Did you add the self leveling mix under where the vanity is going? If not, how did you ensure the tile would be level for the vanity to rest on? It looks like you may have put some sort of backer board down in the area under the vanity. Thanks
I'm not finding the leveling concrete you used online. Dry Tech 4000? The only thing I find with that name is humidifiers. Can you post the information of the specific product you used? Thanks
I second Gary. This was a good install. Backbuttered and everything. I use the levelers, don't care for those tornado. I like the wedges myself. Keep up the good work.
Use a bigger notch, and since you leveled the floor, the leveling system is unnecessary... Never installed radiant heating before, looks simple enough...
PLEASE check out the website www.edgestripkits.com We NOW install the ESKs Vertically to provide the containment of the SLU. This way you tile TO them and then cut them flush with your tile. By doing this you will provide a 5/16" soft joint perimeter to help prevent tenting of tiles
Thank you, I ordered them and will be doing the floor soon. I have a question in regards to the install. when you edge out the areas that are not getting the heat and the leveling mix, when tiling do you use extra mud in say where the vanity goes to bring it up to the height of the rest of the floor ?
I only showed that in this video as an option. What we did for this one was ADDED a cement board underlayment in that area to FLUSH out with the rest of the floor. This way you could tile just under the front of the vanity and SHIM up the back of the vanity with loose tiles or wood shims to get it vevel from back to front....Make sense?
MARK. What do you mean " Tread over leads?" Are you saying not to WALK on them? If that is the case, that would be impossible? WARMUP cable is strong enough......
I'm amazed that you got such a flat SLU result by just pouring without helping it into position.
Just decided to lay down some heated pads. Unfortunately, I decided after I pit down self leveling. Can I put this between my vinly and leveling?
Hi great video, I have the 4ie and the "cold" wire is really long, can you cut it back or do you have to run the 6' of it around the room?

Can you do it with only subfloor an durock then tile over the radiant mat or is it required that you have to use a leveller?
Great video Phil! thanks for sharing your expertise.
