The LeMans had a full vinyl top on it originally, not a landau or half-top. When it rolled down the assembly line with it's build sheet, it indicated it was getting the top and wouldn't need the lead finishing where the top sheetmetal met the C-Pillars. It looks like someone removed the vinyl top, filled that unfinished area with Bondo and painted it.

Hey Randy, the Avalanche is a must. My brother bought one with 21k miles and drove it hard. Traded it with 110k miles, only did routine maintenance. Great trucks
Man, great walk around Randy. I love the ones with Monkey Wrench Mike. I love these videos 'cause they're always so positive, and there are lots of laughs to be had. Keep it up!
There is an interesting entry on the Auto Check report for the Avalanche. There is an accident reported on 05/24/2003 which was before the first title was issued on 06/10/2003 with 22 miles. Maybe it had an accident in shipping.
@@mexicanspec Believe me, I've seen it done, the college I went to had one Chevy truck that had just a mark on the roof you could have buffed out. Nope, donated, they don't want the liability.
@@CR7659 And you don't know the history of that vehicle. Donated vehicles were slated to be donated to begin with. At my high school we had a 1984 Trans Am, brand new, donated to the auto shop to show the students the new systems. The car had no VIN. It was slated to be a donated vehicle from the get go. I have worked at new car stores and when a vehicle is damaged in transit the transportation company has to take care of the damage whether with them paying for it or through their insurance company. We had gotten in damaged vehicles and if the damage wasn't too severe, the car went right to our body shop to get fixed and sold as new. If the vehicle had severe damage, it was taken back and paid off by the insurance company. At that point it becomes the property of that insurance company and disposed of just like any other salvage vehicle.
@@mexicanspec Well, no, I do, since the dealer who donated it got a nice write-up in the paper for doing it and explained why they did it. Which made me curious enough to try to find what was wrong with it and there was the little mark on the roof.

The Tailgate is locked. If it has keys use it to open and then to flip the latches to take off the pannels. I love my Avalanche... That Lemans is a Really rare car! The 400 ones are dam fast~ One of the fastest cars other than the 455 Ho versions of Pontiac. I wish I could get that car.
Randy you should seriously look at the Lemans, if you could get that car for around 500 plus fees, spend around 2k to get it running and throw some seat covers and a cheap maaco paint job on it, the car could fetch for around 10k. Go online and see what 1972 Lemans are going for, it might surprise you.
Is Ram still using those crappy manifold bolts that snap? If so, that could be the tapping sound when the exhaust leaks where the bolt snaps. I had a '12 Ram with the Hemi that did the same thing. I actually heard one of the bolts snap a few minutes after I turned off the truck. I instantly knew what it was..
The Copart walkarounds are the cornerstone of your success Randy, keep that shit up.....it's good! Good luck with the house move, best wishes from the UK.
*That Avalanche is just like my Escalade EXT. if you get locked out of the tailgate you have to take out the back lass, fold down the rear wall and reach through and unlatch each of the 3 hard tonneau covers till you get to the back then take the 3 bots for the handle out and replace it . and be happy you have a home to move into not all of us have that option. in fact i may be watching your videos soon with my dogs in Walmart or lowes parking lot *

The tapping on the Dodge Ram most likely is the catalytic converter, cause it looks like the exhaust got hit
