More than 30 years ago I installed 32/36 DGV Webers and a header on my '73 240. I lifted the head off along with all the stock intake and exhaust pieces, mounted the new stuff and lowered the head back in place (lapped the valves and cleaned up the ports while it was off). I just finished rebuilding the Webers and replacing the rusted out header with the head in place. So I thank you for sparing us watching you do those other manifold nuts. A couple I could only get to with an open end wrench and then only 1/4 turn at a time.
Haha, no problem. It seriously took me over an hour just to do those bolts, it was a giant nightmare. The wrapped headers didn't help the situation. I just hope I don't have to remove them anytime soon.
I like it! Very clean intake setup. It'll make a difference if you have to troubleshoot a wonky connection or a leak someplace.
Thanks! I worked hard on it. I honestly would have kept it all stock if I could. Working EGR component on these are hard to find these days.
Thanks for the video man. I love your stuff. Had 2 questions. You didn't show in the video putting the valve cover breather hose on to the 3 way connector. Did you put a flame arrestor in yours? Second question is what did you use to plug the bottom side of the EGR valve with your delete?
Found it! ua-cam.com/video/qugFem_paKw/v-deo.html
@@jnieman awesome. You're the man.
Nice video, very informative! Helping me a lot actually. Mind if I ask what size bolt did you use to plug up the AC vacuum?
I’m working on my intake too. What thread size was the ac vacuum plug?
I'm trying to pick out vacuum hose and thought you might have opinions:
1. Do you still wish you had picked the black vacuum line? The blue looks kinda cool!
2. Same question as Justyn Brownrigde, did you put in a flame arrestor?
3. If so, do you know if this tube you used is conductive (for static)?
Ah ha! Anyone stumbling upon this in the future: Episode 27, Min does keep the flame arrestor in the elbow!

The air regulator there at 1:42 is one of the only engine parts we can't get anymore. They were $160 like five years ago and I laughed at the price for such a simple part. Well now I know why, they've been unavailable for years. I wish some aftermarket parts company would start selling them new or rebuilt for a reasonable price. I'm sure there'd be demand for it. I took mine off and tried to clean it with some manual manipulation and WD-40. It worked better after putting it back on. I am at least getting 1100 RPM cold idles instead of what it did before which was basically nothing. I suppose a new one might give even higher cold idles but I can't be sure. Of course I have my idle dialed in for a hot idle of 800 RPM.
Are you going to use NGK plugs and wires? Curious what plugs you're going to run. Great work on the car once again, and thanks again for the videos.
Yeap, I'm using NGK plugs, B6ES-11's. That's a really good question though, because I remember researching for a while what NGK plugs the 280Z crowd was running, but the community seemed a bit divided. I don't recall specifically why I chose the B6ES-11. Maybe I'll research again and make a video about it.
Haha, I have an extra air regulator from when I picked up the entire engine assembly for $150. If someone is willing to pay for the AR for $160, that'd be pretty sweet.
First!! As always can't wait for the next one.
+visualideas Thanks! I actually got it back running this weekend! Will share that soon.
