1:07:40 Fun fact: in the prequel, Tifa Lockhart has the unique ability to feint- to start an attack and press X to dodge cancel or restart the attack to mess with the opponent’s dodge/block timing.
Opera Omnia was a fantastic gachca game I should have given more of my time to! Super F2P friendly, characters were tied to weapons so it wasn't as difficult to get your favorite characters and they did tons with the massive roster like unique team attacks with character combos from across the franchise!
I downloaded it a couple of times and never really got past the starting stages, in hindsight it is really the best series fo a gatcha game. I did play a lot of Brave Exidus ~sondi
I've played so much of Duodecim that I'm not 100% if some of this was added in there, but a lot of characters' kits don't get unlocked until there around Lvl 60ish AND have some of their original moves mastered to unlock other ones. A few examples: Onion Knight is all about branching attacks that unlock by mastering his usual brave attacks. He gets both brave and HP attacks that directly combo off of other brave attacks. Terra kinda wants you to be in EX mode a lot. If you hold the jump button while in it she can freely glide around. She also gets double cast while in it, so she uses all of her HP attacks twice back to back. Tidus is all about mobility. Most of his attacks move him significantly. Like I've had the AI use on of his HP attacks to dodge one of my attacks. Gabranth is a really special case where he HAS to be in EX mode to be remotely usable. He can't do HP damage outside of it and his combos greatly extend while in it. Duodecim is entirely an upgrade though. They have an assist character system, a new use for the EX Gauge called EX Revenge (it can break you out of attacks and almost freeze your opponent in place at the expense of your whole EX Gauge), 9 new characters, and the entire story from the first game in it after you finish its story.
I didn't know about the assist system, but I did know about the remastered story. Most of what you said about character's kits are pretty much the same in the first game. I'm really excited to dive into Duodecim i've only heard postiive things about that title -sondi
You can spend pee pee!? thats a weird currency! It's mad how many anime games are still arena fighters, after seeing how Dragon ball Fighterz, you think they would try something a little different. I would have been worried if sondi never played with a toy. I need to get back to starting my way through Final Fantasy seris. I've only beat 15. The destrucable enviroments are pretty neat. PSP does have bangers! Nah Bendez, you could go back and play Shadow of the Colossus, it holds up well, i really enjoyed playing it for the first time last year! Sounds like theres a good base of a game there but needs just polish, guess im getting Dissidia for PSP if i see it going somewhere cheap! Hooray, i'm one of those 3 people who comment!
Interesting game. A fighting game with RPG elements actually sounds like a balancing nightmare but I'd like to try this out myself to see how it plays. Here's a question for you guys that I was actually wondering about earlier and seems relevant to this video. Why do you think there are so few fg spinoffs of RPG games considering how ripe most of them are to be converted? Combat elements are there, settings, character designs etc. The only notable ones I can think of off the top of my head are Pokken Tournament and Persona 4 Arena.
Thats a good question, I think it might be about audiences. Generally speaking RPG audiences aren't as into fighting games. They might have data that shows their return on investment isnt high. Square specifically has dabbled into fighting games like erghiez. and even the trails of series had a arena battler on the PSP. but idk it might not be worth it to them. - Bendez
One of the three chiming in. Normally, I'd be surprised by the more 'meh' tone, but I get it. I was excited to dive into Dissidia again, but it didn't have the same hook it did as a kid. A lot of the rpg stuff and the board mechanics that used to be cool are now just annoying hurdles. I also think the story suffers from being done a million times since. We're not too far from MCU fatigue, and it feels like every piece of media is filled with crossovers and collabs. Dissidia is still cool, but it feels extra worn out in this particular era of collabs. I bet it, or 012, ironically will hit good again after MORE time has passed. Btw, I caught that early fanservice Cloud of Darkness but wiggle. ;)

CINEMA!! One of my all time favorite PSP titles!
have you played it in recent years? Hope you enjoy the episode! - Bendez

5:40 I hate that you didn’t finish the track. Why let it play up until that point and raise volume if you were gonna cut it off at the best part?…
