Would it not risk splitting the gourd by introducing boiling water to it. I was told to never go above about 85C. Also what about scraping the remains of the bitter gourd pith out of a new gourd, so that it does not cause a bad taste.
@@Bluestarseed1 "cured" mine just enough to scrape out innards. Put about 100 degree (or less) Farenheit water in for 20 minutes then scraped w/spoon. Repeated it, let dry a day in the sun (got lucky-I'm in Ireland lol) & it's been grand ever since. Only had it about 6 months though.
