I can not for the life of me understand why Pat herself wears little to no makeup when she makes some of the best eye palettes and lipsticks out there.
Very common for professionals in creative industries. Chefs heat up frozen meals at home, fashion designers wear black pants and black t-shirts, hair and makeup people generally keep it simple and clean. She probably is wearing makeup though, she just knows how to make it look like she's got nothing at all.
As a professional MUA myself, we usually keep it simple on ourselves. Reasons vary but usually it’s because we’re around makeup so often, that we honestly can’t be bothered to put on a full glam look on ourselves. We love what we do, but it can be too much sometimes. Lol Plus when we’re getting ready for work, we keep it simple for times sake.
It's common sense: she doesn't want to focus our attention to her. I myself, when filming something, pay attention to clothes not to be very colorful, makeup to be minimal, no jewelry, natural hair. Otherwise, the message gets lost.
Probably the same reason Steve Jobs always wears a turtle neck. Busy professionals try to eliminate unnecessary choice-making in their day to day life to have more time to run their business. If she needs to think about what makeup she wants to have everyday, it would probably be a waste of time.
Even though this is old, what I like is to see on easily Pat McGrath creates a look. And the choice and order of how she applies the eye makeup explains her own line that she came out with later and that is now and likely will become 'iconic".
she's so great, I would cry if I met her. I just recently began looking up videos and articles on her, in very intrigued, and I also love her cosmetics , her shadows are so gorgeous and pigmented
Stam... So unique but also classically beautiful at the same time. One of the most memorable faces ever seen in the modeling industry. Pat is a master and I love this look.
StrawberryNinja Nibbles It makes a difference. We need more global success from our community. We have such amazingly great talent and skill, but we don’t get enough of the spotlight.
Actually her makeup is way stronger-heavier than Way's was, but Dick Page is very similar in applications to Way. Way was a huge influence on me when starting out in the biz!
I mean't the foundation, and yea, it's a stronger look than Way. He would put a drop of moisturizer, 2 or 3 drops of foundation and use practically nothing on the models skin. Pat's is flawless, just a heavier application, overall. But I love.
Pat mcgrath is my favorite makeup artist because her looks are easy and look good on everyone wich is a breather because nowadays the makeup "artist" out there think they are very talented and only do looks fit for a clown
What I actually realized that no matter how shitty the product or item is, it all boils down on how you apply them. I've seen pageant backstage moments wherein makeup artists use cheap eyeshadows but the way they apply them is different from what we usually see in tutorials. Expensive and hype products are trash if you dont know how to manipulate them.
Drawing on a face seems like a lot more fun than drawing on a piece of paper. Had to mention it. Jessica, pure perfection. Love to do your make up one day. I'll let you cut my hair. Alright then.
professional makeup artist (not beauty gurus ) usually use their fingers as it warms up the protuct and provides a seamless application . Pat said she prefers her fingers even for shadows, it really buff the product iinto the skin
Sponges like BB.. sucks in products... I dont understand the hype at all. . Pros always use either fingers or brush.. sponge only if they feel there's too much products on skin and they want to lift products up
Lol.. if you do it right u gotta do the ears and neck. Some ppl have discoloration on the neck and some have rosier ears. But this a normal make up rule.
Hmm.. there's alot of MUA working today that are really good as well.. this was just a classic simple smokey eye anybody can do.. Wayne goss provides really good tips n techniques. Lisa eldrige.. mary greenwall.. patrick ta.. jordan liberty and recently I've found Hindash.. he has his own channel here.. his modern cleopatra look is stunning
Tiger Rose I always thought she was a woman of color because she favor intense color. But, I didn't know she was so dark. Now, that explains everything.
great pat, now please do that on a real woman face and not a kid with baby skin, just try, a 40 or 50 year old, the ones who REALLy buy your products and use them every day
It drives me BONKERS that fashion houses do THREE bizarre things: They 🤔 don’t modernise a Look for bald-headed women (you want us buying from YOU, or blowing money on shitty, miserably itchy wigs & wig maintenance❓ & They don’t feature 🤔 regular Look updates off their palette 🎨 offerings for 👁 eye cosmetics BY EYE COLOUR 👁 🤔 looks for eyes THAT OPTIMISE THE BRANDED EYEWEAR THEY SELL 👓 it would seem perfectly REASONABLE, but nobody DOES it
+uknowsalome1 she did not stick hrr finger in anyones mouth.. she thinks that make up looks its best applied with fingers .and btw she is an extremly succesful MUA. tbh it takes real streght to be touchin some strangers face. #germofobicissues
This woman could use water color paint and still nail it. It’s the artist not the tool. Love love love her
I can not for the life of me understand why Pat herself wears little to no makeup when she makes some of the best eye palettes and lipsticks out there.
