@@kurdtjohn it was re-recorded at least once and released as part of a live album, an MTV project I think back in the day. The live stuff wasn't as good.
@@johnroscoe2406 yes, as part of MTV Unplugged 2.0, which they later released as a live album. I was referring to an actual studio re-recording, which I don’t know if he did.
Also: So many misheard lyrics in this back when I was 15: “But you’re plastic just like anyone, just like everyone” / “But man, will they buy all your lies” / “So get out your fake eyelashes, and fake ideas, and real disasters, in tune”. And probably more I even forgot, lol. Although hey, that’s part of the fun in a way, eh? Though I think this version is perfect, the way the guitar chimes, I would’ve loved to hear this done full-band on “Summer’s Kiss” EP over, say, “Turpentine Chaser”. “Ender” turned out brilliant, possibly better than the original, and I think the structure of this song could benefit in the same way…plus I think “Turpentine” is one of their weakest songs, lol. “Living In Your Letters” could’ve been swapped, too, actually, but the other two work excellently. And they didn’t overdo shit as a ‘band’ the way they would later, they kept that raw soul in there. Even “Hands Down” I felt burned out a lot of the magic of the EP…the title track to it was always my favorite anyway though, lol
This era of DC songs helped me through so many tough times as a teenager. I used to do covers of them at highschool coffee house / talent shows. ♥
And damn do we grow up fast. 🥲
This band got me through a dark time in my life.
I missed this
best band ever!
Listening to this song so many years later is funny because I haven’t aged a day and still look 15.
Yeah me too, although I turn 47 this month 😋
2:20. Heks yes.
But id like to see you undoneeee
Oh man… this album saved my life
Nostalgic
this is my favorite DC song
This and Saints n Sailors 🤙
A Swiss Army Knife is a lot like a pod of dolphins...
Multi-porpoise!
I hope your dad jokes have developed since...
Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
😂😂😂😂 *slow clap*
I loved it
Great song !
Here trying to find the set list cuz my emo teen dreams are coming true next month, I'm going to sob through the show of happiness, hahahaha. xo
I love you.

This was the original version. I don’t know if Chris ever re-recorded this song.

@@kurdtjohn I think a re-recording made it on to The Places You Have Come to Fear The Most as well though I'm too lazy to doublecheck right now.
Demasiado buena.
You make me so sad Chris; thank you ❤️

It’s cool to fake romances
And grow up fast, and grow up fast
And grow up fast
And grow up fast.
I appreciate studio versions so I can hear the lyrics without a freaking hundred fold sing along anytime they perform live.

"Sleep with all the sheets off, bearing your mattress--bearing your soul." Seriously? One of the laziest metaphors ever.
