piece disc paired with Mintex race pads, absolutely brilliant and work really well on the Nurgburgring 👍🏻
@ReuCollinson yer I was looking at that on demontweeks, I wanted 330mm tho to fill the 17" wheels but it's an extra £400 just for an extra few mm