I think she enjoys having other people be her canvas a lot more

Am I the only one who's pissed that they showed the back of the model's head half of the time? SHOW ME THE FRIGGIN MAKEUP APPLICATION
artplosion thanks for saving me a view.
I thought the same thing
The actual application probably sucked with those products. Pat had to use her magical skills and really work to create that look
She never really shows how she does it lol.
Yeah. And also that fact that the lighting is so weird and the foundation literally disappears into the models face with computer editing.
pat is a legend. jessica is a goddess. still agree how the camera angle was shit though, aha. :/
pat is so beautiful, i think she is just everything.
RIGHT!??!?! Goddess of the makeup industry and she looks flawless with just a base application!
Genius. Smoked out an eye perfectly with just a pencil. That is SKILL.
Even though this is old, what I like is to see on easily Pat McGrath creates a look. And the choice and order of how she applies the eye makeup explains her own line that she came out with later and that is now and likely will become 'iconic".

Pat McGrath is amazing. Hands down.
Possibly this is the cutest and most sparkly model I've ever seen a tutorial done on. What a find! Just gorgeous...
+Prism Studio Jessica stam's eyes are amazing!
pats hand is magic
With such a team, you can base a look on the use of clay. Simply fantastic!
Stam... So unique but also classically beautiful at the same time. One of the most memorable faces ever seen in the modeling industry. Pat is a master and I love this look.
I love how she uses her hands to apply foundation! It’s obvious we just all buy into consumerism, we don’t need beauty blenders etc
The original and legendary pat McGrath ❤❤
Pat makes me want to buy cover girl products.... Which is probably my least favorite drugstore brand for makeup lol
hmm mine too.. but she herself created it..
+shreelaxmi1000 what do u mean by "she created it"?
She consulted for them.
Pat is amazing!
I love Pat & Jessica Stam! 🖤✨
Natural and with makeup she is beautiful.pat is a genius!
Wow i didnt know she was a WOC. I love seeing successful women especially WOC.
Momi's Beautyland shouldn’t make a difference
I didn't know she was British ,I thought she was American ..I am truly impressed since I discovered her on IG ,true artist .
StrawberryNinja Nibbles but it does as there are not enough ethnic minorities in this field
StrawberryNinja Nibbles It makes a difference. We need more global success from our community. We have such amazingly great talent and skill, but we don’t get enough of the spotlight.
@spooky katt I'm not comprehending this correction?? She said she was British...she didn't confuse anything.
the best thing about Pat is she makes the model feel comfortable and happy
I love pat
Gorgeous model
Jessica Stam is simply gorgeous
Wow a makeup artist is the vein of Way Bandy, no pounds of makeup, no dirty faces with too much contour, no insane eyebrows...I am impressed.
Actually her makeup is way stronger-heavier than Way's was, but Dick Page is very similar in applications to Way. Way was a huge influence on me when starting out in the biz!
John Wright could that be she had to use cover girl almost no pigment eyeshadow so she uses a pencil to make the eyes pop?
I mean't the foundation, and yea, it's a stronger look than Way. He would put a drop of moisturizer, 2 or 3 drops of foundation and use practically nothing on the models skin. Pat's is flawless, just a heavier application, overall. But I love.
Way Bandy is my idol!
Pat mcgrath is my favorite makeup artist because her looks are easy and look good on everyone wich is a breather because nowadays the makeup "artist" out there think they are very talented and only do looks fit for a clown
This makeup is simple but stunning🤩🤩
Jessica Stam is really fantastic model and a great woman also
PERFECTION !!!!!
OMG!!!!! Perfecttt *.*
Absolutely brilliant. Definitely getting it
Ummm when doing a makeup tutorial it helps if we can actually see what the artist is doing!! 😒
First, Jessica is gifted with those eyes.
you seriously can do NO wrong with Jessica Stam...she could make mud look glamorous, lol
UNIQUE Pat ☀️
Thank you pat for using affordable cosmetics 💯💅 always
This is what we called "beauty guru". Unlike those beauty reviewers self-claimed 'beauty gurus'. They are not beauty gurus.
Wow I never knew a quick amazing way to do a Smokey eye look it takes me so long to do a Smokey eye look and most of the time it looks messy lol
omggggg I LOVE JESS!
Very hands on 🤙🏾
she is my firest wish before i really known Cadice
Went out and bought the cover girl pencils. Haven’t bought cover girl in years!
What I actually realized that no matter how shitty the product or item is, it all boils down on how you apply them. Jessica Stam is fucking gorgeous
Thank you 🌹
Perfection
I love this woman, she is the best ,my only idol Pat

I love you Pat!
Здравствуйте, что основа для этого используется внешний вид и какой оттенок пожалуйста

Tip: It helps if you are a super model
lol
its stam...throw a pile of paint on her face and it will look gorgeous..that girl is phenomenal
Amazing
I wish the model would just stand still for a short while, she made me dizzy.
