  • -Still enjoying a state of mindfulness and play by 'painting for your soul'...here we start a NEW tiny book to practice what we learned before...and experiment further. No experience needed, this is just for fun and it's only paper! We'll play with paint, resists & printed tissue paper onto our tiny pages...each lesson building our confidence and skills in very short painting sessions. I demonstrate different techniques so you can learn and grow, developing a wider range of skills and ideas each time. You will also learn how to turn mistakes into something fabulous! Remember, it's just paper!

    * I encourage you to watch this first Tiny Soul Book series because its' popularity led us to this new series.
    Today's supplies used:
Amazon: "3 pcs Mini Watercolor Sketchbook 10x10cm 300 GSM"
set of 3 different colored tiny bound books
-Printed Tissues from my stash used: refer to above links to create yours.
-Paints: Golden High Flow Acrylics; Transparent Blue, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Indian Yellow, Quinacridone Red, Red Iron Oxide, Green Gold.
    - Golden Fluid White Acrylic
-Golden Fluid Matte Medium - for pasting tissues to book page
-PH Neutral PVA - LineCO for gluing small tabs.
    * after drying each page throroughly, you can rub Baby Powder or Corn Starch - for dusting pages to avoid sticking
    or
'Gamlin' Cold Wax Medium to rub over the surface of the pages.
    *note:
Gamlin’s Cold Wax contains gamsol which means, you should avoid direct contact with skin. You can use a cloth to apply and then a clean cloth to buff...or use rubber gloves. Please keep safe when handling this.
REMEMBER TO LET THE PAGES DRY THOROUGHLY BEFORE EVER CLOSING THE BOOK. *IF pages do stick together some day in the future, gently pull apart...and you will have to go over any disturbed areas with new paint....it's easy to paint overtop a mistake with acrylic paint.
    - STENCILS - use whatever stencils you like, but I used:
'The Crafters Workshop' TCW936s 6X6 Messy Writing'
'Joggles' 9x12" (might have been Elizabeth St. Hillaire) but you can check out all of them...they have several artists designing stencils.
*I also used a polka dot & bubbles stencil but I do not know the source.
Brushes: use any brushes you already own

I’m in the second week recovering from hip replacement surgery and feeling well enough to be bored. I’m ready to get back into the studio but need to keep my leg elevated. Thanks for your video!

I just wanted to let you know that Gamlin’s Cold Wax contains gamsol which means, you should avoid direct contact with skin. I use a wad of cheesecloth to apply and then a clean cloth to buff.
