Dennis! I hope you're well after those cold snaps in Texas. This exercise has absolutely unlocked the upper registers for me in the last month. I'm playing Bach suite 4 at pitch and I would not have progressed without this. Not only does it help conditioning, but it also adds awareness for what pitch each finger is playing. Thank you!
Thank you Dennis, just a question for this chapter do you practice these exercises also on the D string. Perhaps its not necessary but the D string needs maybe more endurance
Thank you Pierrot. Absolutely play them on the other strings! The D string is productive, and takes more endurance. I’ve done it on the A and E before when I’m feeling particularly masochistic. But then the G string feels like a violin string, so it’s productive.