Recommended to me in 2019 because someone is reading my mind
#Blackgirlmagic #BlackExcellence #AllBlack #WeTheBest
fabulous
Shouldnt the camera be fixed on the face?
Bronzer?
I wish that i would be that girl
and she is my firest woman i hope before i know Candice
This whole video made me so dizzy
My question to Pat is what’s with the flying insects in and on the mouth area in artwork Mothership
Drawing on a face seems like a lot more fun than drawing on a piece of paper. Had to mention it. Jessica, pure perfection. Love to do your make up one day. I'll let you cut my hair. Alright then.
nice makeup but lighting and video recording should be better
Pat, can you do my make up everyday for the rest of my life?! Pppplease😁👏♥️
I think I seen this model in another video
ok-how much did they have to pay pat to use cover girl products?
i watch this vid to help me fall asleep.. 😂😪
i love cover girl makeup
no beauty blender no prob
Clean hands/fingers are always better!
professional makeup artist (not beauty gurus ) usually use their fingers as it warms up the protuct and provides a seamless application . Pat said she prefers her fingers even for shadows, it really buff the product iinto the skin
Sponges like BB.. sucks in products... I dont understand the hype at all. . Pros always use either fingers or brush.. sponge only if they feel there's too much products on skin and they want to lift products up
I also thought the music was trendy.
Step 1 : Be beautiful and you can use any crappy makeup product
way behind the ears and all the way in the neck ?? if you take the RIGHT colour. you dont have 2 do that...
Lol.. if you do it right u gotta do the ears and neck. Some ppl have discoloration on the neck and some have rosier ears. But this a normal make up rule.
We havent seen a makeup artist as good as her since kevin aucoin
Hmm.. there's alot of MUA working today that are really good as well.. this was just a classic simple smokey eye anybody can do..
Wayne goss provides really good tips n techniques. Lisa eldrige.. mary greenwall.. patrick ta.. jordan liberty and recently I've found Hindash.. he has his own channel here.. his modern cleopatra look is stunning
Eyebrows???
At 3:00 it shows the makeup being very cakey looking.
+papercandles yeah what about 0:47 too?, afterwards Jessica s face except the eyes has the same video edit as Pats face.
You don’t even know what cakey is you daft, ignorant troll.
She doesn't really show you how to do the look, but is really just selling the products...
The model is perfect!!!!!! but i prefer matte eye shadows!
Ladies and gentlemen, it's the fame (and of course lovely) Jessica Stam!!
Am I the only one who thought Pat McGrath was a white old woman
Tiger Rose why would you assume... I actually goggled who she was after watching an Amazing tutorial using her Subversive Palette...
Tiger Rose
I always thought she was a woman of color because she favor intense color. But, I didn't know she was so dark. Now, that explains everything.
Stay still goddamit
Love pat hate the editing
Cc
great pat, now please do that on a real woman face and not a kid with baby skin, just try, a 40 or 50 year old, the ones who REALLy buy your products and use them every day
She's good, but just as good is Hindash.
Somebody pls give Path some glass of water or holinex
It drives me BONKERS that fashion houses do THREE bizarre things:
They
🤔 don’t modernise a Look for bald-headed women (you want us buying from YOU, or blowing money on shitty, miserably itchy wigs & wig maintenance❓
& They don’t feature
🤔 regular Look updates off their palette 🎨 offerings for 👁 eye cosmetics BY EYE COLOUR 👁
🤔 looks for eyes THAT OPTIMISE THE BRANDED EYEWEAR THEY SELL 👓
it would seem perfectly REASONABLE, but nobody DOES it
Sponsored?
Dear Pat this IS NOT SMOKEY EYES, it just has the effect, professionals do not do smokey like that
So... You're going to teach Pat McGrath, one of the most important make-up artists ever how to do a smokey eye? lol
resptheair I guess you don’t know that there’s different types of smoky eye. 😂.
José Reyes Thank you!
@@thisblackgirloverhere9013 the audacity
I found this video obnoxiously frustrating. The constant camera angle change is so annoying!
worst camera man ever ad the editing
That was not helpful at all. And I refuse to believe this look is all covergirl.
You can apply mud to her lids and it would still look amazing , Dah she's a model.
and she use her dirty fingers 75%the time.
dirty fingers?? pat is a VERY LOVED AND RESPECTED ARTIST
+belia st so because it pat she can stick her finger in your mouth.??
+uknowsalome1 she did not stick hrr finger in anyones mouth.. she thinks that make up looks its best applied with fingers .and btw she is an extremly succesful MUA. tbh it takes real streght to be touchin some strangers face. #germofobicissues
I love her but I agree she mixes lipstick at the back of her palm ,uses her hand a lot which is not hygiene non professional .
Any good mkup artist will use their fingers also, and will be as clean as possible at the same time!
BORING
