This is one of those series you can watch and never get bored of. Can't really age because the majority takes place in feudal times, and even most of the filler episodes are good. The only complaint I have about Inuyasha is the fourth movie but that is a very minor nitpick to a very fun story to watch.

Women didn’t have very strong personalities in this era. They were expected to be meek and submissive. Thats probably why Sango and Kagome were so sought after. Some men want partners (others think of it as a challenge - freaking dirtbags). For Inuyasha and Miroku, it was also probably because they went through so much with Kagome and Sango. Literally to hell and back. That kind of experience ensures a strong bond. It just so happens that theirs manifested as romantic (though it was also a realistically gradual progression).
