I absolutely love this woman so much, I'm not Xhosa speaking but her artistry is beyond the language. I remember singing along with little understanding to what the song really meant but I was hooked nonetheless. I've bumped into her on several occasions and everytime I've spoken to her I left with a hug and a smile, her humility is so genuine. ❤❤❤
One of my favorite performances by Sis Simphiwe was when she performed with Asa at Zoo lake. I had goosebumps. Lol couldn't stop crying. That's how haunting her voice is
Thank you so much for creating platforms like this ! Definitely one of my absolute favorite artist, not only because I’m Xhosa but because she is beyond amazing. Excellence is definitely her code and she deserves nothing less when one hears the the amount of work she puts in her art. She is really at the caliber of Aretha Franklin,Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo,Nina Simone, Sade and Eryka Badu.

This was so beautiful, I love how she's so content, and simple... Sometimes I wanted her to expand more on her answers, but the two or four words she spoke were enough, for that time... Great
I wish Sbu could have asked her about the book Pumla Gqola wrote about her music, how that came about? I bet most people are not aware of the fact that her artistry has captured the attention of academics. We are looking forward to so much from her. A Renegade Called Simphiwe
It's true when they say black don't crack. She's so beautiful. I'm a Sepedi speaking person but when she sings I hear every last word. Her and Thandiswa Mazwai keep me going during my dark days. Thank you Sis for making music not for the sake of music but making it with passion.
I just tuned in. And before i press play and listen to this interview, i'd like to say thank you so much to this platform for bringing people who are really inspirational. It's just so powerful what DJ Sbu and the team are up to.
I am not comparing but Dj Sbu Grootaman this space is dignified and well structured i I love Macg mara grootman ndikothulela mqwazi this is well curated, yes we want organic news and interviews, and your platform is exactly that it’s not contravention it’s what Young fellows need Congratulations bhuda on implementing this. Wow... Beautiful soul... What a phenomenal individual.! Years ago I went to see Simpiwe Dana, she was performing at the Bat center in Durban... I enjoyed the show and had a feeling that Bat center is and was too small a venue for such an Artist... Makwande sana... Your music heals...
Oh! Wow... You know... the thing about podcasting...is it makes us views feel like we are living closer to the person we are watching... We get to listen to real stories and react naturally to words that speak directly to our own experiences ... I love honest conversations regardless of whether they are educational or inspirational... I enjoyed this interview Sbu, it was flowing and really felt like a conversation... Simphiwe Dana is my crush in music and in real life... Love her to bits... I love the fact that you guys didn't shy away from talking about your age, I'm also in my 40s :) 44 years in fact... and that you made the conversation about politics and culture more like my favorite cappuccino... It was a very insightful talk indeed... Big ups S'buda!!! Nathi sinithanda nonk' emakhaya...
There's an awakening happening with a lot of black people now. Long gone are those days where we embrace spirituality of other nations while we have always had our own. Thokoza
This lady is a blessing and a powerhouse to this country. Her Music is and her personality is extremely rare. Thank you Bra Sbu for bringing her on the show
Simphiwe is like a quintessential Goddess, Im fascinated by everything from her poise and just how she carried herself throughout this interview. Another great episode Sbudah!
This is a beautiful interview, I am impressed by both the interviewer and the interviewee, however, I feel that djSbu did not follow up on Simphiwe bait when she spoke of her pain, she alluded to this pain she would not like it on anybody more than twice and Sbu did not ask any follow up questions on it.
Another great interview! 😁🔥 Personally, I think you should stop asking guests "What do you wanna be remembered as?". I know it's not copyrighted, exclusive or anything like that but it sounds a lot like MacG. Let's please stick to "In 20/30 years from now you'll be....". Just my honest 2 cent as an active viewer/listener of this podcast 😉
Thank you 🙏 for this treat butom mdala. Love this woman. Wishing her healing as she continue to heal. Healing is honestly what we need as people and it is an individual journey. Amen. Camagu
She is a real mbogodo, she comes across as soft but strong asf… noticed when she checked Sbu about the “women in the industry raising kids” yeah that’s what a mbokodo women does, she’ll call you out real quick. Great podcast kodwa 🙌🏾
