I like this song but damn, from 4:40 is when it really becomes amazing. I just love that breakdown so much, it's the part that made me get into them from the beginning. I also love the host at the end, you can tell she's blown away by the amount of sound they were putting out. so cool
On a lot of their videos I see comments about how the vocals need work. I mean sure, vocals can always improve, but I think these are spot on and fit very well. Tight harmonies.
I'm surprised this hasn't gone properly viral yet. I bet it's the singing. I like it, but I've known most folk to lose interest around there. Love the energy from these guys.
Alright, I've watched a few of these now - the fact that they're capable of playing with their mouths shut for an extended period of time definitely scores points with me. They're eventually going to need some variation in their sound, though - they're really young, so hopefully that will come with time.
@SufjanSays Thanks, I'm gonna try it! I hope it works for me, I'm not that experienced... Wednesday I go to a show of them, they play in the Netherlands!
I have to agree with you on all points. This man is talented, but listen to math-rock like Dillinger Escape Plan or even early The Who (before Keith Moon died), and you will hear drums that are infinitely more complex. Not better, mind, but more technically challenging. I *love* me some fang island, but I can't reasonably say their drummer is even in the top ten as far as complex, challenging beats go. They are perfect for the songs, though, which is far more important than being hard to play.
LOL. u mad? Don't fly off the handle too much bro. I think you took "unnecessarily dickish" to a new level there. But seriously, if you think this drummer is one of the best out there, you should listen to some more music as well. Fang Island is a great young band, but this isn't the most technically challenging music in the world.
really? 5 to 6 minute instrumentals with occasional group choir singing? Man, this is good if you're high on weed/other stuff, but you will not hear this on the radio or see them in your local concert venue anytime soon. Their choice though.
Good things dont last forever
Love seeing the front man for my old band here on bass/keyboards!

Same. Always will be the sickest rift.
I always come back this video. I love it! What an awesome band! Seeing them live is pretty great, but being a little room like this would be amazing!
This is truly amazing. I watch this video all the time. It's crazy how I think this is better than the album version, how!. It's soooooo gooooood!

Fang Island are the perfect band.

Dude id kill for that wizard coat
the fact that none of these videos that kexp has of these guys has more than 1000 views is a fucking tragedy. TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
@twanalofs12 Nah, but its pretty easy to play it by ear. It's just a lot of D, G, and F# variations and stuff. Play by the scales.

magic between 0:54 - 1:36
I honestly cannot tell whether this is 4/4 timing or not
Fairly easy track to jam along to. D major, boys. :D
The things these guys do with music is like sex to my earholes. I love it.
@Sammyeatworld69 It looks like an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail reverb.
@SufjanSays Do you have a tab?
@WiUMPHiend42 kindly recommend some
@rmwatson1
I saw them in my local concert venue last week.... come at me bro
slagsmaalsklubben in hardrock!!!:D
EVERYONE HI-FIVING EVERYONE!
@rmwatson1 This a very sad truth....
.....This is what humans were meant to do.
@VapidZeal Dude, waaaaaaay better than sex :P
But is technically challenging the benchmark for a great drummer?

So.....the only reason to play music or be in a band is to get airtime on the radio or play at First Ave?
